Just steps from the Princeville walking path, this ground-floor apartment sits on a piece of property that it shares with a main house occupied by a family with kids (guests have a separate entrance; the door to the main house remains locked). Every detail has been thought of - an outdoor shower, central air conditioning, a private washer/dryer, and garage storage for surfboards and other beach gear.
The living space is open and modern, with a sitting area that encircles a flatscreen cable TV. Also in this breezy great room are a sleek kitchen with stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher), a peninsula bar counter with stools for four, and an adjacent circular dining table for four. Outside on the garden patio, you'll find a gas grill and a table for al fresco dining. There's a bedroom on either side of the living space - a primary bedroom with an en suite full bath and a second bedroom with an en suite half-bath and direct access to the outdoor shower.

This place was perfect for our stay. We had a bit of confusion arriving late at night in the dark and not getting good cell service on our phones. The lock code and some instructions were sent via text. We struggled finding the place as you can’t see the door from the driveway. We finally figured it out, got inside, connected to WiFi, then the emails came through on our phone, and we realized all the info we needed was in our email. So make sure you don’t rely only on the texts. Other than that small glitch on our end, everything was seamless. I preferred the outdoor shower over the master shower. Plus, it had Hawaiian scented toiletries whereas the master had Dove. I recommended snagging the Hawaiian scents as they are amazing! This place is stocked with everything you need including an iron and 2 types of laundry detergent (I loved having the option for free and gentle). The garage had all kinds of things to use like a cooler, umbrella, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. They left us with a binder with tons of recs for food and farmers markets plus history of the island. They really have put so much thought and effort into this place.

I loved the Princeville location and amenities for our family vacation in gorgeous Kauai. Each evening we returned to the home covered in sand and mud from our adventurous activities and really appreciated the private outdoor shower, water hose, and garage with the washer/dryer. It was a pleasure to not have to drag wet, sandy clothes and towels through the house or walk a distance from a parking lot carrying sleepy kids. This was so much easier than a hotel or large condo complex. We were comfortable, the home was clean, and the kitchen was stocked to easily prepare meals. I would definitely return and would highly recommend to families with children. The lack of a bathtub might be a hassle for families with toddlers/infants. I would not recommend for two couples unless one couple is comfortable in a full size bed with 1/2 bath and outdoor shower only. The master bedroom has a king size bed, full bath with two sinks, and large shower (no tub). Foodland grocery store is a very short drive away, which we visited often. It was a vacation in paradise and this vacation home was nearly perfect!

The accommodation was very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. We loved the outdoor shower - it was great to get all the remaining sand off outside, rather than track it into the unit. The neighborhood is quiet. There are kids upstairs, but there was very little noise and it didn't bother us. Would definitely stay here again!

Our family of three had a great time, enjoying the island of Kauai. The north side of the island is so relaxing and this spot made it easy for us to do all of our adventures and enjoy the local area The restaurants were great.

Pros: Nice property in nice neighborhood. Very new. Was very clean. Great desk in 2nd bedroom for office. Great internet. All the appliances and kitchen gear were fine. Bed was comfy.
Cons(nitpicks): If I stayed again i would bring my own Roku instead of having to sign in and out of the Roku TV as nothing was provided. No TV in master bedroom. Electrical switches everywhere with no labels. A cover for the outdoor furniture would be good as the birds like to perch on them and leave droppings. And as others have said it is part of a larger residence that has kids so there is some noise, but not a big issue.
If i were to stay on this part of the island again i would stay again.

Our family of six had 7 amazing days and nights in Kauai due in large part to our vacation rental at North Shore Obama Hale. It was super clean, quiet, and had all the amenities we needed for cooking our Costco meals and great space to enjoy eating together. The beach toys, chairs, and umbrella made our beach days super fun! Totally recommend this rental!

The North Shore Ohana Hale was the perfect place for my wife and our daughter and her husband to stay while visiting Kauai. We've stayed at several other rentals in the area and this one was by far the cleanest and nicest. Would definitely stay here again.

This property was located in the heart of Princeville and offered access to beaches as well as dining / grocery just a short distance away. The unit itself was sectioned off an existing house so be aware that you will be sharing a home with a resident family / owner. We could hear the children upstairs in the evenings and the walls are very thin so that is definitely something to consider if you think you're getting a property all to yourself. Finally, the unit lost power (there was a blackout in the neighborhood) and the groceries we had saved for dinner were completely wasted as there was no way to heat anything up without electricity or light of any kind. When I contacted the property management company for some sort of reimbursement given that we had to go buy dinner after already buying groceries I was told that this was outside of their control and no compensation would be given. This lack of customer service is unfortunate at this price point and I will not be renting from this site again.

Nice place, good beds, location etc. Would have been nice to have some basics in the cupboards such as salt and pepper and some cooking oil. I imagine everybody staying there having but the same thing in quantities that last well beyond their stay.

This was perfect for a family of 4. Very quiet and with good access to everything you need. We would definitely stay again. Only thing missing is grilling tools and a large mixing bowl. Otherwise it is well stocked with kitchen supplies etc. Outdoor shower was one of our favorite parts. Thank you!

So clean and beautifully decorated. Loved the new appliances and fully stocked kitchen. Totally used the blender to make protein smoothies in the morning with fresh fruit that we picked up from local fruit stands. Having beach chairs, a cooler, umbrella, and beach mats available in the garage was such a bonus. We loved that! There were ice vloxks in the freezer ro use as well. We will totally stay here again!

This is a really beautiful, comfortable, and well-managed property. Communication with property management was timely and spot-on. Everything in the unit is new and the owners have thought of almost everything you might need -- we especially liked the outdoor shower! The beds are very comfortable as is the AC+ceiling fan climate conditioning. The second/smaller bedroom could really use a curtain over the door window, but no complaints at all otherwise. Thanks again for the stay!

Perfect vacation rental for north shore
This rental was sooo comfortable and very thoroughly outfitted and equipped, they thought of everything! The unit seems brand new! Some of the things we loved about the unit; the outdoor shower, the awesome lanai with a BBQ grill, having air conditioning, the fully equipped kitchen, having laundry facilities in the unit and all of the beach gear that was provided for us to use. The basket of goodies from Vacasa was a super nice touch! Even though this unit is connected to the main house, it feels like you have your own place with separate entrance and parking. We would love to go back for another stay!!

Few things could make the listing much much better though. For starters there were very few condiments in the kitchen for cooking. Another review mentioned not having a curtain to cover the door in the spare room. Still didn't have one when we arrived. Also the smaller room didn't have a dresser or closet to store clothing. Outdoor shower was nice as long as the wind didn't blow the curtain around. Would be nice to have it more secure somehow.

Well appointed, really really comfy beds and pillows. I slept really well. It is connected to the main house like a duplex but we barely noticed it at all. It felt totally private. Perfect for our family of four. Short drive to some truly exceptional beaches. Thanks so much for a great experience!

Checking in was easy. Vacasa welcomed us with snacks and provided us with shampoo/conditioner/bodywash/lotion. This house had 2 bedrooms and 2 showers (1 walk-in shower in the master bedroom and an outdoor shower right outside the smaller room). The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware/flatware/silverware/glassware/cutlery and cleaning supplies. Bathrooms had plenty of towels and they also had beach gears (4 beach towels, 4 beach chairs, a cooler, an umbrella, and a boogie board). Washer + Dryer are located in the garage with laundry detergent.
House was very spacious and newly renovated. Definitely exceeded our expectations. If you’re doing things in the north region of the island, i highly recommend staying here! We spent a lot more time in the south region of the island so it was quite the drive for us on most days so make sure to plan your itinerary out!
Will definitely stay here again if we come back to Kauai! Mahalo!

We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the place was. It was newly remodels, clean and had all the amenities you would need. The location is great. Close to the amazing beaches and good eats. Good location for fun day trips or just relaxing close by. They even provided beach gear. Thanks for a great stay!

I can't recommend this place enough! Everything in the unit felt well thought out. The kitchen was well stocked and had nice, new appliances for the meals we made during our stay. The unit was very nicely furnished/decorated and we particularly liked the layout and the AC in each room. The bedrooms are located on either side of the living room and kitchen, so even though it's a smaller space, it was easy to slip away to experience some privacy within the unit.
I work remotely, so the adjustable standing desk in the smaller bedroom was really nice to have! That bedroom doubled as an office for me. We made daily use of the beach gear that was provided (four Tommy Bahama chairs, cooler, beach umbrella) and found the location ideal for exploring the walking around Princeville in the mornings and exploring the beautiful beaches on the north shore. The outdoor shower essentially makes for a full en-suite bathroom off of the smaller bedroom, since it's located directly outside of the door that leads to the outdoors from this bedroom. We loved it!
Thanks to the thick walls and private entrance, it really felt like we had our own space and privacy even with the apartment attached to a main house .
I was impressed with Vacasa's management too. The soaps and towels were nice, we arrived to a welcome basket with chocolates and cookies, and check in/out was a breeze. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a comfortable home base for exploring the north shore!
