Welcome to our Cozy Creek Log Cabin
- Our single-story log cabin is surrounded on two sides by private marsh woods, and a seasonal creek that you can walk into to cool off wraps around the other sides.
- The cabin is on a town lot so you will have neighbors nearby.
- It has 1042 sq ft of living space, and a nice size back concrete patio.
- There is a small wooden bridge to drive over the creek, duallys and work trucks may just fit or may have an issue and will not be able to pull the whole way in. No parking on bridge. Only one vehicle allowed in driveway. No parking on grass.
The space
- We have a well stocked kitchen with a coffee maker, coffee grinder and kettle. We have a starter supply of teas and coffee.
- There is an entry/mudroom to store your boots and shoes.
- The patio has a twin Adirondack chair, charcoal grill, fire pit and benches.
- The space is located at the end of a road in town, which means it is within walking distance to Downtown Darby. The town is a unique area with a mixture of different types of homes from trailer homes to stickbuilt (and log!). Darby is a small safe working class town that is eclectic and a fun place to base camp for all the surrounding outdoor activities. We ask you respect our neighbors and quiet hours of 10pm to 8am.
Important things to know before you book:
- Children are welcome , but please be aware that we ask you to move anything that you would consider a hazard or that could be easily damaged.
- We do not allow any events or parties.
- 4 guest maximum
- Summer: The cabin has a portable air conditioner in each bedroom. In addition, there is a portable fan. The living room has a ceiling fan.
- Winter: Both bedrooms have a portable heater. The dining area has a fuel heater.
- We offer a contactless entry via a key code that will be provided prior to check-in.
- Although the cabin is in the country , it is located within town and you could hear cars going by.
- Cell service can be spotty depending on provider, but we have great WIFI.
- We have a no pet policy. (We love pets but this is the typical story of one person ruining it for all early on).
- The cabin is surrounded by marshy woods, so keep an eye out for insects including mosquitos.
- Bugs are not associated with cleanliness issues and occasionally come in from the outside. We do routine pest control. As long as you keep all the doors and windows shut, it will be more difficult for them to get inside. We are unable to offer any guarantee against or refunds for an occasional bug in the house.

The property is excellent and well maintained. It is beautiful and clean. Close to everything you would want to do in Darby and the Bitterroot Valley.

Nice little cabin in town. No bugs at all, none, all windows are screened, so I don't see why or how others made a big deal on that. My only criticism is of VRBO, the back-office part, that makes it a pain to communicate--you have to sign-in repeatedly and wade through their marketing garbage just to reach the Host, but that's not the Host's fault and Host herself was super responsive. I hope VRBO is listening. Plan to return next year.

This is our second stay at the cabin! We will most likely return in the winter. The cabin is spacious, clean and comfortable and has a few added touches just for the guests to enjoy! We really like the fully equipped kitchen which allows for cooking breakfast and other meals as needed. The patio is nice with lots of deer in the area! The location is convenient, quiet and has easy access to Darby and things in the local area. The owner is easy to reach and delightful to communicate with! We really felt welcome!

Darby 2022
Was a nice cabin, first time I stayed in Darby (town). Just enjoy being more in the country but had to try town once. Easy access to the town and restaurants/saloons. Was nice to see the whitetails around the property but nothing like seeing the elk at cabins we have been at on the West Fork of the Bitterroot.

Deer wandering about
A brook wanders in front of the property and draws deer for drinking. We saw a half dozen deer wandering through the yard and nearby properties. The poppies, lilacs and hydrangeas are a nice addition. A picnic table on the back patio would be a nice addition. The house is very clean and well appointed for guests.

Cozy Cabin!
The cabin was clean, comfortable, warm and had everything we needed for our several day stay. It was wonderful having a roomy fully equipped kitchen as well as a cozy living room. Our host was easy to reach and added many welcoming touches. We would definitely stay here again.

Winter Ski Get Away
My wife and I were out on a nine day three state road trip to four different ski areas and found Darby while looking for a place close to Lost Trail Powder Mountain. To be very honest our first impression was less than favorable as we drove the short two blocks off the main highway in the center of Darby. It's a working class small town. Not a glitzi resort town for sure. But as our 4 days and three nights went on we became much more comfortable enjoying our walks into town after skiing each day. Especially enjoyed Darby Wine & Spirits, the Bandit Brewery, four blocks off the main street, and the Big Cat Cafe. Of the four locations we stayed on the trip this ended up being our favorite. It was very quiet, quaint and even had some deer walking through the woods behind the house.

Beautiful Comfort of “Home Away from Home”
Simply a lovely, comforting and peaceful home. Immensely grateful for owners care, communication and accommodation’s… as well as honesty. We will return and will not stay anywhere but this lovely space! We thank you, again. Take care. Anne and Harry
