About this house rental
Magical in every way, this delightful 2 bedroom one bath cottage will have you Spellbound. The stone house has been lovingly restored and updated, surrounded by exceptional landscaping and towering trees. When it is pouring the rain, as we say here in the Appalachian mountains, you can stand under the amazing Hemlock in the front yard and not even get wet. Bring your camera phone with all of it's pixels because you will not be disappointed.
Forget about fighting for parking and walk to dinner or the breweries downtown and then come home to watch the fireflies from your own fairylit glass house in the back yard. You are right across the street from the Hart Theatre, the local performing arts venue for Waynesville as well as the Shelton House Museum which features North Carolina crafts and agricultural displays. The local Farmer's Market takes place on Saturday mornings Spring through Fall, and it is visible from the front yard. Again, no need to drive.
There is an updated kitchen and a double reclining sofa to remind you that you are not in a storybook cottage filled with beds that are just right, and there is a desk in a separate room for work if you must. The backyard has a wonderful glass house with a comfy red couch for reading or having a glass of wine.
Lake Junaluska and the trail that surrounds it are 10 minutes away, and when we are lucky enough to stay there we park at the Rose Walk and count the swans on the lake as the moon comes up over the mountain ridges.
Close enough to Asheville (less than 30 miles) and right next to Lake Junaluska... between Pisgah National Forest and at the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains....a short ride to rafting on the NOC or skiing at Cataloochee...there is gambling at the Cherokee casino.... a short and breathtaking drive to Brevard to look for white squirrels......but you will probably not get to much of that....because Spellbound will hold you captive with the company of each other.
Spellbound, in the shadow of Cold Mountain, is as magical as you make it.
We host three additional properties. One is also walking distance to downtown Waynesville, Vrbo 2600941. Our other two properties are side by side in Weaverville just of of Main Street, Vrbo 2627152 and Vrbo 2684552.

Cottage is very comfortable and charming. Yard and trees are magical. Electric car charger is excellent. Interior is magical with old furniture. Wonderful TV. Kitchen very well stocked and wine present was very nice.
Front steps are steep and could use a rail. Backyard greenhouse needs cleaned.

We really liked our stay. Great location, quiet, great yard, loved sitting on the front porch ln the evening. We stayed two weeks. I would recommend it except for the bathroom. Too small. The door could only open half way before bumping into the toilet, and the bathtub/shower space was made even smaller by a soap rack at shoulder level that stuck out from the wall.
Except for that everything was good.

This home was just what we wanted. We easily walked to restaurants, performances, & markets. When we wanted to stay in, everything we needed was provided. The owners were helpful with any questions, and we are sure to stay there again.

Charming old Cherokee home, built in 1920s, and now modernized, but with plenty of the charm
of the past still intact. Loved every inch of it, from the REAL Cracker Barrel Rockers on the front porch to the many ‘20s antiques. Best of all was meeting the owners and exchanging ideas over lunches together. Both are delightful people and sharp business owners. I’d be happy to return next summer! 🙂

We loved our stay in this charming home. Everything we could need was included. The glass house in the backyard was a magical spot for a glass of wine in the evening. We hope to stay again in the future.

What a comfortable and delightful home within a short walk into town. We enjoyed the clean mountain air with no humidity for us Florida folks. The people are so friendly and the festival in town with music so fun! Farmer's market on Saturday just steps from here. We will definitely be back to stay longer.

This is an elegantly decorated and landscaped cottage conveniently located to downtown and the Waynesville Inn and Golf Resort where we participated in a two-day tournament. Stayed off campus because we brought our English Setter. Also, stayed over to visit relatives in Hendersonville. This rental fit our needs perfectly and we have only nice things to say about our stay.

The cottage is everything it is advertised to be. It is clean, well-appointed, and in a great location. It's an easy walk to the charming town. John is very responsive to any questions and left great instructions and recommendations. The delicious bottle of wine was an added perk. Thank you!

Aside from the rough basement laundry, and stained shower curtain, this was clean and comfortable. Great water pressure, comfortable beds, and welcome bottle of wine...I don't drink so I'd rather have filtered water, but my sister enjoyed a glass.
Nice mystical vibe!

The cottage and property were adorable, well stocked and comfortable. The location made for an easy walk to downtown areas-and an easy drive to the blue ridge parkway or Lake Junealuska. The cottage owners were in touch with information and confirmed checkin/checkout processes. Perfect level of communication. We enjoy visiting the area once or twice a year and would enjoy staying at this property again!

We absolutely LOVED the house. Perfect size for 2-4, quiet and secluded yet near Main Street. Didn't make use of the tea house out back but I think we will next time. The only challenge was the small bathroom and the shower with a stability bar at shoulder length - made for tight showering quarters. We will definitely try to stay there again when we visit our family in Waynesville.

We loved our stay at the Spellbound Cottage!
It is darling and vintage with all the modern necessities. The bed/lines are super comfy.
The location is perfect...steps from Mainstreet, saturday market, restaurants, easy access to the parkway. Willow and John were so lovely to work with. We stay frequently in WV & MV, this place is at the top of the list!

Cute, quaint & clean home w/lovely “fairy” house in backyard. Very convenient location to downtown Waynesville.

This cottage far exceeded my expectations. It was beautiful, well-stocked, and spotlessly clean. The fairy lights in the garden house just added to the magic of the place. I loved the private location that was still walking distance to town. Gus and I enjoyed the farmers market down the street and the Arts and Crafts festival on Main Street - all without worrying about road congestion or parking. We enjoyed exploring town, Lake Junaluska, and the Blue Ridge Parkway during our long weekend in Waynesville. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us!

This was such a comfortable place for our small family to stay for our mountain adventure. Well situated for our daily adventures. So many beautiful touches and served our needs perfectly. We felt so at home for our 4-night stay and were sad to leave! We look forward to a return stay in what our daughter affectionately refers to as “the stone house”. Thank you for everything!

Great property and prime location for exploring. Loved Waynesville and recommendations by the host were spot on. Central location allowed us to explore the town and other local communities easily.

Everything about this stay was lovely. The house is beautiful and clean. The yard is pretty. It worked great for our small family of 3. One item to consider for others: the walk to town is not long at all but mostly uphill, so if mobility is an issue keep that in mind. This is not a complaint, just food for thought as you plan your own stay. Mountain biking was our goal, and my husband and son had a blast riding at Chestnut Mountain. There is a garage door around back that opens into the basement to store bikes safely. The owners are welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend this property and the little town of Waynesville. Thank you for making us feel welcome!

The cottage was exactly as advertised, and the owners were spot-on at all times.

This cottage is a cute well maintained cottage perfect for one couple. With only one small bathroom I think it would be crowded for more than a couple and possibly 2 children. It is within walking distance of town but is close to a main road. That said the positives outweigh the negatives and we would gladly rent again. It’s not perfect but it is very nice.

My family of four loved this beautiful property. We traveled with our dog and two children (5 yr, 18 month). It suited us perfectly and it is gorgeous inside and out. Beautiful old stone house and lovely yard. We will happily rent this house again if ever in the area again. The owners thought of everything you could ever need while you're there...extra tp, bandaids, coffee, tea, more than enough towels, sheets, blanket, etc

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. My husband and I, and our dog, enjoyed the cool days with a cozy fire. We went on several day trips around the area. Really a great fall trip!

This cottage was just right for my husband and I and our dog for a weekend getaway. It's within walking distance to the downtown area. It is off the road but we couldn't hear any road noise from the main bedroom while we slept. There is a nice yard to walk the dog. The couch is nice with the dual recliners and there is a smart tv to be able to sign into the different providers. One con was that the bathroom is very tiny. But everything else was good and communication was great.

A bit rainy at times, but really enjoyed our stay in Waynesville. The cottage was just lovely and so conveniently located to Main Street restaurants and little shoppes. Plus, as an additional advantage, we got to keep our little “ Sheltie” dog with us!

We enjoyed our stay! We come to Waynesville every year and the property was as nice as described. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evenings while or dog explored the property. The owners responded to our need for bottled water due to road work and water shut off on our last day which was much appreciated.

Wonderful cottage and yard
We had an absolutely wonderful time at Spellbound Cottage. It was nicely decorated, well air conditioned, and had great internet access and modern appliances. We even learned how to make French Press coffee!
Whether walking to town (great shops, restaurants and brewery), walking to the Hart Theatre for a play (which was great!), or just sitting on the front porch at night watching the fireflies, everything was great! We couldn't have been happier with our stay at the cottage. Thanks Willow and John.

Charming cottage!
We so enjoyed our recent stay at Spellbound. We are long-time visitors of Waynesville but have always stayed on the mountain. We decided on staying in town this time since we had our pups with us and having sidewalks was nice. We thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and especially the glass house. We had early morning coffee and late afternoon wine there! The kitchen was well equipped and the beds and linens were also very good. We will certainly be returning!

Delightful cottage
We were in need of some quite quality time together. Cozy will appointed old cottage with antiques, original wood and stone gave us a private retreat. Old oaks, maple and weeping fern trees with so many flowers surround this cottage tucked minutes from downtown. Great restaurants, shopping etc. 10 minutes from EVERYTHING you could need. We will return soon. Thank you Willow.
