We loved the location and being on water

I called at 10 in the morning the day of my stay to make sure everything was ready to go for the trip and i got told to call back around 3, so i called Vacasa again at 3 and they told me closer to 4, meanwhile the whole time venture out is telling me i can’t come into property cause they can’t see my reservation. So come 4 o clock i called Vacasa again while standing in front of venture out security and they are still telling me i can’t check in, so then venture out is saying Vacasa needs to call, so i gave Vacasa the phone number waited another 30 minutes to find out they still haven’t called venture out and confirmed my reservation. It took almost 2 hours to check in and it could’ve all been prevented if Vacasa did there job in the first place.

Functional small place. Great for boaters, if it’s busy at venture out, you may not get a trailer spot and will have to go offsite to store your trailer.

Great location with a very nice, large kitchen. Stocked with plenty of towels and beach towels. Good laundry facility nearby. Friendly neighbors too.
The fold out couch was unfortunately bad. It was extremely loud with every movement and very uncomfortable and uneven. Even my I don’t care” teenage boy was pretty unhappy.

Nice location. Good service. Great heated salt water swimming pool and hot tub. Friendly folks. Well equipped kitchen and good hot water pressure in the house.
Over all a fine choice.

Close to the hustle and bustle of Key West. Located in a friendly gated community with a nice oceanfront pool and swimming lagoon. House is exactly as advertised; clean and comfortable. Great communication by the rental company. Nice stay!

The Dock Holiday home was wonderful. Very clean, comfortable and served all of our needs. The surrounding community was well kept as well. We enjoyed the pool, Saturday Pancake Breakfast and watching the sun rise over the water. Even had a manatee come through our canal which was very cool. We would definitely come back…great location with a short distance to local restaurants, Marathon and Key West.

The kitchen is well equipped. The property manager responded quickly to one minor request. The community pool is large, inviting and well heated. The entire community is neat and well maintained. The 24x7 guard shack staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the bocce ball courts, line dancing, pool exercises and yoga classes. All the guests and residents are friendly. It is a piece of paradise!

Really neat gated community with great water access. An unusual smell from nearby RV lots. We reported it but never got a response.

There is a washer and dryer in the picture and description, however when we arrived we found the washer and dryer boarded up and unable to be used. Not ideal for a week long stay, and would have been nice to know that. The house was relatively clean, however the dishes and cups were very old with permanent stains. $100 at IKEA would go a long way on some new glasses. There were lots of sugar ants in the house, primarily in the kitchen/dining area. Lastly, we brought a boat to enjoy the lobster sport season, but the canal was so completely choked with a thick mat of seaweed I could barely get my boat to the sea wall at the trailer. Having no choice but to drive through it, I naturally had engine issues every day with sea weed being caught in the impeller. The weed mat also caught trash in it, and offered an unbearable odor that kept us from enjoying the patio at all. On top of the seaweed creating a terrible experience, it’s also a safety hazard, as it was so thick that if someone fell in it would be very difficult to keep their head above the surface, much less get to the ladder to climb out (might be speaking from experience!). If you are set on staying at Venture Out, I would avoid this one.

great rental
Enjoyed staying at Dock Holiday. As pictured, nicely thought out, comfortable! unfortunately the spin cycle of the washing machine did not work so I was left with soaking wet clothes and a tv stopped working while we were there. I was unable to get in touch with the property manager so had to call the rental agency to leave messages. Nothing that ruined my stay.

Spring Break Family of 4
Property was exactly as described and appeared in photos.
The pullout couch mattress isn’t comfortable, teen son opted to sleep on couch rather than the pull out bed.
Location is amazing!!!
Pool is great.
Staff of Venture Out is friendly and helpful.
Majority of the people at Venture Out are retirees and some were finicky about the young people, but all in all it was a great stay.

Dock Holiday is the Best!
Dock Holiday is a wonderful 2 bedroom and 2 bath canal front home with space for my boat. This is a great place with the best amenities that include a market, pool on the ocean, tennis courts, playground, and a quiet place to relax. I can’t say good enough things and am grateful for the best time our family has had in a long time. We are definitely coming back!

Super quiet, safe, clean, friendly neighborhood
We loved this quiet, safe neighborhood just a 30 minute drive from Key West. The house was very clean. The kitchen was spacious and had what we needed for preparing breakfast and snacks. We enjoyed sitting in the sun by the dock as opposed to driving down to the public pool. The property manager was responsive to our inquiry regarding the garbage pickup (the garbage collector will not open the underground garbage bin; you have to pull the can out for him). Follow the directions in the notebook regarding a/c and fans. Keep in mind when booking that those directions include keeping bedroom doors open for air circulation. We were just one couple. Two couples would not have any privacy under those conditions. We were comfortable in February, not sure how it would feel in July. We read a previous review saying that the dryer didn't work. We took a portable clothes line just in case. We didn't need it, but after two loads of clothes during our stay, the spin cycle of the washing machine quit, and we, unfortunately left our bed linens soaking wet and our dirty towels piled up in the bathroom when we checked out. There is a lot of storage space in this very efficient house. The address can be confusing: 701 Spanish Main Drive is the ENTIRE community. This property is unit no. 359 on Malibu Roundabout. Specifically, take a left once you drive through the security gate, then take a right at the first stop sign. The number 359 is on the house and on the street in front of the house. "Dock Holiday" is on the house also. Enjoy your time at Dock Holiday. Say hello to your neighbors; they are quite friendly. Have dinner at Square Grouper just west on Overseas Highway on the left. Ask for Sheila; she is fabulous.
