We were looking for a place to unwind and relax near Yosemite - the Cub Inn was perfect for us. Nestled between pine trees up a small hill, it’s private, has a lot of space and all the amenities for a family vacation. Would definitely go back again!

Great place for large groups. Created some amazing memories!

This house was perfect for our large group! The space was clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for everyone. We loved that the kitchen was well-stocked with cookware and utensils, and the bathrooms were well-supplied. Groveland is a charming town, and the house is conveniently located for exploring Yosemite. While we missed having access to Pine Mountain Lake, we found another nearby lake to rent boats for a fun day on the water. Overall, we had a fantastic stay!

We had a great time at this house for 5 nights. Loved the log cabin construction, and the decor was very appropriate for the house. There is a bathroom for every bedroom (6), which was very nice for our family of 22. We loved the large outdoor deck. It was a fantastic gathering place both mornings and evenings. The location in Groveland was perfect for trips to Yosemite, Lake Don Pedro, and other local river swimming holes. The kitchen had everything we needed (a second refrigerator would have been nice). The grand kids really enjoyed the playground outside and the toys and games in the house. There were a couple of small maintenance issues our first morning that VaCasa took care of right away. They warn you about the steep driveway, and they are not kidding. Getting my boat up the driveway and turned around was not easy. Approach the property from the east for the easiest approach for trailers. Overall, we would definitely stay there again.

This was a great house for our family gathering. The house is very large to accommodate a lot of people. The dining room was very large for our large meals. The T.V. was huge, the living rooms furniture clean and comfortable. It was a great house for a lot of people.

Such a lovely home to spend a family getaway in. The home is well equipped and nicely set up for large gatherings. The home has such a cozy vibe and we left with such a nice feeling of having spent the weekend at the home. Even though the home was up in the woods, it was well maintainted.

House was large enough to accommodate myself and 5 families and the floor plan work even with 5 babies 2 and under after strategically placing a few ice chest around the stairs.

Our stay was fantastic. Each bedroom having it's own bathroom was a definite plus. We definitely plan on renting the property again.

We had a cousins get together for Christmas and had a blast at this place. Great property with many bed and bath rooms!

This place was great for our entire family. Nice and spacious. It had all that we needed. The kids loved having so many areas to play. Our only complaint would be the master bed needs a new mattress. It was very uncomfortable. Overall a great experience for everyone.

This home was so spacious! The AC worked great, laundry offered two sets washer/dryer for a crowd, spacious kitchen, bed and bathrooms. We did deal with an ant issue in kitchen area and feel with the size of this property, a larger stove/oven would be ideal as you will be more than likely cooking for a crowd. Property manager was quick to respond to a few questions we had.

The house was a perfect place for our women's retreat. The beds were comfy, there was a bathroom connected to every room. The accommodations were wonderful!

When we arrived 3 of us spent 20 minutes cleaning out rodent droppings from shelving in the kitchen pantry. Some were old and crusty, but mostly recent. For the next 2 nights as we ate dinner mice were visible scampering on floor in kitchen and darting in and out along cabinets and base of refrigerator.
We were careful not to leave food out, but when we returned after a day in the Park the kitchen countertops were crawling with thousands of ants.
We made an emergency trip to the store for a can of Raid insect spray and used it twice daily along back splash and base boards.
Floors in every room were dirty and cobwebs in corners.
This is not just rustic cabin in the forest conditions, but highly unsanitary.
We were given 2 different sets of Network/Wifi information and codes. Neither worked. After an hour of texting with the local rep another man called and gave us latest log-in information.
One of our children managed to lock an upstairs bedroom door. (Our fault) But it was a key lock and we were locked out with no key. At 8:45 p.m. we tried to contact the local rep about a key, but received a prerecorded text telling us to to call the Vacasa national 800 phone number. We finally managed to jimmy the lock open with a table knife and a small screw driver from our car.
Drawer fronts in kitchen were missing screws and hanging.
Yosemite was fantastic, and when new this home was probably great. But the lack of maintenance and regular serious cleaning has greatly deteriorated property.

There was no working A/C and we were not notified before our arrival.
Vacasa was well aware that the A/C was not working in the home and never reached out to us to let us know. The home was 89 degrees during the day. I called Vacasa and local management to help us and there was very little response. They offered us a refund of 25.00 per day to make up for not having A/C. What a joke.
They do not have Bear Proof Trash cans. Bears got into the trash and they did nothing about this as well. We spent the rest of our trip staring at garbage that was strewn all over the lawn. Disgusting.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
I WILL NEVER RENT FROM VACASA AGAIN.

We stayed at the Cub Inn in July, 2022. The house was a former B&B so it had plenty of room for our party of 14. The layout was great and we loved the deck off the living room area. The house was dated a bit and was superficially cleaned, but that’s to be expected in a rental. The unacceptable issue however was the AC, or lack thereof. This is July so daytime temps were in the upper 90’s. When we arrived on Saturday, the AC wasn’t working. We called and the earliest they said someone could come out was Monday. Meanwhile, it’s 92 in the house. We escalated to Vacasa to no avail. We bought fans and some of our guests slept outside on the deck. On Monday, the HVAC person arrived and said the owner knew the unit wasn’t working because the motor was bad so they cut off electric to the compressor. He replaced the motor but said the unit is under sized for the house. The AC did work from that point on however the house never got cooler than 80 degrees. The most frustrating thing is we felt we were deceived by the owner given they knew, before we arrived, the AC didn’t work. Vacasa said they would credit us 2 nights stay but despite repeated follow-ups, we were ghosted after our trip.

We were shocked by the unacceptable state of the home when we arrived at the check in time—the house was not properly cleaned, there were bags of garbage left in the common areas (causing ants in the kitchen), and the beds had sheets stripped off with dirty sheets on the floor. The air conditioning was also not functioning properly in 90+ degree F heat. After multiple calls to Vacasa, we were first informed that housekeeping would be there the first night. However, housekeeping never came out to clean and the AC was never fixed. As a result, our group of 20 people had to complete the housekeeping ourselves and go out to buy cleaning supplies, garbage bags, and electric fans to try and cool the house down. Our stay was only for two nights, and our group had to spend precious time that could have been spent together figuring out how to fix the state of the vacation rental. Despite this poor experience, we only received a refund for the housekeeping fee and a small refund for the cleaning supplies we purchased. We are disappointed with our experience for the mess we encountered but also for the utter lack of responsiveness on Vacasa's part.

We loved the house. We had 14 people and had plenty of room. The house was exactly what we hoped it would be.

We loved our stay at the Cub Inn. It was clean, super spacious, and looked exactly as in the images. Will definitely come back if we want to visit Yosemite again!

Beautiful Spacious Place
This place was perfect for our family getaway. There was plenty of room for our big group of 17. Our only regret was that we didn't book for longer. Very peaceful place and clean. It had everything we needed. We would do definitely return again.

Excellent for large groups
Fabulous stay at this home. We had 16 people in this home with plenty of room. 2 rooms on bottom floor, 2 rooms on main floor, and 2 rooms upstairs with multiple beds that are perfect for kids. The BBQ grill worked well, and there was plenty of wood for the fireplace. Yard has a play structure for little ones. Everyday we say deer and turkeys from the large deck. 1 of the deer was an albino, which the kids thought looked like a unicorn. Overall, very pleased with this rental. Thank you.

Great place for a crowd
We had an amazing time at The Cub Inn! We were a friend group of 14, with some couples in the mix. There was plenty of space for all of us, as long as you don't mind sharing a room! The place was beautiful, clean, and we'll-maintained. The house was stocked to a point that it felt more like a home than a rental property. We were more than satisfied with our stay, and hope to be back again!

Family Getaway
The house was enormous and just perfect for all 19 people that joined us. We had space for everyone and then some. It las a nice quiet place to relax and enjoy some down time. The kids enjoyed the games and the outside play area. We will definitely be back.

Amazing place
We had a big group of friends - 18+ people (adults + kids) and spent the Thanksgiving weekend. We had an amazing time. Property is very well maintained and was very close with tons of amenities. Kitchen was fully stocked with high end appliances and cutleries.
Location: Very close to Yosemite NP and downtown Groveland.
Responsive support staff
We got locked out of one of the rooms. I contacted Vacasa support and they immediately sent a person to open the room.
Other times we had to call/message the support, we got the response very quickly.
