Simply beautiful property.... everything I needed to relax, but I wish we had more time there. Two nights was not long enough.
Travel tips: buy your wine before you arrive so you don't have to drive back into town, Restaurants close early around these parts... call before you go! Genoa Bay Cafe was a lovely patio and great food!

What a beautiful, quiet and relaxing property! You can really unwind here. You have access to kayaks and wonderful hikes. Right on the water but close to towns. Definitely a restay! Dog friendly too!

we very much enjoyed the view. Waking up with the sunshine and the sound of the water was awesome. The bed was very comfortable. The wi-fi works great
A suggestion would be to let people know how the shower works, that you have to wait for hot water, that hot water is limited, that there is a steep walk way towards the boat house, that they have to do some groceries before arriving.
And a welcome basket with little soaps/shampoo/snack/extra roll of toilet paper, can be a nice touch for guests who come for a few days only.

This property was incredible. The peace and serenity you will feel there is priceless. The ocean view was spectacular. Whether you sat on the deck or had your coffee in bed you’d be hard pressed to find a better view. I will definitely stay there again!

Beatiful view from the bed. We were lucky to be there on a full moon. Stunning views day and night!

This cozy spot had everything you could ever need to have a comfortable stay.

Spectacular view, cute clean accommodations, good communication with host and very quiet. Close to all amenities in Duncan. We’d definitely come again!

Relaxing getaway. It was perfect for what we wanted. We even saw a few otters. We will definitely stay there again.

We arrived and walked into a Canadian postcard. The property is EXACTLY as described - only the setting is even more beautiful. Birds, boats, seals, sea critters, the sun rises and sets on this spot. The "boathouse" conversion was carefully undertaken - with clean, neutral finishes and well-laid out, fits naturally into the setting. Private, quiet - even though there is another house on the property. Great bed and linens. Check out local restaurants, hike and day trip options. ....Our host, Ronda, was exceptional - clear, timely communications before, during, and after our stay - event patient + prompt when we had to follow up on a silly item we left behind. : / We will dream of our next visit. (Be sure not to miss the steam shower! )

Cozy little place with lots of wildlife. Quiet, clean and comfortable.
I ended up staying an extra night :)

Check in was a breeze and the boathouse was super cozy and was just the right space for 2 and pets.
We had beautiful (but hot) weather and we did find it a bit warm in the early evening, but with the doors open with the screen in place there was a nice breeze.
Was wonderful sitting with our morning coffee looking out over the serene setting, taking note of herons, otters, fish, and even some humans lol.
For activities we went on a couple of nice hikes, took our SUPs out with our doggies, and visited a local pub for my birthday dinner - all in all there's lots to do and the location didn't disappoint.
We would definitely come back!

The boathouse was fantastic!
Host was gracious and kind.
Using the kayaks made the stay extra special.

Absolutely lovely! I’m not sure if it is possible to sleep closer to the oven without getting wet. The boathouse is nicely appointed for a short stay. Lots of wildlife to view from the deck with great sunrises and moon rises. I would definitely stay here again.

Our stay here was so restful, just sitting in the Adirondack chairs and looking out on the water was the best. The place is small, but thoughtfully designed so that it does not feel cramped. We greatly enjoyed the whole community including several nearby pubs. We also did a little hiking. The whole place was just what our harried souls needed.

I would highly recommend this accommodation. The location is beautiful and relaxing and we enjoyed the dock and kayaks. It was nice a clean. A friendly heads up that although this comes up as a Salt Spring Island listing when you search, it is on Vancouver Island. My mistake that I didn't investigate further but ideally it wouldn't show up there.

We loved the views. twas wonderful to sit on the deck in the evening with a glass of wine. Also used the kayak; thanks for that. Also having morning coffee watching the seaplane land and take-off was brilliant.

This little cottage is tiny but packed with charm. If you are looking for a restful getaway this is the perfect spot. There is access to the dock for kayaking and hammocks to relax and read a book.

What an amazing place! Can't praise this slice of heaven enough. Just the view makes the whole experience worthwhile, but the fact that I found in the mini fridge all the necessity for many mimosas and homemade scones was the icing on top. If you come during summer time, I would say bring a little fan(which I did) as it gets pretty toasty in there. The bed is sooo comfortable and the wildlife makes the whole experience so much more magical. I felt like snow white the entire trip, treasure hunting every morning on low tide. Really, I can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely come back.

Stayed 3 nights... cozy beachhouse right on the water. You can hear the tide coming in at night. Spectacular views day and night, interesting boat and bird sightings... Close to the best restaurants in town, which were all marina pubs along the shore drive. Maple Bay is close to many winery tours and excellent hiking ( be sure to walk the Stony Hill Trail near Geneva Bay). Saturday Farmers Market in summer outstanding for the variety of food, merchandise and live music. In July, a famous folk festival held there as well. !0 minute drive away. Also very close to hippy haven Salt Spring Island, a 20 minute ferry ride. The beach house is also equipped with kayaks, if you are feeling sea worthy. You can do all of these things, or just stay on the deck all day, get a tan and drink up the seascape, the ambiance, Like we said the wine ( beer). Ours was a romantic anniversary weekend, and this resort was as sweet as maple syrup ( 100% pure Canadian).

Amazing views. This little converted boathouse offers a quiet and comfortable world class view of beautiful Maple Bay. Enjoyed watching otters, great blue herons and belted kingfishers. There are 3 restaurants on the bay and all are reasonably close. We were disappointed that although the sheets and pillow cases were clean, they were covered with stains.

The “boat house” is so comfortable, clean and inviting and has everything you’ll need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The space is surrounded by the bluest skies, glistening water, a rocky shoreline, framed by the vistas of territorial island, ALL with cool crisp water lapping up at the rocky shoreline immediately below. Don’t miss the opportunity for a swim! Views from every window, your bed, and the deck. You won’t want to leave ;-)
PS Be sure to check out the Cowichan wineries, and the mural in Chemainus. .

This was my second year returning to this property. It’s a magical place to simple “be”.

We had a fantastic stay at the Boathouse, and are very grateful to our hosts for allowing us to enjoy their gorgeous property. It is truly paradise! The views from the bed are stunning; our most enjoyed moments were relaxing on the deck, watching sea lions, herons, sail boats, and float planes passing by. We stayed for 3 nights and the bnb had everything we needed and more. The steam shower was a lovely bonus, the barbecue was great for meals, and we are so appreciative of it being pet-friendly, there were even doggy dishes set out for us. We had a great time, and would love to come back next year!

It was wonderful to wake up to amazing water views.
Owner was very very prompt in giving information and suggestions.
They left us sweet treats and champagne.
Providing deck towels, extra blankets etc. was very thoughtful.
However, the one big thing that spoilt our experience was that the queen size bed was extremely uncomfortable to sleep on and we could barely get any sleep on it.

Fabulous location. Amazing little spot. Nice shower.

Perfect relaxing weekend getaway!

My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and it was absolutely perfect. The views were amazing, we enjoyed the kayaks very much and we definitely got lucky with the nice hot weather in October. Their dog (Bruce) is very lovely and always greeting you with a smile! Loved this place! Recommend 10/10

Great for a few days getaway. Nice bed, great steam shower, beautiful dock and location. Lack of kitchen and kitchen sink makes it ideal if heading out for meals to some of the fantastic local eateries. Private setting. Great hiking and paddling.
4.9
This was an amazing place! Right on the water. Very private. We could watch the sunrise from bed, sit on the deck having coffee watching otters, seals and herons. We could just park our car and walk to hiking, into town to get a beer and great food, and kayak all over the bay. We loved it!

This was a lovely cottage in a lovely place called Maple Bay. It was peaceful and plenty of wildlife. Lots of towns to visit nearby.
4.9
Loved our stay at the boathouse with unbeatable views. Slept with the patio door open so we could hear the waves lapping in and could watch the full moon shimmering on the water from the bed. Next time in cooler weather will try out the steam shower. Being greeted by their adorable dog Bruce everyday was a bonus. Highly recommend!

The property is easily accessed and overlooks an absolutely beautiful bay. There is great hiking walking distance from the property. The bed was quite comfortable. The bbq was in perfect working order and the dishes available were nice quality. The only awkwardness was cleaning the dishes as other than the bathroom there is no running water. The steam shower was a nice experience and access to the ocean was easy. Overall, it was an exceptional stay. Quiet with beautiful views!

The view from the deck (and the bed) cannot be beaten. The cottage itself is crisp and clean with nice stylish touches. I don't understand the complaints about the soft bed - it was heavenly! We were there during an extreme heat weather warning and the deck was too hot to enjoy coffee even in the early morning but it was lovely by about 4:30. We just spent the day in shady places and it was fine. We enjoyed nearby restaurants, (Shipyard, Genoa Cafe, Scottish pub) but none of them have views like the boathouse! We couldn't stop taking pictures. Loved this place!

This is a gem of a little place. The ocean is like glass in the morning and sunrise and sunset are magical to watch from the deck or from your bed. Enjoyed a lovely late lunch at Genoa Bay Cafe nearby as well. A very peaceful and relaxing getaway.

So relaxing and comfortable, modern and clean, would move in tomorrow! Such a nice touch, the hostess provided a bottle of wine and charcuterie board for us, we sat on the deck and enjoyed to view with it - thanks so much.
