About this house rental
Off the grid pristine beachfront escape in historic Fijian house on Nananui-Ra island, just north of the main island in Fiji. White Sand Beaches. Unspoiled tropical island.
Enjoy incredible sunrises and sunsets from your wrap around porch. Walk a few steps and snorkel one of the most incredible reefs in all of Fiji! Stand up paddle boards, hammocks, deck chairs and plenty of luxurious furnishings await for you to find a corner to read, relax, and enjoy sunset cocktails with citrus from the property! Great for families.
Two structures, the main house and private guest house, perfect for 2 families, a romantic getaway, honeymoon, or all around epic vacation. Incredible views from the house, the decks, or the overlook high on the top of the island. Find your paradise in the peaceful quiet of Nananui-Ra island.
The main house has 2 bedrooms, each with king beds loft with queen mattress, full kitchen and 2 baths. The guest cottage has one room with a king, a living room, full kitchen and bathroom. Air conditioning in master and living room by generator. Note: generator cost is not included in fee. Washer and Line dry available.
Solar powered during the day & Generator powered at night. Fuel for generator is NOT included but can be provided at extra cost, around $40 usd per day.
The Island is approximately 2.5 hours drive from Nadi International airport. Access to the island is a 10-minute boat trip from either Ellington or Voli Voli.
The island has a small local population and three modest backpacker establishments, including two small cafes and a basic shop, and approximately 20 holiday homes. The majority of the area is bare land and there are seven principal beaches, three of which are deserted and accessed by boat only.
Close by on the mainland are two resorts with dining and pool facilities. The closest town is Raki Raki, approximately 20 minutes away by car, and this provides good access to several supermarkets and fresh produce at the local markets. A pharmacy and local doctor are also available.
Broadband internet coverage is available on the island abut internet can be spotty during rain and windstorms. The island is without infrastructure (roads, power, water, sewage) and therefore represents a very peaceful, pristine and relaxed environment – very much in contrast with intensively developed resort areas.
Swimming, kayaking, snorkelling, fishing, and diving are the principal attraction. A number of interesting walks and picnic excursions to the three uninhabited beaches (most commonly accessed by boat, kayak) provide variety. There are two dive operators in this area, as well as a board and kite sailing school/hire business.
We have full time care takers on the property. For a small fee, our amazing caretaker would be more than happy to assist you in planning your day, babysitting, doing laundry, etc. She can also cook fresh fantastic meals with local produce and fish. Boat taxi will be made available for going to the mainland for site seeing tours or shopping. Stand up paddles provided, we recommend bringing your own snorkel gear.
We can arrange a trip out to One beach or across to the Wananavu resort for spa and dinner or to explore Rakairakai and the waterfalls. And we have great referrals for Scuba or snorkeling with the top dive shop on the island!
