Lake Lure continues to recover from Helene! Buffalo Shoals Lookout is again welcoming guests. Thanks to ongoing efforts, roads, power, water, and WiFi, are restored. Although the Chimney Rock area, Lake Lure beaches and waterfront are currently closed, there is much that our area has to offer. Enjoy this home as a retreat & “home base” for visiting nearby towns and attractions. Area restaurants, including Lake Lure & Asheville are reopening. Biltmore Estate has reopened. There's public golf at Rumbling Bald, area wineries, breweries, music, hiking trails, waterfalls, all within an hour's drive of Lake Lure. Tryon Equestrian Center pavilion is hosting some of the Chimney Rock businesses that suffered from the storm. Saluda, Hendersonville, Forest City, Ashville, and larger cities like Greenville, SC are great day-trip destinations. This property served us very well, start to finish! Spotless, well-appointed and well-equipped, comfortable, with a convenient north-end location. The property managers were extremely kind, knowledgeable of both the area and home, and provided the correct balance of support without being over-bearing. The views, the movie theatre and game room, hot tub, and BGE kept us entertained while not on the run. The unusual heatwave kept us from enjoying the firepit. We played golf at both Apple Valley & Bald Mountain, toured the Biltmore & hiked Chimney Rock, rented a pontoon on the Lake. We enjoyed dining at the Lake House, La Strada, Victory (3x), Legends, and Black Mtn Bistro. We found the location very convenient (5-min ea) to Rumbling Bald, Apple Valley, Victory Kitchen; 15-min to south-end restaurants and Ingles grocery (btw best vacay grocery ever!); 25-min to Lake Lure Marina/Chimney Rock.When we return to Lake Lure, this will be the first home we check availability to stay! As luxury house managers ourselves, we tip our hats to Sue and Steve. Beautiful and spotless private residence with many activities to keep a family busy. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was stocked with everything, including spices. Kids loved the bunk room. Eleven of us had ample space. Super safe and secure. Easy check in check out. Wildlife was incredible by the firepit. We had a mama bear and 3 cubs visit the first evening! This home was amazing! The kitchen is off the charts! The view is fantastic! The theater room is really great! We enjoyed the hot tub, the pool table and the jacuzzi. We were comfortable not even leaving the property. The fire pit was a lot of fun. We had a few day fires to enjoy. We'll definitely rent this property again! Highly recommended! The management was extremely helpful and responded to our questions immedialtely.

We absolutely loved our stay at this pristine property! The house was beautiful, clean, and well appointed. There was nothing that we needed that wasn’t in this house. The kitchen was FULLY equipped with high-end appliances and everything you could possibly need to cook. We particularly loved having the Big Green Egg because we have one at home too so we felt at home with it. The views were amazing and the fire pit outside made for a great afternoon. One major highlight was the full movie theater equipped with a sound system that is only matched in a real theater. I cannot say enough about this property! It is a definite must-rent if you are in Lake Lure. It felt like we were the first to rent this house because everything seemed like it was brand new. We come from a tourist area in NW Florida, so we understand how important a rental group is and these property managers were amazing. They were responsive and happy to help with anything we needed from the moment we got there until the time we left! We highly recommend this rental!!!

The pictures do not do this house justice because with the natural light it was even more beautiful than you can see in the pictures. The view of the lake and mountains was amazing. Our 20's aged children used the hot tub , theatre room and pool table every night. It has a lot of great spaces to be together and plenty of space to be alone. We were a party of 6 adults but there was plenty of room for two families to stay together. The kitchen had more than enough supplies for us to make dinner every night and we really enjoyed using the "egg" grill. We had great communication from the owner about all the details of our stay. We enjoyed going tubing, white water rafting and chimney rock. We would definitely stay there again for another week next summer.

The home was beautiful.
We especially enjoyed the fact that these owners shared every possible thing with their guests when it came to the kitchen, pantry and laundry. After 30 yrs of renting properties in NC, I have never experienced a kitchen that had everything you could possibly want or use in it and such high quality.
The downstairs was also a dream for my teenage grandsons (and their parents). They went home planning a movie room for their house.
Because this house sits on the mountain side, they took advantage of Corn Hole in the small flat area in back.
Because Rumbling Bald, the private area, ran along the lake, it did take 20-30 minutes to access the lake, beach and marina. I believe this was mentioned in the description. What I had not realized because this was our first trip to the area, was that we were across the road up high and we had no ability to walk near the lake at all.
The one view we had was beautiful, but certainly not easily accessible without the drive.
Sue, the realtor, was phenomenal. I really never had a complaint, but if there were any questions or comments, they were answered in a matter of minutes via text.
Our hike up Chimney Rock on Saturday and my daughter-in-law and my trip to Hendersonville were my highlights. The men “rode” horses through the river on a very hot and humid day. We had a fantastic lunch at River Watch. All other meals were cooked at home and eaten at the table for 8. We also utilized the Green Egg.

A beautiful, comfortable house with quiet surrounding.
My whole family, that made up of nine adults, ranging in ages 23 to 81, were all very happy with the accommodations. Everyone had a bed, plenty of things to do and enough space to spread out or gather to enjoy their stay. The management company were very helpful and quit to respond to any of our needs.
I would certainly recommend this property to anyone who asked my opinion.

My family had a wonderful stay in May at Buffalo Shoals Lookout. They had everything you could want and more... movie room, game room, hot tub, fire pit! And plenty of space for many guests. Large kitchen with everything you could possibly need. Lovely view of the lake and mountains from the deck. Close enough to a large grocery store and several restaurants to keep you well fed. Lots of lake activities, and hiking trails. I was even able to bring my mountain bike and try the steep trails at Buffalo Creek Park nearby. Asheville is about an hour away with lots of options for things to do as well.

What an amazing stay I had, it was the perfect break I needed! The view of the lake was terrific and the house itself was stunning. If it wasn’t so beautiful outside at the fire pit I would have been in the game room or movie theater all week! The house was very well decorated and it fit exactly what I was looking for. Next time I’ll have to get in the hot tub more but overall I had a wonderful stay here
