Lake Lure continues to recover from Helene! Buffalo Shoals Lookout is again welcoming guests. Thanks to ongoing efforts, roads, power, water, and WiFi, are restored. Although the Chimney Rock area, Lake Lure beaches and waterfront are currently closed, there is much that our area has to offer. Enjoy this home as a retreat & “home base” for visiting nearby towns and attractions. Area restaurants, including Lake Lure & Asheville are reopening. There's public golf at Rumbling Bald, and area wineries, breweries, music, hiking trails, waterfalls, and more within an hour's drive of Lake Lure. Tryon Equestrian Center pavilion is hosting some of the Chimney Rock businesses that suffered from the storm. Saluda, Hendersonville, Forest City, Ashville, and larger cities like Greenville, SC are great day-trip destinations. By choosing to visit, you’re supporting the local businesses of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Western NC.

Open floor plan Great Room, Dining Area and Kitchen. Two Bedrooms with queen beds and a Full Bath are just off the Foyer. Great Room has HD Smart TV, gas fireplace and comfy seating. Dining table seats 10, plus 5 seats at breakfast bar. Great Room opens to the deck with outdoor heater, Green Egg grill, a separate gas grill, outdoor seating. The Kitchen has large island, tons of countertop space, 2 sinks, large refrigerator/freezer, wine refrig and pro-quality cooking appliances. The house was amazing! So many cozy, comfortable nooks to hang out in. The weather wasn't the greatest while we were there, but the house made up for it. Our age range was 4-58 and everyone LOVED the house - especially the game room and movie theater! It was so much better than we even expected - and we have very high expectations! Well done!!

We enjoyed staying at this property with my 93 year old mom. Very clean and for our purposes, perfect amenities. We enjoyed the home theatre room on two nights during our stay. Kitchen is very well appointed, and views were impressive. Loved it...love Steve and Sue Gage...and will hope to come again!

This home was amazing! The kitchen is off the charts! The view is fantastic! The theater room is really great! We enjoyed the hot tub, the pool table and the jacuzzi. We were comfortable not even leaving the property. The fire pit was a lot of fun. We had a few day fires to enjoy. We'll definitely rent this property again! Highly recommended! The management was extremely helpful and responded to our questions immedialtely.

This property is one of the best vacation homes I have stayed at. Ticks all the boxes and then goes beyond expectations. Spacious, beautifully built and decorated, full of amenities and conveniences. We absolutely loved our stay at this pristine property! The house was beautiful, clean, and well appointed. There was nothing that we needed that wasn’t in this house. The kitchen was FULLY equipped with high-end appliances and everything you could possibly need to cook. We particularly loved having the Big Green Egg because we have one at home too so we felt at home with it. The views were amazing and the fire pit outside made for a great afternoon. One major highlight was the full movie theater equipped with a sound system that is only matched in a real theater. I cannot say enough about this property! It is a definite must-rent if you are in Lake Lure. It felt like we were the first to rent this house because everything seemed like it was brand new. We come from a tourist area in NW Florida, so we understand how important a rental group is and these property managers were amazing. They were responsive and happy to help with anything we needed from the moment we got there until the time we left! We highly recommend this rental!!!

The property never disappointed- from the views from every window, the great kitchen, movie night, rocking in a deck chair to enjoying an evening campfire around the fire ring. The house surpassed the photos and descriptions posted. A perfect spot to return to!

We had a wonderful week at Buffalo Shoals Lookout. The house was beautiful and very clean. The kitchen was well appointed with everything in great condition. Check in and check out we’re seamless. The property was truly perfect with fantastic lounge spaces and close proximity to activities. We had a large group so the number of beds was great, and having so many community areas was a treat. The pictures do not do this house justice because with the natural light it was even more beautiful than you can see in the pictures. The view of the lake and mountains was amazing. Our 20's aged children used the hot tub , theatre room and pool table every night. It has a lot of great spaces to be together and plenty of space to be alone. We were a party of 6 adults but there was plenty of room for two families to stay together. The kitchen had more than enough supplies for us to make dinner every night and we really enjoyed using the "egg" grill. We had great communication from the owner about all the details of our stay. We enjoyed going tubing, white water rafting and chimney rock. We would definitely stay there again for another week next summer.

The home was beautiful.
We especially enjoyed the fact that these owners shared every possible thing with their guests when it came to the kitchen, pantry and laundry. After 30 yrs of renting properties in NC, I have never experienced a kitchen that had everything you could possibly want or use in it and such high quality.
The downstairs was also a dream for my teenage grandsons (and their parents). They went home planning a movie room for their house.
Because this house sits on the mountain side, they took advantage of Corn Hole in the small flat area in back.
Because Rumbling Bald, the private area, ran along the lake, it did take 20-30 minutes to access the lake, beach and marina. I believe this was mentioned in the description. What I had not realized because this was our first trip to the area, was that we were across the road up high and we had no ability to walk near the lake at all.
The one view we had was beautiful, but certainly not easily accessible without the drive.
Sue, the realtor, was phenomenal. I really never had a complaint, but if there were any questions or comments, they were answered in a matter of minutes via text.
Our hike up Chimney Rock on Saturday and my daughter-in-law and my trip to Hendersonville were my highlights. The men “rode” horses through the river on a very hot and humid day. We had a fantastic lunch at River Watch. All other meals were cooked at home and eaten at the table for 8. We also utilized the Green Egg.

Each year 3 couples get together for a week someplace in the North Carolina mountains. This year we decided to be a bit lower but have a lake view. Buffalo Shoals fit the bill. Great house with a nice view from the decks out back of beautiful Lake Lure. Plenty of room in this house for our group. Spacious bedrooms,a fantastic game room, a home theater and a great kitchen for our amazing cooks! We did enjoy a couple restaurants for lunch located on Lake Lure.

This home as everything you can want from an awesome fire pit, amazing open concept kitchen with everything you can need for cooking, a private deck with amazing views, a theatre room and great bar room with pool table and games. Our family of 10 had an unforgettable Thanksgiving! ThePictures do not do this house justice. It is beautifully appointed and has everything our family needed. From the well stocked kitchen to the multiple coffee makers to the theater room , game room, hot tub, privacy, comfortable beds and beautiful views this house has it all. Extremely clean and beautifully decorated! Sue and Steve were awesome. They answered questions before we could ask. The house is so well maintained we never needed them after check in. I did like the call Sue requested we make after check in. A perfect time to ask any questions and we were given an update on everything pertaining to the house.

A beautiful, comfortable house with quiet surrounding.
My whole family, that made up of nine adults, ranging in ages 23 to 81, were all very happy with the accommodations. Everyone had a bed, plenty of things to do and enough space to spread out or gather to enjoy their stay. The management company were very helpful and quit to respond to any of our needs.
I would certainly recommend this property to anyone who asked my opinion.
