We loved the private beach (with water toys provided), the quiet location, and amazing views from the deck. The host was a great communicator and the cabin had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

Access to the dock was treacherous and rugs were slick on the floors. The view and directions to get there were great

Nice clean linens. Pretty setting. Paddle boat stolen so we never got to get out on the water. Disappointing. The camp across the way was very noisy with loud music and singing with microphone. Would have preferred if they went inside. Nice owners.

We are yearly renters on Lake Hayden. This year was our 12th year. We stay over 2 weeks and are very familiar with the lake and how other rentals and host work. We found this rental to be lacking in many areas. The location is actually perfect and right across from the sand bar. Unfortunately the access to the dock would definitely be a issue for any young children, elders, or people with difficulty walking. Not because of distance but because of the erosion and poor upkeep and stairs crumbling and buckling. Mice were a huge issue and got into all our food and grossly could be heard running across drop ceiling in downstairs bedrooms while sleeping and the kids who slept upstairs got scared listening to them chew through food in kitchen nightly. It was a big problem and all food dishes had to be washed before every use because we constantly found feces on them and on bathroom counters and floors. We had many issues with plumbing and although host tried fixing it once and did give us a 10% refund it is definitely a problem that needs to be tended to for future guest or just plan on only using one bathroom after paying for 2. We rented this cabin for 15 days and there was only propane for 2 nights on the BBQ. When asked for more the host agreed and then took over 5 days to come and get tank. By that time we had already filled it because we had a family to feed. Sadly we were disappointed by many things but still love Lake Hayden and it’s beauty...just not this cabin or host

First, the positives: my family (with 4 kids under 12) had a great time playing in the water and fishing right from the dock. We played on the beach all day every day and loved it. The kids had no complaints whatsoever.
When we arrived, there were 10-20 boats right in front of the property blaring music and partying. Apparently, everybody comes to the sandbar right in front of this property to hang out. In addition, right across from the property is a resort. They had some sort of camp there with buses constantly coming and going. The groups could be heard singing/playing music well into the night.
As soon as we walked into the cabin, it rank of cigarettes. We immediately opened every window in the house, which did fix the issue.
The house does have a decently long staircase down to the water. The stairs themselves were in need of repair. The old staircase could be seen in the lake below - looked like the hill caved in. The new stairs were uneven and not nearly as nice. One guest (65+) was not able to easily get to the beach/dock area, which was disappointing. The beach pictures in the ad must have been taken when the lake level was very low water. It was smaller than pictured. The dock needs additional flotation. Small waves regularly washed over the dock. Fishing from the dock while it was windy was more like wading.
The fridge made a loud, weird knocking noise.
Dishes were not clean when we arrived - lipstick on glasses in the cupboards, etc.

We had a great time celebrating my GF's birthday at this beautiful little cabin on the lake. It was comfortable and in a great location. The dock made it easy for us to use our paddleboards on the lake and go out to the sandbar. Great weekend!

Absolutely beautiful mountain lake get-away!
Cabin is in a stunningly beautiful location. Something for everyone here. Fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, or just enjoy the breathtaking lake set perfectly within the surounding mountains. Secluded location yet perfectly located to enjoy all Northern Idaho has to offer from Sandpoint to Coeur d'Alene. Diana was amazing to work with, very helpful and quick to communicate. You will not be disappointed!

Perfect getaway
Perfect place for large family or two families to gateway and hangout on the lake. Conveniently placed right across from a sandbar on the lake that you can swim/boat/or even walk to depending on the time of year. Beautiful fish that can be seen from the dock through the clear water.

Great Family Getaway...if you are able to go with the flow.
We had a lovely time getting away from it all before school started in the fall. It has a quick walk down to the dock and a tiny little beach to sit and dip your feet in. The ONLY issue, and it really didn't bother us, but may be an issue if you are looking for peace and quiet, is that the property is located at the end of the lake where all the boaters have decided to congregate and party together, drink all day and late into the evening. They play loud music and are pretty loud in general. So a tranquil lake experience it was NOT. But we were able to go with the flow. Otherwise, a nice little cabin to get away from it all for the weekend.

Great stay at the Lake
Nice stay, we enjoyed the peaceful lake, the property is very clean. Lots of amenities. The owner is easy to get hold of for any issues. This property would be most comfortable for 2-3 adults. or 2 adults and 2-3 small children.

Ideal Spot and Incredible Views
We had such a wonderful time. I loved the cozy feel of the cabin and the incredible views. It is a bit of a drive but we were warned and had everything we needed.
I would definitely rent this place again. It brought back incredible childhood memories. Lake life in that area and the stunning beauty. The cabin has such character and so perfect for our family.
The only concerns i had were some nails that were sticking out on the dock. The cabin was really clean but needed a deep clean in cupboards, drawers, etc. .
Overall, an incredible stay. So grateful for the memories we made and waking up with coffee to those beautiful views.

Perfect family stay
We highly enjoyed our time, playing games, having a cozy fire, and swimming. The water was shallow and warm which made for a good combo for kids on a cooler day. The listing spoke of a canoe, but we didn’t see one, and the paddle boat wasn’t working. We did enjoy the kayak. I would definitely recommend this cabin to friends.

This was our first vacation in this area and we’ve been impressed with the lake and surrounding forest. The location is quiet and remote so your passengers will start enjoying the wildness in the last 20 minutes of your trip :)The house is solid and well-maintained, we didn’t have any technical issues during our stay - everything worked as intended. Beautiful lake view, small sandy beach and boat dock are three gems of this place - we spent most time outdoors, sunbathing, boating and just relaxing on the large deck. Kids love to swim and play with sand. The house is located in the small gulf so motor boats and jet skis didn’t bother us and this part of the lake is generally safe and quiet. There is a sandbar on the opposite shore where you can just stay in the water in the middle between two shores and many boats come over the weekend and people play and relax in the water all day long but on the weekdays this area is usually less busy. We’ve been here in August, when the weather was hot and dry. The bedrooms are located in the basement so they stay cool (but not cold) and we didn’t use heater or cooling as the temperatures inside always were in the comfort level. The kitchen and bathroom are stocked with all necessary items and equipment, there are some board games and 4K TV in the living room is connected to YouTube and streaming services so all your needs are well-covered. Fire pit in the front of the house is a great way to relax in the evenings and nights are so dark so in the good weather you can see a lot of stars. Overall it was a great vacation and we hope to come back again!

Memorable Lake House
We loved our stay at the darling home on the lake. There were enough beds for 10 of us, 4 adult and 6 kids. The walk to the dock is a bit steep for small children or my elderly mother but overall we managed. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed to enjoy the week. Our kids and cousins absolutely loved their time here! Roasting marshmallows around the campfure at night was lovely as well. The boat house had life jackets for all and we enjoyed the paddle boat. Hayden Lake was pretty warm compared to other lakes around and we swam everyday. We also rented a wakeboard boat and they delivered right to the dock! This was the best week and we would definately love to return next summer. Thank you!

Great family get away
We had a fantastic time, we had 4 teenagers and planning something like this was risky but they had a great time played games and swam a lot! We also visited Silverwood which was also a great experience. We ventured into town and went to an escape room if you haven’t done that that is a must do! Lots of family time, this was a vacation to remember also if you enjoy fishing my husband had a blast catching a lot of fish in the canoe

Beautiful Setting!
Cozy cabin right on the lake with beautiful lake views! Plenty of wood for the wood stoves and heated blankets on the beds. Not much of a cellphone signal, but the WIFI worked perfectly so it wasn't missed. Directions to the cabin were detailed and easy to follow. It was a bit too chilly to enjoy going out on the lake, but I can imagine it would be perfect during the summer!

The cabin is fully equipped, quite a neighborhood and relaxing place to spend time with family. We have not met the owner, but she communicates well through email or text. She provides all the information we need.
