This charming 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom retreat is the ideal spot for a weekend escape, a vacation, or holiday gatherings. Enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and mountains from the entire front of the home, including the kitchen, dining room, master bedroom, and bathrooms.
Conveniently located just 25 miles from downtown Asheville, this home offers both adventure and tranquility. Explore nearby attractions such as the Cataloochee Ski Area in Maggie Valley, kayak on Lake Junaluska, browse the local shops in Waynesville, or tour the magnificent Biltmore House in Asheville.
The lake features a scenic paved trail that loops for nearly 4 miles. Amenities include a large playground, tennis courts, mini golf, pickleball, sand volleyball, a basketball court, shuffleboard, a fitness center, and a library. You can also rent canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards; we’ve recently added kayaks to our collection for your enjoyment. Plus, a beautiful golf course is right across from the lake, with several more courses nearby. For outdoor fun, enjoy our collection of yard games on the spacious, flat front lawn.
This home has a special place in our hearts. Originally built by Zac’s grandparents in 1960, we’ve recently renovated it to preserve its unique character while adding modern comforts. We look forward to creating new memories and traditions here, ourselves, and are thrilled to share this special place with you.

We had wonderful stay at Zac and Kathleen's home. Anything you need is there, and it's well organized so you can find what you need. I loved the location because the driveway is flat and it's right there along the walking path. We would absolutely stay here again. Kathleen was communicative, proactive and helpful. Thanks for everything.

We walked the lake, made use of the kayaks, ate at wonderful local restaurants and just relaxed and enjoyed the serenity and beauty of the lake and the area.

The house is beautiful. Very comfortable and clean. We were there for my grandaughters wedding and it was magical! I love the house and would definitely recommend it.

I highly recommend this house for a wonderful relaxing stay. It is updated with everything you need to enjoy the beautiful area of Lake Junaluska and Waynesville. The host is great to work with and goes over and above to help. The house is perfectly clean and has the best view of the lake and mountains. We loved it!

I love the area, but now I can include our home away from home ! The home was very clean, roomy, & homey. The location had easy access to the walking trail, to restaurants , and was as peaceful & quiet that I had hoped for. Thank you again to Kathleen Carswell for a wonderful weekend!

This was by far the cleanest rental I have ever stayed in. From the very beginning, Kathleen communicated with me and let me know all the details, even local recommendations and tips. Her friendly, warm demeanor made us feel like we were staying at a friend's house! There are so many things about this house that I love. The charming vintage feel is perfect (and the upgraded fixtures make it sparkle), and the setting is stunning. It's right across the road from the lake with mountains in the background. It's a beautiful view from the kitchen table. We cooked most of our meals at the house, and it had everything we needed (pans, utensils, oil, spices, etc). The beds were super comfortable and the furniture by the fire place was so cozy. The game table was a hit--our teenage daughters played for hours. It rained while we were there, so the closed garage was super convenient. I really can't say enough about this house and about Kathleen. She left thoughtful gifts for us upon our arrival as well--so sweet! I highly recommend staying here; you will love it. I can't wait to book it again in the future.

The house and location exceeded expectations! Entire process was easy. Communication with the owners was excellent. The house was spotless and nicely decorated with attention to detail to make our stay comfortable. It was plenty spacious for our family of 4 adults and our beloved golden doodle. This was a big plus to be able to bring the family dog. The views of the lake were amazing and perfect spot to read. We appreciated that there was enough seating to be comfortable. One bonus that isn’t always common in the mountains is the driveway was flat and spacious. Can’t wait to return!

We’ve been vacationing in Waynesville for nearly 20 years. We’ve always stayed in mountain rentals. Lake Junaluska changed our plans. We fell IN LOVE with all the property has to offer. The house was clean and comfortable. Our dog loved the flat large front yard and we walked the lake route every day. Sunday morning we walked to the Crepe house for brunch. We couldn’t have asked for more and Kathleen checked in several times to make sure we were comfortable! We would love to visit again in the summer but it is already booked up. If you are thinking of renting this house, don’t linger! It is worth every penny and we look forward to our next visit.

This pet friendly house was the perfect stay for our trip to the Polar Express in Bryson City. The house was lovely and gorgeously updated. We had great views of Lake Junaluska and enjoyed several walks on the paths in the community. The property is very convenient to downtown Waynesville and activities in Maggie Valley. Communication with the host was great and she took the extra steps to make the stay and experience great.
We are already looking forward to a return visit in the summer.

This renovated 1960 lakefront home with the open floor plan and gas fireplace is perfect for a family (5) to use. The view from the front of the house of the mountains and lake is wonderful! We enjoyed walking on sections of the paved trail around the lake ... so much to see in such a beautiful setting. It was an easy drive to Waynesville for the Apple Festival.

I cannot say enough good things about this house and area. We are 2 retired couples who spent a week there. The house is so comfortable and roomy that we had plenty of room without feeling cramped. We loved having the lake right in front of us and we walked around it everyday. Location is wonderful-just a few minutes from grocery stores and more. The hosts were the best we've ever had. Available and wanting us to enjoy our stay. House is well supplied with everything you need. We highly recommend this rental. Cannot wait to return. Waynesville has wonderful shops and restaurants.

Wonderful home with an incredible view! Very relaxing location, loved proximity to other attractions and loved Lake Junaluska. Great place to have a quiet walk while enjoying fantastic scenery. Hosts were very responsive to all questions.

We definitely enjoyed our stay at Lake Janulaska. The home faced the lake and our family enjoyed the amenities of the community and the lake itself.
The house was very comfortable and very well stocked, it was clear the owners had spent time making sure what renters would need was available.
Communication with the owner was easy and the response was quick, very friendly and concerned about our stay.
One suggestion: would recommend that the trash from previous renter be taken care of before trash day, perhaps an extra trash can.

Peaceful, Clean, Well Appointed home with an Amazing View. Location is perfect for walking, accessing the lake activities, shopping in nearby Waynesville or Maggie Valley, etc. Highly recommend!

This property was just as good as it looked in the pictures and then some. It was the perfect location to all Lake Junaluska has to offer, but was private and had a big yard where the kids could play. We even went fishing right across the street. Kathleen was very attentive and seemed to truly care about the guests having a pleasant stay and providing amenities that set their house apart from the rest. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will be back again. I highly recommend this property!

Nature is everywhere you look, and the people are very friendly. There is so much to do around the Lake and the surrounding areas. Home is very clean, comfortable and well stocked with supplies and amenities. The Owners are very responsive and helpful. There was a welcome gift bag with local items that was very nice. We also enjoyed going to the nearby sites (Like the Great Smokey Mountain Train Ride in Bryson City) and local restaurants in Waynesville. Lake J and the surrounding areas are a must see and hope to visit again!

I wish we could have stayed longer. It was such a relaxing trip. You cannot beat the lake and mountain views, nor the promixity to the walking trail. This is a very special spot.

We had the most wonderful stay. The weather was beautiful which allowed us to enjoy walks around the lake. The house was wonderful and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. We cooked in several nights and enjoyed the lake view from the dining room. We had a birthday celebration and also had a friend join us for part of the week. It was a restful time, which we definitely needed. We will certainly be returning!!

We had a great stay (we stayed 7 days 6 nights)! The views of the lake were beautiful! Everything in the cabin was very clean and in proper working order. While we stayed we encountered some frigid temperatures -2 and the heat and fireplaces and hot water worked perfectly! We never ran out of hot water! Kathleen is so sweet and very responsive, and recommends new adventures. She is so sweet as if she is a member of your family. We even received a nice care package when we arrived with a bunch of local favorites coffee, soap, and local jam! The house is stocked with all necessities, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, zip lock bags, Saran Wrap and so much more. The house is in a great location close to everything (Waynesville, 30 minutes to Asheville, and 45 minutes to all our other favorite small towns). There is even a security guard who drives around the community to make sure everyone is safe! We are so happy we found this special place and can’t wait to start planning our next trip there.

Everything was wonderful! The house was so clean! The views are stunning. The location couldn’t be more convenient! Beds were very comfortable. The owners were very responsive. We have zero complaints and can’t wait to visit again!

If you LOVE staying right on a lake, with gorgeous mountains all around, then you should be very happy to stay at this beautiful home. My friends and I absolutely loved this house , with it’s 2 gas fireplaces, to it’s updated kitchen, to it’s gorgeous front yard- we were stunned at the beauty all around. Kathleen was SO available when we had a question. The established walkway took us around the perimeter of Lake Junaluska, for a gorgeous walk when ever we chose. Perfect place and perfect location!

We absolutely loved our stay. It was even better than expected. The house and the location could not have been better. Kathleen was a joy and made communication very easy . Not to mention all the extras that made it even more special. I picked this location as an in between to explore Asheville ,Waynesville and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Not realizing how much we would truly enjoy just being at the house and the lake itself! The furniture and beds were super comfy! And the yard was a great place for my miniature schnauzer to explore. Can’t wait to come back and stay longer. Thank You for sharing your beautiful home !
