10 of us enjoyed staying here with plenty of room to move around. We had adequate kitchen supplies and fine bedroom accommodations. The house needs some work and some upgrading, but we were glad to have the room for our card games and so forth.

We had a great weekend staying at the Havilah House! It was perfect for a girls weekend getaway - with enough rooms and beds for everyone! The neigborhood is lovely and very private/quiet. The host was really quick to respond to all of my questions and was able to give us good recommendations for the area. They also provided a very helpful welcome book with maps of the lakes in the area, local events throughout the summer and the closest grocery stores/gas stations etc. which was really helpful.
The only issue we had was with the air conditioning in the main house. It was really cold in the basement, comfortable on the main floor and really hot on the top floor. There was only one thermostat on the ground floor, so we weren't able to figure out a solution, but it wasn't a huge deal. The host had plenty of extra blankets in the closets for the folks who slept downstairs.
Would still highly recommend this property and host!

What a great house and a great place to stay! The home had plenty of room for our larger group to get away. It was cozy and perfect. We had an issue with the VRBO app/messaging not working but we were able to communicate directly, the host was easy to communicate with! The location was perfect, and overall exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful area!

Property overall was clean and suited our family well with 5 separate familys and kids. Kids caught fish off the dock. Was a hot labor day weekend and air conditioner did not seem to cool house well, or evenly upstairs to down stairs. Some general maintenance on dishwasher and front glass door could be addressed.
Overall would come back to stay again, beautiful and quite location on a dead end road so no through traffic. Plenty of room for activities outside!

There was plenty of room for all 13 of us with the separate living areas. The kitchen, living room and sitting room was very nice with plenty of sitting areas. There were a few issues we did encounter though. When we arrived, the stairway leading to the entrance along with deck and deck furniture had not been cleaned and was full of sand and dirt. The carpeted areas were very dirty which made up quite a bit of the house (bedrooms, stairs leading downstairs, downstairs living room and the living space over the garage). It also smelled like either mold or tobacco when we arrived. The beach area looked nothing like the pictures. There was no beach area at all. Also, we contacted Josh when the main level refrigerator freezer quit working and everything melted. He did not return the message I sent him, so my son-in-law contacted him. He asked him to pull out the refrigerator and plug it back in which, we tried to do but it wouldn't budge. We let him know that and he never responded back. Luckily we had the downstairs refrigerator to use. Lastly, the driveway had a low area right in front of the garage which collected dirt and mud. You had to walk through it when entering the house thus the dirty carpet. With a few changes and more attention paid to the cleanliness of the home it would be a really nice place to stay.

We had a wonderful time. The house was equipped with everything we needed and it was clean. It’s a very quiet and private area.
My only regret is that the lake wasn’t swimable. Thick weeds and lily pads off the dock. We did rent a boat, so we were able to get out onto the other lakes to swim and cruise.
Overall, it was a perfect vacation!!

We absolutely loved this house! We come together for a family reunion every year and this is our favorite house by far! We had a few hiccups but the manager handled everything with the upmost integrity! Can’t wait to return!

Overall we had a great time. A few things needing attention. Shoveling…almost non-existent to get to the door with the lock box. The youngest ended up practically crawling up the steps as it wasn’t shoveled very well and VERY icy. One in our party fell on the driveway it was so icy as well as going into the downstairs doorway extremely icy. Leaving some ice bite for renters would of been extremely helpful. The Netflix account kept kicking us out of movies and saying there wasn’t enough storage and to delete some apps. But overall we had a great time with the time spent together.

Amazing, large house with 4 bedrooms (5th bedroom was also nice but above detached garage). Josh was awesome to deal with answering questions along the way. Heated garage was nice as the weekend we stayed overnight temps dropped to -20deg F. We didn’t cook at the house but was well stocked with kitchen supplies. Location was off the beaten path and was near the end of a quiet cult-de-sec. Our group liked the property enough that we talked about coming back in the summer or again next winter.

Overall the stay was great. The house had a lot of space and was a nice way for all of us to be together, yet we could split up into smaller groups.
A few light bulbs were burned out and some food items from previous guests were still there.
Location was beautiful and the extra snow added a nice winter touch. Some Christmas decorations including a tree really helped make it feel perfect for our groups Christmas. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for meals and there were plenty of blankets, towels etc. We had brought a few board games, but the kids enjoyed the wide variety there. Thank you for sharing your home!

Great spaces! My wife and I have to adult children and two grandchildren. My daughter, son in-law took the area over garage, other daughter took the basement and we still had empty bedrooms.
It was very quiet being off the main lakes.
The one down side if you bring a boat is the shallow channel to get out to the main lakes and not a good swimming area at the property.
We just boated to the sand bars and hung out there.

Very nice & updated house with plenty of separate space for grandparents + 3 sets of adult siblings with young kids (4 yrs to 2 months). Dock/house fully accessible by boat, although very slow with lots of weed beds. Beach and dock area are nice, but not much for swimming with aforementioned weeds. The on-site grill & smoker as well as several left behind toys, games, and kitchen essentials were all great bonuses to enjoy. Overall a great family trip and looking forward to returning.

We enjoyed our stay and loved spending time on the outside deck. The gas fire table on the deck made it easy to enjoy a nice fire. There was plenty of living space to spread out and the sleeping options for our group of 8 adults was perfect. The main lakes were easy to get to and we enjoyed swimming and stopping at the restaurants on them. My only suggestion would be to add handrails on the staircases going up and down in the house and the staircase carpeting could use a shampoo.

Summer 2022 Family Vacation
We had a great stay on Crosslake! The Rose rental had everything we needed as a family! The bedrooms were spacious! The extra kitchen areas were great for cooking with a large group! The deck had enough room for all of us to be outside! With an awesome view! The kitchen was stocked with enough pots, pans and dishes! So a wonderful place for a family getaway! Joshua answered all my messages within a short time! The place was immaculate! Highly recommend this VRBO!

Memorial Day vacation
We really enjoyed staying here for a week over Memorial Day. Lots to do, rain or shine! The house was great and spacious for us 7 adults. The bay is nice and calm, even on windier days. We had a large pontoon and had no trouble going under the bridge or trolling to the dock. If we do come back to the area, we’d definitely love to stay here again!

Great place for a big group!
This property was perfect for family's girl's weekend. Plenty of room for 13 of us to be together in one space, but enough private areas to hang out in smaller groups as well. The different bedroom areas were nice as well, so those who wanted to sleep in could do so without being disturbed by the early birds.
My only suggestion for the property would be a little more attention spent on winter maintenance. Access to the lower level entrance door (the easiest access from the parking area) and the the steps to the main entrance were very icy and it was a challenge to safely cross - especially for our elderly mom. We also lost the use of one bedroom for our second night due to an ice dam on the roof causing a leak in the ceiling - causing the parts of the ceiling texture to come down. I was able to quickly get in touch with Josh, the property manager, and sent him pictures of what was happening. He sent out someone to look at it right away, but there was nothing that could be done at the time that would leave us comfortable having anyone sleep in that room. Thankfully there was plenty of couch space to make up for the lost bedroom, but removal of excess snow from the roof or warming coils could have alleviated this problem. Even with this little hiccup, the house worked well for our family and we had a great time catching up with each other. Josh was easy to reach with my questions and concerns and I appreciate that.

Snowmobile Vacation
Property manager/owner was great to work with. We were allowed a later check-out, hard to be out by 10am. Easy check-in. Very spacious lots of bedrooms and hangout areas. The main house is updated nicely and has great beds. Easy access to the lake for snowmobiling. Nice big garage to use.
The bed's above the garage and in the basement apartment are not meant for adults. I did inquire about the beds beforehand and was warned that those ones are older. We were very horrified to find mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers in the main house. We did disinfect the drawers and everything in them but from there on out felt like we needed to disinfect everything before using. We are not ok with mice in the house. I would not rent again due to this problem.

Very nice cabin will lots of room
We really enjoyed our stay. We had a relaxing weekend, mostly spent inside due to negative temps. Basement was a little cold. We bumped the heat up a few degrees but didn’t want it to get too hot upstairs. Not a big deal, but an electric heater/fireplace downstairs would be a good addition. Only other minor complaint was very thin toilet paper. Easy fix that would do wonders for all guests. Overall, this place is top notch. We were there in the dead of winter so can’t speak to the lakeshore or outdoor space. We drove a short distance to the Crosslake public access to do some ice fishing. There’s a small bridge with open water that prevented us from taking the snowmobiles through the bay and onto Rush Lake & Lower Whitefish. Josh, the owner, was excellent to work with. Highly recommend booking.

Perfect Thanksgiving
We had an awesome Thanksgiving with our extended family at this beautiful home. The layout was perfect for our group and provided many private places for people to sleep. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more. The multiple refrigerators and ovens were perfect for cooking dinner. The home is beautifully decorated and very warm and comfortable. Joshua was very responsive to all my questions and made the process so smooth and easy. Thanks Josh for sharing your home with us!

Enjoyed Our Stay Very Much
We like the location of the property minus the narrow, shallow channel under a bridge that you must take takw yuuuget the money the chain of lakes. This property is laid out nicely for 2 to 3 families to share!

Spacious cabin on a quiet bay
My family and I enjoyed staying here. The cabin was clean, modern and full of comfortable furniture and furnishings, games and kitchen items. We really liked the gas and the fire pits, grills, yard for our family bags tournament and access to a dock for our boat.

Great family vacation home!
We first reserved this home with the previous owners. I was nervous we'd have issues when they sold, but Josh was great to work with. Communication through the ownership change and throughout our stay was excellent. The only issue we had during the stay was running out of propone for the fire pit on the deck. We sent Josh a text and had a new cylinder in the morning.
The house was clean and we'll stocked. It worked really well for our family that ranged from grandparents to 4 children between 3 and 6. The kids loved playing in the water by the dock, playing in the sandbars on the lake, and really loved taking the boat to some of the restaurants on the lake.
The only challenge with this house is that it is on a very isolated bay off Rush Lake. That isolation was great for a quiet and peaceful stay. It was also a little challenging to get the rented pontoon through the narrow channel into the bay. Just be patient and take it slow and it's not a problem, none of us drive a boat more than once a year and we didn't have any issues.
I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great, peaceful stay.

Family Vacation
Combination of four families (11); thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. Off the beaten path of a very busy waterway; provided peace and quiet and easy access to fishing and water sports. The five bedrooms along with two living spaces and large deck provided amble opportunity to gather or spread out as wanted. We are planning on returning in July 2022. Joshua was readily available for any concerns we had.
