We loved every second of our stay at Cape Harbor Retreat and plan on coming back every year! The house is lovely and comfortable—we especially loved that there are big spaces to gather but also lots of separate spaces for people to read or work quietly alone (including the hammock in the backyard!) And it really felt like a home—the kitchen has everything you need, there are books and puzzles around, and everything felt cared for and comfortable. LOVED the 5-minute walk to the beach and 10-minute walk to the center of town. Loved how quiet it was. I worked part of the time and had space to work and good wifi. Outdoor shower was a hit too. And the host was easy to connect with and very helpful. We'll be back!

We had a great time at this property. Exploring all the different rooms was so much fun. The kitchen is fully stocked, the bar was great. The beach is a quick walk and not a lot of people there. We had a slight issue with the dishwasher, the property management company sent Devon who was very friendly and he fixed the issue immediately. We loved him! This is a great property for family and friends!

Two families of four made our way to the Cape to spend time enjoying kid play time, adult hangout time, and beach relaxation time. This rental allowed us to do all of that in a comfortable setting. We are very likely to return.

It's a great big house with plenty of room for a family. Grand rooms that can fit everyone and more cozy spaces, too. Appliances, AC, Internet all work well. Short walk to the private beach and close to town at the same time. Highly recommended.

Reviewer Comments:
The location of this house is fantastic. Just a quick walk to the beach, though we would drive up, drop off our things and then return the car and walk. The house was clean but extremely dated. The supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, laundry detergent, etc.) were limited and cheap quality. The wifi never worked. I called the 800 number and found out how to get access to additional supplies, which were under lock and key in the shed and put in a ticket for the wifi, which was never addressed. The router is located in the basement and should really be moved to the main living level for a better signal. Details about check in and check out, as well as other details about the house, activities, etc., were not clear and we had to search or call to get information. I would recommend the property only because of the location. The management company was professional, but not really very helpful. I've had better experiences with other vrbo properties.

House was lovely. Management company TurnKey was horrible to work with. We had a situation come up right before our trip where we unfortunately had a death in the family. I contacted TurnKey to see if they would help us adjust our dates so we didn’t loose half of our trip and they had to empathy or willingness to work with us. In a situation like this where it is very much out of our control you would think the company would want to work with you so you want to use them again in the future. I understand companies have policies but in something so out of our control and trying to work with them they did nothing for us. We lost half our vacation and a lot of money.

July 4th in Harwich Port
Our group had an awesome time at the house. The house was very clean and fit our needs. The backyard and patio room was amazing. Would absolutely recommend and stay here again. Happy to leave a review for such a great spot and TurnKey is sending a $20 Starbucks gift card for leaving a review. Win Win!

Everything was perfect except the lack of A/c on the main floor of the home. We were well aware of it prior to our arrival. There were an ample amount of fans but it was not enough. They really should have it repaired before renting it out again. It made it very difficult to enjoy the whole home. May possibly return next summer.

Fabulous vacation for entire family
This is our second year at this fabulous home. We are a family of grandparents, two adult sons and daughters in law, and seven grandchildren ranging from age 11 to 24. Every one of us felt at home, comfortable and found plenty to do. The house is amazing, especially on a rainy day. The yard is large enough for volley ball or just use the hammock. We loved the short walk to the beach where we found warm, clear (most days) water. Side trips included Kayaking and ice cream, shopping and air plane ride over the cape, and lots of bicycle riding. The house was comfortably equipped, everything we needed in the kitchen, comfortable beds and lots of towels. A truly great vacation and can't wait until next year.

A true home away from home
We stayed in this spacious house in August of 2013 and my then 2-year-old daughter enjoyed it so much that she came home talking about "Cape Cod, Cape Cod." I don't think she wanted to leave. We got away from our work in New York City and in a few brief hours, we were in this "home" that within a week felt like a second home. There's something about the owner that makes you feel like invited guests rather than renters.
We could have done a lot of activities that would have us out and about in town. The entire Cape is so accessible from Harwich Port. But, we can go out in New York City any time. We wanted to slow down and enjoy each other. Sometimes that feels like a luxury. Friends joined for different portions of the weekends and we cooked together (amateur chef that I am) and didn't worry about who was driving home. We could put the little one to bed and hang out with friends as late as we wanted. The way the house is set-up, our raucous laughter didn't even wake my daughter. We mostly stayed there because the house was so nice. This was more than a house, it feels like a home. I really got to spend time with my daughter in a special way.
We went to the beach every day simply by taking a short walk down the road. It's that close...no drive back from the Jersey Shore for us. We saw the crowded public beach, but we had access to a semi-private beach with an actual beachcomber checking our names. Even after a few hours in the sun, we were back at the house in no time and vying for the outdoor shower (never thought I'd do that, but you've got to try it... nothing like it). The entire house is clean and we had everything we needed and more to not only cook, but to entertain friends. The owner didn't hide the nice things.
My wife loved it so much she insisted that we beg the owner for a long weekend over the holidays, also. There's nothing like building fires in a fire place and ringing in the New Year as a family. I suspect we will make this a regular stop in our vacation plans. Great place, just don't take the week I want.

Best friends' retreat ever.
Every year we Texans meet up with friends who live in other states. We pick a location, find a house to play Scrabble, cook, and take long walks. Once finding this Cape house, we have become repeat visitors. It’s perfect. The beauty of Cape Cod is unbelievable. The beach is a short walk from the house and it’s a scenic drive to Provincetown, the National Seashore, and other interesting locations with great seafood restaurants.
The house is enormous. There are lots of spacious areas to join in socially, or to curl up with a book alone. The kitchen / dining area is perfect for group cooking or standing around with a beverage while someone else chops and stirs. We had lots of lingering meals in the huge sun room with the bar, but had breakfast always in the front dining area. The bedrooms are good size offering comfort and privacy. By the way, there’s an outdoor shower. We had evening cocktails around the big outdoor table and used the grill several times.
This is a very comfortable well cared for home and it’s kept very clean. It’s a real home, not just a buttoned up rental and a place to relax and return to for many years to come.

Perfect Vacation, Perfect Vacation Home
The perfect vacation house and home away from home! I've been staying here for years and actually pretend like it's my second home. The house is beautiful--clean, lots of space, lots of parking, surrounded on two sides by woods, big front and back yards, hammock, outdoor shower, wet bar, central air, two full baths upstairs and a half bath downstairs (key), washer/dryer, 5 minute walk to the beach with access to the private section, and 10 minute walk to town. Quiet and lovely. We spend almost all of our time in the kitchen around the large dining table. And the bonus room is, well, a bonus--large enough for us to have a very big dinner party. I like the fact that there are great rooms to gather, but that the indoor and outdoor spaces are large enough that everyone can have private time in cozy spaces as well. Since I was there last they've added wifi, which is a great addition! And the owner is a true pleasure to deal with.
Our favorite things to do when we're not in the house: a day trip to Provincetown (45 minute drive) and the tip of the cape for lobster and walking/shopping around town; Herridge Books (the best used bookstore), the drive in movie theater, and the flea market, all in Wellfleet (30 minutes); Jobi Pottery and the dunes in Truro (35 minutes); and a walk into Harwichport--Bonatt's Bakery and a great diner (can't remember the name) for food; Sativa's and isabel's for shopping. Only a 10 minute walk to town (5 minutes to the drug store), or you can do a lovely 30-40 minute loop past the marina, through the shopping district, back through the residential and the beach, to loop back to the house.
I make the trek all the way from Los Angeles every year, and it's well worth it. I'm almost hesitant to recommend this place--I want to make sure it's available next time I head east!--but it's truly too special to keep to myself.

A little slice of heaven in Harwich Port
We have spent time in this beautiful house every summer for the last four years, and we can't wait for summer number 5! The house is so comfortable and inviting, you feel like you are home from the moment you walk in. My husband and I live and work in New York City, and have come to crave the serenity and natural beauty this house and the surrounding area offer. The owner takes great care to make sure all our needs and desires are met - from conveniences like high-speed WiFi and in-house washer and dryer, to luxuries like the glorious private outdoor shower and the heavenly hammock in the yard. We also love the huge "bonus room," which we have spent many hours in, enjoying long lazy dinners with friends, or curled up with a great summer read. And, of course, the short walk to the beach can't be beat! We look forward to many more summer vacations at this special house.

We relaxed - and our kids had a ball!
This rental met all our needs - no small feat for a family with three children (11, 8, and 5).
We loved being so close to the private beach, and we enjoyed what was probably the best day of wave riding in our 20 years of coming to Cape Cod.
But the home was also great for relaxing - and spreading out. The kids loved running around the backyard, and we ate almost every meal in the Great Room.
The house is lovely, and we repeatedly reminded our children to be respectful of the treasures (i.e., piano). But it's accessible for everyone, and my kids loved making their rooms their own (decorating with their stuffed animals and toys).
Final thought: great walk into town.

A little slice of heaven in Harwichport
My family and I rented this lovely home for a reunion getaway last August and we couldn't have been more pleased. The house was incredibly clean and well laid out. The kitchen, which we found to be the central meeting spot, is large and sunny with a kitchen table big enough to fit all 10 of us for meals. Central air is a must for my dad on summer trips and the house was always a very comfortable temp. Our favorite room in the house was the bonus room. Gorgeous with so much light, a bar and tons of room for lounging, dining and game playing. And while the house was great for communal activities, it also has plenty of space to escape for some alone time in if need be (not that I ever needed it - ahem), whether it be reading in one of the cozy bedrooms or napping in the backyard hammock. All that and a 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach! We will definitely be back.
