A trip to the Cape is not complete without lazy days on the shore. Mayo Beach is just 1/2 mile away, and Power's Landing even less to launch your kayak. These are great spots to catch those magnificant Cape Cod Bay sunsets, too! Want to be active? Take a surfing or sailing lesson with a local instructor at Marconi Beach on the Cape Cod Seashore.
Explore the lively art scene in Wellfleet—catch a local show at the Harbor Stage Company, browse Herridge Books, and take home a unique souvenir from The Frying Pan Gallery.
Find fresh seafood fare within walking distance. Sample the sushi at Mac’s Shack or the oysters at Moby Dick’s, both just over a mile away.
Take a tour of the Highland Museum and Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in Massachusetts (7 miles). Walking tours go all the way to the top for an impressive view.
For a change of scenery, take a drive to charming and eccentric Provincetown, just 20 minutes away.

This home was exactly what we needed for a delightful getaway on the Cape! Super close to everything and less than 30mins from Provincetown. Spacious rooms for our small family and a kitchen with everything needed to make whatever we wanted. The upstairs shower was nicer than any at hotels I’ve been in! The outdoor shower was a great option to have after long days at the beach.

Lovely, comfortable salt box cottage with fun modern touches and a well-equipped kitchen made our stay in Wellfleet delightful. The house has two air-conditioned bedrooms upstairs and a full mostly unfurnished room downstairs and full bath that could be used as a bunkroom or playroom for small kids. We walked to town (about a mile away) and the town pier along a busy but scenic road and enjoyed taking it easy in charming Wellfleet for a long weekend. The kitchen was well-equipped for making delicious dinners from the bounty of amazing ingredients available from local farms and stores - you can find farmer's markets in Orleans on Saturday or Wellfleet on Wednesday. And Hatch's in town is the best for produce and seafood. The place is bright, sunny and the beds were comfortable. We rode the bike trail, went to the beach, and did some local hikes, including Atlantic Cedar Swamp Trail at Marconi beach. Highly recommend for a couple or family trip to Wellfleet!

The house was brightly lit and very clean. Minimally stocked with pans and such but great not having to bring sheets or towels. It was also nice having use of a washer and dryer. Great outdoor shower and indoor shower. Nice to have an extra bathroom downstairs, however, the basement was void of any seating. It would have been nice to have a small couch and a tv with cable so the kids had a place to watch tv and play. Overall great spot for a small family or 2 couples. Both bedrooms had ac which was a nice bonus.
Roads are very windy without sidewalks so although it was only a short walk to the town it wasnt a very safe walk. There is a cute little bay beach that was nice to swim at during mid or high tide but otherwise was too mucky at low tide but a nice spot to watch the sunset at night. The house has a nice outdoor porch but was very buggy being sourounded by trees. Overall a great little house. Check in and check out was seamless.

Outstanding vacation experience in Wellfleet
We had a marvelous time in Wellfleet and the entire Outer Cape. This excellent cottage served our needs well and really enhanced our trip; the pictures are an effective and honest representation of the property. Plenty of space within the house and a great yard to provide privacy and the classic cape feeling. You are right in the heart of Wellfleet yet have the privacy of a quiet, wooded property. The cottage is very bright and light inside, yet the shaded yard provides additional space to relax and enjoy the fresh air of Wellfleet.
Comcast had a cable issue with some equipment and the property owner had them scheduled quickly to come out on a Sunday to make the repair. She accommodated our needs and provided a great service experience.
We look forward to our next visit to Wellfleet and hope the cottage is available at that time too.

NICE CHEERFUL PROPERTY
All-in-all it was a good stay for the money. The owner could invest in a bit more furniture, tho, like a few comfortable chairs. Also, I couldn't figure out how to use the TV until my final day there, so instructions for that would be helpful.

Nice place - comfortable and pleasant. Everything clean and tidy on the surface, but the drawers with utensils and stuff could have been more organized. There's a large finished basement but there's nothing down there so it was a little depressing. Also we were attacked by a Robin protecting its nest every time we entered the home. Overall nice, but overpriced for what it was.

The house itself is beautiful and located a short walk from Mayo Beach. It is also only a short drive to the fish and grocery stores and a very manageable drive to the Rail Trail and the spectacular beaches on the ocean side.

A few suggestions
We liked the property a lot, but have a few suggestions. The beds - were very hard. My husband and I both woke up with back pain. This is the first VRBO where we have had any problem with the beds. And if the lock is on the back door, we suggest pruning back the tree that is currently hanging in the path of anyone to get to the back door. Lastly, the A/C was great, but it was cold enough that we didn’t need to use it. Unfortunately, the windows in the kitchen didn’t open easily.
We did enjoy our stay in Wellfleet and recommend this little house to others as a good place to stay!

Dealing with no power and beach parking
The property was as expected. My only complaint on cleanliness was the sheets did not smell clean. This is the first vacation rental I was at with no binder with local contact info and local restaurants or suggestions from previous tenants of places they enjoyed or other helpful hints. Sadly the power was out for almost 24 hours of our 3 night stay, which almost means the water was out too. Considering the neighbors had a generator running I was wondering if this was a frequent event. Also as explained in other reviews, to park at the various local beaches a parking pass is needed. It was just by chance we noticed a form attached to the fridge to take for getting a pass. I would of thought a more detailed explanation of the options would have been helpful. As the vacation planner in my household, I had already spent enough time researching, I really did not want to figure out one more thing. We opted for going to Cahoon Beach for our short stay. You can park at Beachcombers for $20 which gets applied to your bill and you can be in your sandy, beach attire. For groceries we went to Wellfleet market in the downtown area. We tried Nice Ice Cream Shop, which was good and PB Boulangerie which we had pastries at and was well enjoyed by my son who wants to one day go to Paris. We spent a day at Provincetown enjoying the shops and the touristy Lobster Pot with views of the harbor. We also hiked Grand Island Trail, which a portion of the trail had confusing signage. I have noticed on other reviews of VRBOs in this area discussion of walkability - definitely saw lots of people biking and walking the narrow windy rows, but being used to sidewalls and good, sight-lines, I would not feel safe. Overall, the property was in line with expectations for a short inexpensive stay. If I was staying for a week, enhancements to the property would be a more comfortable seating for tv viewing, two more seats at the island and cooking supplies might be an issues, but the French Press was great to use with some local coffee we bought.

Can’t recommend this place enough
This cottage was perfect for our stay in Wellfleet. The location to town & the beaches was perfect, as was the accommodations. We are a family of four and while there was ample space for everyone, the cottage only has two beds. My two sons tried to sleep in the bed but inevitably one ended up on the couch. The lower level includes a full bath and two well-sized rooms. I would recommend this property to anyone interested but would suggest bringing along an inflatable mattress.

Nice house
The property was well priced and in a great location. The only thing that could have been stated more clearly was the access to the entrance. There is many steps involved and if anyone is handicapped like my mother in law who was with us it is very difficult to get to the main floor. Otherwise a great house and well maintained.
