Traditional Ocean Isle Beach Cottage

Enjoy spectacular million dollar ocean, inlet, and island views from the front deck! Clear views of Holden Beach and Oak Island across Shallotte Inlet, too! Close enough to the ocean to throw a football into the surf at high tide. Sweet Carolina Cottage is a well kept, older beach cottage that enjoys the same unobstructed views as an oceanfront home. There is a street in front of the house, dunes, sandbags, and then the beach! Beach access is a hop, skip, and a jump out the front door and down to the Columbia Street public access!

If you are looking for modern and/or the hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach, this is not it! This cottage is the 5th house from the east end of the island on a dead-end street. Not much traffic. Great for walking, running, biking, fishing, sunning, and relaxing! Something to do for everyone! Although it is secluded and relaxing you will find all of the amenities right at your fingertips! Shopping and restaurants are just minutes away and there is a awesome homemade ice creamery just down the street, as well as play ground for the kids!

House was an older home. Paneling was coming loose in some areas, but overall the house was clean and nicely decorated with beach vibes. Great floor plan for our family of 5 adults and 5 kids. Loft over the kitchen area is open to the living area and was especially enjoyed by the kids. I was naive to think we could walk directly across the street to the beach because the description mentioned the nearby public beach accesses. There is a house directly in front of this house which blocks the ocean view, but the lot to the right is vacant and there are no houses to the left, so we did enjoy ocean views. One of my favorite pass times was sitting in the rockers on the front porch. Overall, my family and I had a great time.

Beautiful ocean view. We enjoyed the clean house with cold air conditioning, a short walk to the beach with easy access (no steps), and a nice quiet street.

Overall just OK! Front door had no glass in it which was an eyesore and safety issue. Inside was pretty clean. Outside landscaping looked horrible. There were bugs found in the house. Basically house was old and needed updating.Outside deck had loose boards. But the view of the ocean was fantastic!

We go to OIB almost every year and this was our favorite house! The view is amazing, seriously can't beat it. My extended family was jealous and they had an oceanfront house. Highly recommend, we will definitely be renting again. 😍

We spent spring break here on the ocean. We took our teenagers. The kitchen was well stocked and we ate at the house often. The kids loved riding bikes daily to the Drift coffee shop. There’s a lot to do on the island. We enjoyed long gorgeous beach walks and the sound of the ocean every day. It was so peaceful. Jennifer is great to communicate with. No problems at all. Beautiful space. Photos represent the house accurately. Enjoy your stay!

I just want to say that, even though this was done during a very cold Winnie, time of year, the location, the view, and the property was so inviting and so comfortable that we all had a terrific time. The host were so accommodating and took care of any Need or anything we asked they were just terrific. I would definitely stay there again.

Need more cleaning couches were sandy and the was lottle roaches in the bathroom behind the warmer..I left the house cleaner then i got it..But all and all its a beautiful home and great location..

Overall a nice stay, however the house was not very clean when we arrived. The lights downstairs and on the back porch do not work, which made night time activities impossible. The living area was not even large enough for our family of four, though the house says it sleeps 10. Landscaping needs a lot of work, it looks awful. Location and access to beach were great as were the ocean views.

We loved the house but there were a couple of issues. One of the front steps was broken and a rocker was broken which we let someone know right away. We had to use the back much steeper much narrower steps to carry all of our things in and when returning from the beach we had to use the back stairs and walk through the house to get to the front porch to sit and dry off. On checkout we decided to hand things down to each other at the front stairs because the back were just too narrow and steep. My brother ended up falling and hurting himself by doing so. I was told the first day that they would try to get someone out to fix the stair but that didn't happen. The people before us left the hose on and laying where we had to move it to get to the back stairs. The storage rooms were unlocked when we got there and the ice maker was left on so I had to clean ice out of the freezer before we could use it. I was very disappointed that an effort was not made to get the stair fixed.

There were a few issues upon entering the beach house but once the owner was made aware of the situation she immediately responded in a positive way. It was an enjoyable stay with great views of beach and comfortable accommodations. Would stay here again.

Part of my family went to Ocean Isle for my youngest grandson celebration. This is a very nice house, clean, comfortable (for up to 10 people) and location at the end of the isle is a plus (much less crowded). We felt welcome by Jennifer (the owner) and have no complaints. I wish there were EV charging stations on the island (one of my sons and I drive EVs).

Sweet Carolina Cottage far exceeded our expectations. The house was clean upon arrival, there was ample space and more for our family of 4, and the view from the front porch was enough to book again. We enjoyed every meal on the porch and never left island. Highly recommend!

My family loved our stay and already talking about next summer! The location of this cottage is wonderful! Easy access to the beach and end of the island! The front porch is perfect all times of the day. You can watch the waves roll in with your coffee. Good restaurants close by.

The view from the big porch at the peaceful end of the beach was spectacular. Access to the water was great. Several deck chairs and beach toys in storage plus a handy mini-fridge. The cottage needed some care. No lighting under the deck. Very rough boards of porch. Broken microwave handle. Picnic table buried under lumber from back stair rebuild. Advertised as 3 full baths when it had 2 baths and minimal outdoor sand shower. We communicated some concerns to the owner at the beginning of our stay and never received a response. This could be a really lovely place.

We loved the location of the house! It was perfect for us. We were able to walk to the beach and carry our stuff without any issues. The house was just as described. It was excellent! The cleaning ladies had just left and the house was spotless. We will definetly stay there again if it is available.

We loved the location and the set up of this property.However there were many broken items and even getting into the lockbox to get the keys was very difficult due to the age and condition of the box. EgKey was bent, front storm door broken. Were also told to bring many items that were actually in the house. With some TLC this place would be amazing

Great location. Overall satisfied...wasn't happy about having to provide our own bath towels, kitchen towels and bedding. We drove, but if we would have flown, that would have been an added expense. The previous beach house we stayed in provided all linens.

This house is close to the beach, which was why we booked it. But the walk to the water took a bit because of the refurbished beach and having to walk a few houses down the road to the beach access. The inside of the house was freshly painted, which was a bonus! The beds and furniture were comfortable. We washed most of the bed blankets as they were dirty and/or smelled bad. Their cleaner should prob do a better job for what the cleaning fee is. 😔 The carpet could use a good shampoo but understandable since it was light colored. Well stocked cupboards. Overall a nice place.

We have an annual tradition among friends families and this place offered us a perfect, cozy little get away. It had all the amenities we needed and a great view with a great porch to view it from. The only downside was not having direct access to the beach, having said that, the beach access is not much farther... a few houses down. Also, the bed covers and shams need to be cleaned. Otherwise, a perfect spot to vacation at the beach!
