About this house rental
Valley View from Every Floor with a PRIVATE OFFICE.
3 Minutes to downtown Salt Lake
10 Minutes from the Airport
35-40 Minutes to Park City, Snowbird, Alta, Brighton, Solitude, and Snow Basin
Experience staying in this one-of-kind luxury home situated just above the State Capitol! Sleeping up to 14, the high open ceilings and amazing views from this 1930s-built home will blow you away. Perfectly positioned to reach popular destinations such as park city, downtown, Sugarhouse and 9th & 9th.
This is a 1930s built mid-century modern home with fantastic views from every level of the home. They certainly don't build homes like this anymore! Every time you walk passed a window, you will be blown away at the valley view far below and the city lights at night make for an out-of-this-world experience. This home has been well cared for and the attention to detail, when it was remodeled recently, is amazing. It is extremely spacious with just about 3,000 square feet and 10 foot high ceilings in the living room.
The kitchen and two bathrooms have all been remodeled for modern convenience but still maintain their classic look with original tile work. The kitchen is fully-stocked with a microwave, blender, coffee-maker, and toaster. You'd have everything you would need for cooking for a large group. Just add the groceries! There is also a dining table expander piece in the closet should you need it.
There are two living rooms (main floor and downstairs) with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. The main floor living room features a large window covering most of the width of the living room and this room has 10 foot open ceilings. The view every time you walk into this room, especially at night, never gets old! The downstairs living room is very large and has a massive sectional couch where everyone can relax and watch a movie or play games together. The ping pong room, which also has an amazing view, is right next to the downstairs living room which makes for an overall awesome place to hang out.
The main bedroom, on the main floor, has a wide window featuring the valley view far below. Featuring a bed with a super comfortable queen mattress, there are large closets and drawers where you can put all of your belongings during your stay. The other bedroom on the main floor has a bunk bed with a twin mattress on top and a full mattress on the bottom. There are also two bedrooms downstairs with queen mattress beds. One of the bedrooms downstairs also has a bunk bed with a twin matress in top and a full matress on bottom. There is also an entire laundry room complete with washer/dryer and ironing board.
The upstairs bedroom has 3 windows, 2 of which are corner windows featuring mountain, valley and city-lights views far below. This bedroom also has a bed with a full mattress and an office featuring a desk that can be automatically raised to make it a stand-up workstation. There is also a large computer monitor there with an HDMI cable and wifi printer. The upstairs bedroom/office features a door to a large patio with a BBQ area and amazing views below where you, your family and friends will want to spend a good chunk of your time when the weather is nice. Take it from me, the table and chairs on this patio make for the best coffee drinking spot and the perfect way to start your day in the morning and the best way to enjoy a glass of wine at night looking at the city lights.
Out back, there is a nice lawn to play on and a covered porch with a fire pit and 6 patio chairs. The backyard also features a treehouse/play house featured in the photos has a swing and a plastic slide.
This home certainly will not disappoint, guests usually experience a massive positive surprise reaction upon arrival. For everything this home offers, at a super low price, it is by far, the best deal on Airbnb!
Again, this house is super close to many prime locations:
1 minute drive to Fantastic overlook hike, Ensign Peak
5 minute drive to Salt Palace Convention Center
4 minute drive to Vivint Arena
7 minute drive to University of Utah
5 minute WALK to beautiful Memorial Grove Park
3 minute WALK to the state capitol
Other things to note
Note: The home is on a hillside, with a beautiful view. This means that guests can expect to walk up and down the front stairs to and from the house during their stay as well as stairs in the home. I have not had any complaints so far (only effusive praise about the views and home) but think it is only fair to mention.

Legal Disclaimer that unfortunately I must include, lawyers, am I right ;) ............................. The back yard is uneven with steep and uneven areas. The property overall is on a very steep hill (which provides it with fantastic views) but on the property please only access the front stairway and viewing area, and in the back, the lawn and patio area directly behind the house. All other terrain including the very steep stair case behind the house is uneven and I would ask that you do not go in those areas especially areas of plant growth. Also, the tree fort play area is also not to code...what tree fort is :))) but I have to say it. You must agree to warn your guests that these areas could be dangerous and uneven so only visit these areas at your own risk. Also, the upstairs outdoor patio is very slippery when wet or icy. Do not use when wet, snowy, or icy. If you do use the upstairs patio when slippery, you and your guests agree to do so at your own risk. For security, there is a Ring doorbell with cam at the front door and a corresponding Ring cam at the back entrance and the top patio entrance. Guests can expect to walk up and down the front stairs to the house during their stay as well as stairs in the house. The railings on the stairs in the house would not prevent a small child from falling through it to a small fall (maybe 5-6 feet).

This property was perfect for our stay. Colleagues and I were in town for a conference and wanted a home to relax in at the end of the day.
The views are priceless - morning coffee and evening chats were made more memorable overlooking the mountains. The outdoor patio was lovely.
Kitchen was well-equipped and roomy.
Dave was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend this property!

The house was very private, clean, and had great amenities. The view was better than we had imagined, the ping pong table was fantastic to have as well as the outdoor fire pit! Would absolutley here again anytime I’m in the area.

We picked this location for a family trip, and it was perfect! We had a big age range from 20s to 80s, and there was plenty of sleeping space to accommodate everyone. Beautiful views, tasteful decorations, and a comfortable lounging space. We did a baby shower and 60th birthday celebration; the space was perfect for a family get together.
While not a negative, just know that the kitchen and dining area is small. Perfect for 4-6 people, but not for more. We thought ahead and brought a big folding table for eating outside together, and it was delightful. The grill came in clutch too.

Special memories made and had the space to visit and our 9 year old learned chess and is hooked thanks to the chess board available.
Stairs were a bit to navigate for the oldest of our group. I loved the exercise every day though.

We had a wonderful stay. We spent most of our time in the Living Room with its stunning view.
Dave was very responsive when we had a question.
Great location for SLC access and skiing at Park City.

If you are looking for a unique & eclectic home with INSANE views, you've found it! The location to downtown and the U are AMAZING. It's the mid 1900's meets modern day comfort . . . lots of original details and architecture.
Dave was great to work with - communication was immediate and very easy to check-in and out.
Will rent again when visiting SLC in the future!

Dave helped with any questions we had making this experience beyond five star! With the clean house and excellent location, we were more than pleased. We will book again when we return to Salt Lake.

Construction in downtown SLC (as of summer 2022) makes getting here a bit circuitous, but only adds a few minutes. Walkable to Capitol, Temple Square, City Creek...if you don't mind the uphill return. Very easy access to northbound I-15.
Two bedrooms lack hanging clothes storage, but do have storage for other items. Ample hanging storage in other bedrooms.
+ping pong table!
+rooftop access (weather permitting) via upstairs bedroom
+amazing sunset views
+large refrigerator with ice maker and filtered water

Beautiful vintage home with incredible views.
We had zero complaints about this property. Our children enjoyed the ping pong table and the outdoor play structure. The views are amazing. The home was clean and tidy. Dave was very interactive and responsive. We'd stay at this property again.

Want proximity....to all of the activities listed in title? Plus a super cool, well updated and kept, multi use/room property, in a diverse neighborhood that allows for walking to hiking and city....well, this is the place! Really enjoyed the time, sad to depart...made me feel young, cool, and hip again. Daughter just accepted a job at U of U...so hoping for aligned future availabilities to make this a home away form home...Thanks Dave!

Beautiful property with gorgeous views. House was close to a lot of locations my group and I anticipated to attend. It was also about 10 min from the airport. House was in a quiet residential area so had to remind my group to speak quietly at all times and be mindful of the neighborhood and direct neighbors. However, did not seem to affect us as we spend most of our time in the basement where there was a ping pong table. Overall, great experience.

We had a great 4 night stay at Dave’s place. We really enjoyed the views from the roof top and the big picture window in the living room. Gorgeous sunsets.
The house set up worked well for our group. Kids (young adults) had their own space on the 1st floor and parents and grandparents were on the main floor.
If we’re ever back in the slc area - we’d love to stay here again!

This place is absolutely amazing! I stayed here with a few friends recently for a ski trip and we will definitely stay here again if we come back to Salt Lake City. It’s located very close to the capital, with many restaurants and shops nearby. It’s very easy to get to the highways and about a 35-40 minute drive from the slopes. The house itself is very clean and cozy and offers fantastic views of the mountains and the city. Dave is a great host and is very easy to get a hold of if you need anything. I definitely recommend staying here for a ski trip, sightseeing, or any weekend getaway.
