Our hosts were kind and accommodating, and the cabin was even better than expected! Our family had a wonderful time and even with 12 adults there was more than enough room! All of the amenities were excellent, we're planning to make this our new yearly retreat option!

This was our second visit here and we will definitely be back! The house is comfortable and clean and everyone can have their own space. The amenities are plentiful, including the games, videos and kitchen. We had one small problem and the owner was quick to respond to answer our question. The area is quiet and friendly.

Family of 9 enjoyed the mountain top house for five days. Plenty of in-house fun and entertainment.

Stayed here for family vacation. Excellent cabin, better than advertised. Kids enjoyed game room and watching movies. Adults loved the outdoor fireplace and seating. Not much of a view in the summer (I'm sure when the leaves fall you can see the mountain) but very peaceful and quiet outdoors. Beds very comfortable and the kids loved the bunk bedroom. Would be nice to have some storage space for food since the main cabinet is locked. Ride up the mountain was a tad scary but obviously can't be helped- just keep that in mind with people unfamiliar with mountain driving or pulling trailer/boat. Overall fantastic stay!

The property was perfect for our family celebration of my teenage daughter’s birthday. We were able to cook breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for the whole family. Sleeping accommodations were perfect and satisfied everyone’s needs. We will definitely have his property on our list to visit again.

Great property for our group stay. Plenty of space for us, and the game room in the basement was a nice feature. Great views of the valley, too. Thanks for hosting our family weekend.

Everything was terrific from check-in to checkout. We received tons of information prior to our stay, all of which made our stay more enjoyable. This house is lovely, has a perfectly stocked kitchen, in a beautiful area, super clean and the host was fantastic.

We were here for a bachelorette party and had a wonderful time! The location was beautiful and private, but I will say that it was helpful to have four-wheel drive because of the gravel roads and steep grade. The cabin itself was perfect for what we needed.... everything was very clean and all the beds were comfy.

Beautiful home- we would definitely rent again! House was immaculate and comfortable. We did not tow our boat up to property we used recommended offsite parking which was very convenient to house and lake. Highly recommend renting this house!

This was a beautiful home nestled in the woods at the top of a mountain. The home was spacious, immaculate, well-stocked, and nicely decorated. Our group numbered 14, and we had lots of room to spread out. We did a lot of cooking, and the kitchen had every gadget we needed. The kids loved the gameroom, and we built a fire in the outdoor fireplace every evening. It was so nice that the home was stocked with good firewood. The drive up the mountain takes about 10 minutes and is very twisty, but we loved this property.

Everything the Roost had to offer was great. We enjoyed the shuffle board and outdoor fireplace. Rooms and kitchen were clean and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend the Roost to other people and would stay again when I'm back in the area.

Our family of 5 was very comfortable here during our stay. The home is large enough for everyone to spread out, or spend time together. The games in the basement were enjoyable, and the DVD collection was impressive. The mountain community is very nice, and very quiet. We only met one other family during our stay, and they happened to be out for a walk and lived down the street.
The house was clean and well stalked. They had just about anything you could need in the kitchen, lots of spices, coffee, enough dishes and silverware for what we needed, and pots and pans. The grill was in good working order, and the outside fireplace was great for making smores with the sticks we brought. Beds are comfortable enough, lots of blankets, pillows, and towels for the family.
Raystown Lake resort was close enough for us to visit twice, once to rent a boat and enjoy the lake. Hiking is close by as well, and it was a short drive to state college.
We felt at home and will likely return.

The Raystown roost is a beautiful, comfortable and exceptionally clean house. We were a group of 10 of three generations who had more than enough room to be together or go to separate areas. The bonus for the kids (young & old) was the downstairs game room!
Also, the owner is very responsive.
This is a great place to relax or enjoy the sights.

The Roost was by far the best-stocked VRBO we've ever experienced. Lots of clean fresh linens and towels plus Kitchen essentials (herbs, spices, oil, sugar & flour). The outside fireplace was well stocked with dry ready-to-burn firewood and provided great socializing hours. The Roost has a super area for playing cornhole and the set of boards are of professional grade. For a rainy day or nighttime fun, there is a nice arcade area with table shuffleboard and 2 arcade games. The neighborhood is quiet, quiet, quiet with adequate space between nearby properties ( shielded by plenty of trees and vegetation) Ian was a very responsive host.

This property is well maintained, warm and welcoming. The bedrooms including the beds were very comfortable. Check in process and communication was excellent. Can only imagine what this place looks like during the summer months as the the winter view was awesome. Probably the best place we have ever stayed for a weekend getaway. Don't miss your opportunity to stay here. Thank you Ian and your family for our fantastic New Year's weekend getaway !!!!

Raystown Roost completely met all of our needs for our large family get together the week after Christmas. It had snowed quite a bit a few days prior to our arrival, and Ian communicated with us several times regarding the condition of the roads leading up to the house. He also made the effort to spread snow melt all around the entrance to the house.
We did a lot of cooking during the week, and we found the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare some really great meals.
There were no surprises - everything in the house is exactly as the photos and description of the house are in the VRBO listing.
We all enjoyed the shuffleboard and foosball in the basement - especially my grandkids!
Raystown Roost is located in a beautiful setting. Because of the cold weather and snow we couldn’t enjoy all of the outdoor areas, but we could see how wonderful they would be in warmer weather.

Awesome time with family. The kitchen worked very well for preparing Thanksgiving dinner, with a dual oven. The house was large enough for my family of 5 and my parents to stay overnight and four more that came up for Thanksgiving dinner. Rec room was a ton of fun! Highly recommended!

The house was absolutely amazing. Had everything you needed and some. If you want to get away from it all this is definitely your place! Can't wait to stay again.

The house was as described and perfect for our adventure. Very clean and had everything we needed. Communication clear for getting in and out of house. Has a really cool vintage shuffleboard table and a foosball table that we enjoyed playing. We looked up directions to play and scoring on the internet.
Only suggestion would be to have directions for using the wood stove in the basement. We never figured it out and did smoke up the basement a little trying.
Trees have grown enough that it blocks the view some but was still pretty and the setting was perfect.

What a beautiful property! We had an amazing weekend here with our adult children & baby grandchild. Lots of space that offered plenty of comfort for all. Had inviting bedrooms to relax in. Loved the Lake decor in every room! We went to a local fall festival, then hit easily accessible trail to Balanced Rock in Trough Creek park. Back at the Roost for a cookout & celebration of a birthday! Enjoyed S’mores as we lounged around the outdoor fireplace that evening. Family competitions at cornhole, shuffleboard & fooseball, rounded out the day. Topped it off with a delicious Sunday brunch at the huge dining table! We had a fantastic weekend with our family! Thank Ian! We would love to come back again sometime!

We travelled over Labor Day and this was our first time at Raystown Lake! This house is even more beautiful than the photos. I travelled with my parents, in laws, husband and two children (6 and 9) and the house has everything we needed. The game room was fantastic for kids and the outdoor area was so fun to use at night. They even had cornhole to play outside the house! We enjoyed it so much - thank you to our wonderful hosts!!

This is a lovely property, very clean, beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds and very nice linens. We enjoyed playing the unique indoor shuffleboard and cornhole games. The outdoor fireplace area under roof is lovely and great when rain comes up unexpectedly as it did for us. Ian was easily reached and very helpful. My only complaint is the long steep winding road there, but you are appropriately forewarned.

For an adult trip this house was also perfect! We’ve stayed for a family trip with our children and it was wonderful. We had a rain day so the entertainment, outdoor fireplace and such were perfect to sit and catch up with friends.

Big beautiful house
This was a great, big house where we had a nice little getaway with friends and family. The house had lots of gathering space and a nice game room downstairs. We couldn’t find the cornhole bags, but we all loved the shuffleboard table and many board games available there. Some of the people in our party were bummed out that there wasn’t a tv in the living room or bedrooms, but for me that wasn’t a huge deal. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook and serve. Linens were clean, there were lots of towels. We all enjoyed our stay here.

Nice stay to ride at Allegrippis Trails
7 guys stayed here for a long weekend of mountain biking. Clean, good outdoor space to hang, grill, ample beds, quiet. AC worked well. 25 minute drive to trailhead. We brought food bc restaurants are not that close which was not a problem. Very good communication with owner. Would recommend an SUV for driving as road to the house is dirt/gravel. Overall a very nice time.
