Home is as described in the listing. Well-maintained, good air condition and appliances, placed in the middle of the forest. Close to marina and accommodates a crowd. Large picturesque porch- love the ramp. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire circle. Fairly small outdoor space around the house that is not trees and brush, but great to watch the birds and wildlife. Thanks for letting us stay there.

It was great! We really enjoyed it!

Had a wonderful experience during our stay at Chocolate moose lodge. We had two families coming together for the holiday and away time. The communication was good with management team. Home had almost every amenity you would need (even for Thanksgiving meal). The house was set up perfectly for two separate living spaces for two children under two for quiet time. Can’t even imagine what a summer visit would be like.

Myself and a large group of friends and their families rented the chocolate moose for our annual getaway. The home was beautiful and within a good distance of things to do to keep the little ones entertained. Property manager was responsive when we needed to contact regarding a minor issues as well.

Great house for large group. House layout is perfect with 1st floor master, 2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 downstairs. Firepit is close to house and well built. Decks offer plenty of viewing!

Great house in the woods. Just up for the weekend with some old college buddies for a fantasy football draft. Everyone liked the layout. All amenities were as listed. House was in top shape. Strong wifi network. Did not personally use but was told hot tub was nice. Would stay again.

Our group comes to Raystown every year and this is by far the nicest property we have stayed in. The house is clean and well stocked. The owners are extremely responsive and helpful. We had the best time here!

Our group had a great time at the Chocolate Mouse Chalet this summer! We loved how private and quiet the area was. There was amble space for our belongings. We really enjoyed the spacious deck around the home and cleanliness was overachieved.

While my family had a great time, there were some major concerns that we had with our stay. I already messaged you about the squirrel or animal issue that resulted in the two bedrooms on the top floor to not be able to slept in. Also, the bathroom on the top floor fan's did not work, there was a note stating that to take a shower the fan would need to be run, and without the fan working, this shower was not able to be used. the bedroom on the top floor on the right's door did not latch and the door and the bathroom door in the master suite on the main floor did not latch either. We planned on using the grill but the middle burners did not work, resulting in us not being able to use the grill. Also, the comforter in the basement queen room had various stains on it when we arrived. Overall, my family had a good time because we were all together, as the host for my father's 70th birthday weekend, I was very disappointed. At a cost of 2100 for a weekend, i would not have expected any of these issues.

Exactly what we were looking for. A great weekend getaway with family friends. Teens loved the basement, we all loved the fire pit and the hot tub was clean.

Great Stay! Cabin is clean and very nice! Lot of room and the hot tub was amazing - brand new! We had a wonderful time.

17 of us aged 2 to 66 loved our time together here. The kids loved climbing the dirt hill, hiking and s’mores at the fire pit. We were close enough to the lake that we enjoyed the beach and nearby water park.
Excellent location

We love a nice vacation with our friends and dogs! Had a great time, only wish it was longer.

Home is really very nice. Lots of wood inside with vaulted ceilings. Enough bathrooms and plenty of hot water and water pressure. Geothermal air conditioning worked really well. The weather was beautiful, and all enjoyed sitting out on the covered decks. Kitchen was definitely large enough to cook for our group. Would definitely recommend to others.
To be helpful: Couches on main floor should be replaced. Bedroom on second floor: king mattress was said to be uncomfortable and window blind would not lower. Would have been nice to get everyone around the table to eat together at the same time. Kitchen slider screen door had apparently previously been bent and did not move without effort. It appeared that glass bottles must have been thrown off of the upper deck on the kitchen side into the woods by previous parties, so we had to avoid all of that broken glass area when we took our dog out. Maybe could put some crushed rubber around the deck side of the house for dogs instead of the gravel stone which is hard for them to walk on. Thank you!

NOT worth the price
This property was poorly supplied and in need of updates. It lacked the necessary supplies in the kitchen. There was only one coffee pot for 18 people and had only a few utensils. The kitchen table was wobbly and poorly finished. The water heater stopped working, the lights went out a few times, and the porch lights didn't work. We needed to find the circuit box a few times to keep things going and restart the water heater. Towels were not provided. The two leather sofas in the family room had quite a few patches because of holes, and there was no coffee table. All three pullout beds were old and unbearably uncomfortable. Linens and pillows for the pullout sofas are also not provided. There was no firewood for the fire pit. We were disappointed the property lacked any other amenities that most properties in this price range would have - fireplace, hot tub, game table, pool table, etc. Overall, we were all extremely disappointed in this property and, considering the price, would not recommend it to other families. Seriously not worth it!

Family celebration of Dad's 75th Birthday
10 humans and 3 dogs all gathered together to celebrate our Dad's 75th birthday. The house was wonderful. Lots of space to sit together for group activities, as well as separate areas (the kids could play downstairs while the adults relaxed upstairs). Plenty of couches, chairs and bathrooms for everyone.
We really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit, the nearby hiking trails, and the ample indoor space for cooking/board games/movie nights.
There were a few small issues with the house (a loose door handle, an odd smell coming from one of the bathrooms). But nothing that couldn't be fixed, and the owner was very responsive.
We would definitely recommend.

Great Weekend Getaway
Property was very clean and had most common necessities, as well as cook ware. All the beds were very comfy to sleep on. The area is a little remote and very quiet at night.

We stayed at the Chocokate Moose Chalet for my moms birthday. It was the perfect meeting place for my and my brothers family to celebrate and spend time together and relax. The house was welcoming, beautiful and perfect for the 9 of us. We had more than enough room….. there were rooms we didn’t even use. The host was great with accommodating us on short notice after another place canceled on us last minute due to over booking and he was very communicative as well. Thank you for a wonderful weekend..
Definitely recommend!!!

My extended family (15 people) gathered here to celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday. Plenty of sleeping spaces, well-supplied kitchen and grill to prepare family feasts, fire pit for outdoor gathering and s’mores. We explored local area—Raystown Lake walking trail (couldn’t rent boats as marina closed due to Hurricane Idas heavy rains), Lincoln Caverns. Lots of time hanging out at the chalet to sit on the porch, play games, and enjoy time together. Hosts are wonderful and responsive.

Great family cabin experience
My family just returned from a delightful stay at the Chocolate Moose Chalet. It was easy to find and comfortable for our group of 8. The porch and fire pit area were nice areas for hanging out. We loved the proximity to both Lake Raystown and the grocery store in Huntingdon.

We had a great experience at the Chocolate Chalet, Mike was easily accessible and effectively addressed any questions we had-so appreciate that! Our family from 6months to 90 yrs old enjoyed the home, the deck and the fire pit. We were very close to the lake for daytime boating activities.

Nice house for extended family weekend
Property was very nice and well represented - private with a nice outside area and wrap around porch that gives space for large groups. One concern was the sofabed in the basement, which is not usable.

4th Chalets rental in last 5 years. First time at Chocolate Moose. Always surpassed expectations except for this time. Interior and exterior issues needed attention. Owner responsive but most of the problems could not be resolved during our stay.

It was perfect for our group
The house was huge and so we had enough room for everyone (12 people total; 4 couples and 4 children). It was wonderful having coffee in the morning on the veranda. It rained intermittently for the whole weekend while we were there but we still had a fire going and the kids went exploring in the woods.
It was also good to bring our own sheets and pillows and some of us also brought our own blankets. I plan to do that for my next VRBO. It just makes for a much more comfortable sleeping arrangement.
I gave a 4/5 for the cleanliness because there was dust and cobwebs over the chandeliers in the dining area. The oven was also dirty. The bathrooms and the rest of the kitchen were clean.
The groceries stores were nearby (10 min drive) so we bought food when we got there.
Overall we had a great time!

Beautiful Wooded Escape
The property is beautiful and private. Just a short drive to Raystown Lake and attractions. The kitchen is well stocked with plates, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, etc. Wi Fi is and cell reception are poor, but it was a good reason to unplug and enjoy nature.

Great Property
Very well kept, peaceful and absolutely gorgeous place
