A very lovely home. Very clean. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and about everything else you would need. Nice back yard and very quiet and relaxing place. The host is very easy to contact and he replies back to you fast. I would stay there again. Enjoyed it a lot

We had a short reunion in Henrmantown. Henmantown exceeds what is in the description. Everything is TOP CLASS. Only Suggestion is to keep couple of blankets and sheets. we really liked the electric stove but needs stove top cleaner soap to maintain the spotlessness. Really it is a Home Away from Home.

It was a very nice property. However, a couple of things could have made it spectacular. A couple of more towels, freshly mowed lawn, extra pillows, an actual herb garden, chairs for high top on patio. Also, a little deceiving downstairs. The room was much smaller than what appeared in the pics. And it would've been nice iff all the video games were working. Overall, wonderful experience!

We had a great stay at the Hermantown Hangout. Everything we could need was there and we loved the house. It was a great place to hang out with family members and catch up. Tate was a great host and responsive to any questions that came up.

Quaint, convenient & cozy stay for a couple of nights while our boys were at football camp at UMD. Easy 10-15 min drive to campus/FB Field to watch their activities. Close to great restaurants and other “Duluthian” things to do too! All three bedrooms upstairs, 2 bedrooms good for couples, comfortable beds; other bedroom w/bunkbeds. Main floor with everything you need kind of kitchen, dining and living room. Both bathrooms, one up, one down, with good showers. Didn’t use the basement much, but had good washers/dryers. Nice, safe, private yard/deck area, lots of surrounding trees, as well! Very good, updated house. Thank you for everything!!

The Hermantown Hangout is definitely worth the stay! Very clean, updated, and somewhat secluded. Only complaint is it was a little further from Duluth than I have liked, but was expected when booking. Would stay again if I needed a house this big.

Our Ladies group could not have been more pleased with our Hermantown Hangout accommodation. The online pictures just don't do it justice. When nine ladies agree on something good, your know you've got a winner. The property and house were spacious and meticulous. The decor was wonderful, soothing, and beautiful. The bathrooms were functional, bright, and roomy. The kitchen was very well appointed and cooking meals was easy. The dining room accommodated our group+ easily. The beds and couches were comfortable and plentiful. We had a few neighborhood daytime guests, including elementary school children, and the game room and yard were perfect places for the young ones to 'hangout.' Close to Duluth, it was a perfect place from which to launch our daytrip adventures. You just can't go wrong with this accommodation.
Praises! Praises! Praises!

We stayed at the Hermantown Hangout for four nights in August. The home was well stocked with everything we needed. The location was central for our plans. We visited waterfalls and the Apostle Islands in northern Wisconsin and near Duluth. We also traveled north of Duluth to Split rock Lighthouse. There were several great places to eat in the area. The house was in a quiet area. My granddaughters loved the games downstairs..

On a family trip to Duluth we found this cute VRBO home to stay in. It's not that far from downtown Duluth and is well maintained and stocked with the necessities.

Hermantown Hangout is a very nice place to stay! The accommodations were clean, comfortable and spacious. The location is perfect, it's nestled in a wooded area that's close to everything... Miller Hill Mall, wonderful restaurants and just minutes away from Lake Superior.
I highly recommend this vacation property.

This house was perfect for our wedding weekend, there was plenty of space and beautifully designed. Our family was able to celebrate with us and had a beautiful yard for wedding pictures. The owner stopped by and was very nice and said let us know if you need anything and was able to use grill and firewood. We highly recommend and are thankful for our stay

This was the perfect place for us for a long weekend. It’s cozy, comfortable, and it was easy to “feel at home.” Our teens spent their days skiing at Spirit Mountain, and we explored Duluth and Superior. Highly recommend!

This house was an absolute dream. We have stayed at a lot of short term rentals and this one was outstanding. Super clean, the kitchen is extremely well stocked with quality items. We appreciated the coffee that was provided. There are TWO washing machines and TWO dryers, plus a place to hang dry delicate items. The game room was so much fun and very well done! The beds were all comfortable and had quality bedding. The two full bathrooms were very well done and clean. Do not hesitate to book this property!

This property was an excellent base for our holiday visit to Duluth. Our extended family of 7 people fit nicely, and we used the big dining table a lot, so we really appreciated the comfortable dining chairs and good kitchen setup. Everyone liked the new bathrooms, they are nicely designed. Lots of dishes, sufficient cookware for us, but oddly we couldn't find any knives (thankfully we brought some with us!). Beds were really comfortable, although the basement sleeping setup could use more blankets. The location is near restaurants and the airport, getting into town is easy, and the road isn't too busy to walk on for people who wanted to go on a walk from the house. Internet was super fast, and some of the older set spent some considerable time having fun with the old video games downstairs. Tate was a great host, communication was excellent, and I absolutely recommend this house. Thanks!

We visited, North Shore, Splitrock Lighthouse, Caribou Falls, Duluth and Superior. The property was close to it all for us! The home was immaculate, furnished well & the kids loved the air hockey & Fooseball. Highly recommend it!
Thanks Tate

The Hermantown Hangout was a little farther from downtown Duluth than I was planning on staying, but everything about it was absolutely worth the extra 10 minute drive. The property is easy to get to, and it is situated in a densely wooded area with a sparse population of neighbors (quiet and picturesque). The grounds are as well maintained as the home itself. The interior of the home is absolutely immaculate and tastefully decorated with a modern industrial decor. Paradoxically, the interior of the home appears much larger than you would imagine when looking at the exterior.
The bedrooms were spacious and everyone’s beds were unusually comfortable for a VRBO. The bathrooms were spotless and their showers were a joy to bathe in. The kitchen was more than adequate for our needs and would easily accommodate anyone with a passion for cooking on vacation.
The game room was a massive hit for everyone. There is nothing like a little air hockey or classic coin-op gaming (no coins necessary) after a long day of hiking along waterfalls. Games of the 80’s and 90’s are a novelty for kids today, and a delightful trip down memory lane for adults. Yes, I mercilessly destroyed my kids in Street Fighter II; only the strong survive in this family.
Lastly, the owner/manager could not have been kinder nor more attentive to our needs and to the needs of his property. Lots of little obvious personal touches were scattered thoughtfully about. It would be ideal if we could rent from him every time we travelled!

This is a fantastic property! It is clean, comfortable, and the colors and decor were so calming. The fixtures in the kitchen and bathrooms reminded me of fancy hotels! The game room was great for entertaining the kids, teens, and even dad. The furniture was comfortable and arranged well for conversation and relaxing. We loved the comfy blankets by beds and couches! The property is on a country road with fast traffic, but it is set back and the side yard and back yard provided plenty of space to run and play, so I didn’t feel the kids were in any danger. There was a trail through the woods that provides a pretty walk. We loved the entry way cubbies for organizing all our shoes, coats, etc. The beds were comfortable. The bedrooms with the bunk beds and king bed have plenty of carpeted space for sleeping bags on the floor. Our littlest sleeper slept in the closet, which had a window, glass doors, and lots of space. She loved putting her things in all the cubbies.
Tate was extremely attentive and friendly. He answered all our questions in a timely manner and was always offering to do more. We left an electric toothbrush and his cleaning crew called and kindly offered to send it in the mail (we were still nearby though so we just picked it up).
There is a huge commercial area just a few minutes drive away, so it was easy to get groceries. But the property itself was far enough away from it to be peaceful. It was a short drive to downtown attractions.
Really, the only bad thing is we didn’t book for longer!
Two things to be be aware of:
The ceiling in the upstairs bathroom is slanted. Thankfully, we read a previous review and knew this ahead of time, otherwise I’m sure we would have learned the hard way by knocking our heads on the ceiling after using the toilet!
For some reason, the listing (as of Oct 2022) says the queen bed is in the living room, which it isn’t. There are three bedrooms and four beds (bunk bed, king, queen). I was confused because it says it sleeps ten, but there’s only enough bed space for 6 people (7 if you sleep three in the king bed, which we did with our kids). There is ample floor space in two of the bedrooms for air mattresses or sleeping bags, and the basement couches pop out to full size beds, but you have to provide your own bedding. So just know this ahead of time so you can plan accordingly.
Thank you, Tate, for the wonderful stay! We hope to be back!

Tate, FYI, my brother was leaning on the railing on your front porch and could have broken it, but didn't. It's not safe, looks like it needs to be attached to the house. Otherwise, all was great.

This property provided all the room we needed! The kids enjoyed the basement game room. There was plenty of room for adult conversation inside & out. The kids explored outside. We especially enjoyed visits from deer. The bedrooms were comfortable. The bathrooms well appointed. Neat place.

We loved our stay! The home is so cute, updated, and clean. My boys loved hanging out here. Game room is a huge bonus. Loved the huge backyard with firepit. Great space to unwind, and room for everyone to do their own thing. Nice well stocked kitchen. Comfy beds. Close to grocery stores- super one, Walmart, Costco, and Sam's. Lots of restaurants near by too. 17 minute drive to Duluth's canal park.
Thank you Tate. We would definitely go back.

We had a great weekend, and the house was a perfect fit for us. We grilled our suppers, played board games on the back patio, played arcade games. The house was clean and charming. We will be back next summer!

Church Youth Group Stay
We loved this rental! The house was clean, modern, adorable. Kids loved the game room. We were able to use the campfire ring and chairs outside. Sleeping arrangements worked out well though nobody wanted to sleep in basement alone. A personal note on the chalkboard when we arrived and a thank you note with treats waiting for us made us feel very welcome. Overall a great experience!

Ladies weekend
The house worked great for us! Kitchen was well supplied, good quiet location and not too far from everything we wanted to do, room for all of us to hang out. It does say sleeps 10 but that is not 10 adults. We did bring a couple airbeds so it worked out fine. Had 9 adults and an infant. Didn’t really use the yard as we were out and about much of the time. Would stay here again.

Awesome place!
This was our first vrbo experience, and it was a great one! Tate has done a fantastic job of updating & decorating this charming old farmhouse. There was just two things we thought could be added: the step down from the back door was quite a high one. Just adding a half step more would help people with mobility issues get in & out. Also adding a handrail would be beneficial as well there.
Other than those two things, our family enjoyed our entire stay. Everything was comfortable & welcoming. Thanks again Tate!!
