The home was well decorated, clean, and had a great space in the living room for conversations! Great location with an easy walk to restaurants, shop, and the subway. Enjoyed our time there for a long weekend.

The house is in a great location, very walkable and safe. The owner was very responsive and helpful. The house is large with lots of space. However the house was dirty with sticky surfaces, bugs, underwear on the floor, blankets and linens needed washed and hair.

The place was well decorated with high end appliances and furnishings. However, it was lacking a few basic amenities. There was no iron, only 3 face clothes (for a place that sleeps 7) and only 1/3 a roll of papertowel. It appeared to be clean but there was a lot of hair in the bathrooms and an ant problem.
Parking was terrible, but ig that's typical for the area. Unless you're prepared to walk a few blocks to and from your vehicle, this may not be the best option for you.
All that being said, the issues where minor and im sure the owner would be willing to address them. I would recommend and book again.

Rentals and places are what you make of it. We enjoyed our stay super close to everything and we did not have any issues with parking. Smooth check in process.

The place was unclean. The third floor bedrooms were unacceptable. The owners belongings are still around VRBO put him on the phone with me when I was complaining, which was totally unacceptable. And the owner was yelling at me. The dishwasher was broken, we ran out of toilet paper, there was a Christmas ornament under a table, there was no lightbulb in the reading area.
My suggestion is find a different place and maybe use a different company.

Beautiful house with plenty of space for a family of any size to relax and spend time with each other. One of the safest areas to of Philly to stay with nice neighbors all around. The host communicates very which gives me a piece of mind when getting all the booking details. Parking is competitive I suggest to come early.

The furniture was soiled and stained, the linens didn’t look fresh, there were dirty socks in the hamper.

Location was great, especially for a holiday trip to the city. As stated in a previous review this property is for sale and its obvious that some things are being worked on and have been worked on to sell. Christmas tree was present which was a nice touch. I definitely felt safe in the apartment. Parking was typical city parking and wasnt a burden.

I was hesitant to book this place because of the mixed reviews, but I can say that, overall, it was a great stay. Here’s the rundown of our experience:
- Great location in a great neighborhood. Easy walk to everything… grocery, coffee, and lots of nice restaurants. Definitely felt safe in the home and in the neighborhood.
- Home is very spacious and linens were clean. King and queen bed were comfortable. The third bedroom is two twin beds and totally set up for children, so not so comfortable for adults. Also, heat rises, so the third floor (where the twin bedroom is) gets very toasty. We think that there is a fourth bedroom up there with a futon (based on what the listing says), but it was locked.
- The home is for sale and it is obvious that the owner’s priority is staging it to sell, not making it a special vacation rental. Aside from the quirky things that other reviews listed (hole in the floor, huge crack in the sink, and other unfinished remodeling projects), it is missing things like garbage cans in the bathrooms, hand towels in the kitchen, toilet paper holders, and other amenities that make you feel like a valued guest. They’ve got random stuff crammed in the corner of the kitchen, tiles stacked on the countertop, and multiple drawers in the kitchen are full of tools and random personal items.
Ultimately, despite some of the quirks, I would stay here again.

The neighborhood is great but big time issue with cleanliness. It looked like someone moved out quickly so we could rent the home. The linens were fresh but that was all. I wish I could post the pics I took. Molded coffee grounds were in the coffee maker. Months of dust & dirty clothes under the master bed. Windows were so dirty we didn’t open them for fresh air. The dishwasher doesn’t work properly so we rewashed the items inside before using. The shag rug hadn’t been vacuumed. It took 8 days to find the tv remote stuck in the couch under a blanket. I have requested my cleaning fee to be refunded since cleaning fees are supposed to ensure the rental is clean but Anthony has not gotten back to me about that.

We totally loved staying here! The property is located within walking distance of a lot of great Philly places to visit! Enjoyed working with our manager! He gave us excellent suggestions for everything! I also loved the Christmas village set up on the street! Looking forward to staying AGAIN!!!

The property was in a perfect location to see all the Christmas events in Philly. House was even decorated for the holidays which was a nice touch. The owner was easy to communicate with and the place was perfect for our weekend. Everyone had a great time.

Property was basically dead center of the cutest square of amazing restaurants, coffee shops and bars! The bath tub and shower was phenomenal and the house was so cozy. Easy to get into but parking is crazy not because of the owner but because of Philly. Made it out without a ticket or and fines.

Overall, we had a positive experience at this listing. I found it to be cleaner than what other reviews mention, the king and queen bedrooms are quite nice, the master bathroom is gorgeous, bonus points that the sofa in the back lies flat into a double-ish sized futon, and the lounge area/family room is accommodating to a medium-sized group of people looking to hang out and chat.
The unt definitely has its quirks. A can't-miss-it-sized hole in the wooden floors on the 2nd floor? A large crack in the sink of the ground floor half bathroom? Perhaps it was unintentional to leave a room on the 3rd floor ajar, but it was odd - a large pile of clothes, a rack full of more clothes, pretty unclean (I feel like the owner could charge more if they made it into another bedroom?). The bedroom with the twins upstairs is unrenovated and hot to sleep in, unlike the rest of the house.
The owner seems nice and welcoming. He let us know of all of the best spots in the area, had some drinks/coffee for us in the kitchen, and ensured we had the WiFi password early. That being said, it took us a while to check in, as there were no check in instructions listed and it took longer than I thought it would to call/text the owner to get the PIN to the front door. We were just waiting outside for 20-30 minutes, waiting for a response to my texts/voicemails. The unit is in a wonderful neighborhood with great shops, restaurants nearby... and oddly the owner always mentioned how valuable the property was and how much other properties in the neighborhood were selling for. Cool, I guess.
That being said, it is what it is, it's a pretty good unit, we had a good time. If you've got a decently sized group and want to be in this neighborhood, this is your go-to.

My family and I recently booked this property as out of town travelers who would be staying in the city for my 1 year old’s surgery at CHOP. We decided to book a home instead of our usual hotel so that we could have more room as my parents and oldest son would also be joining us.
To put it mildly, this has been the worst VRBO experience, by far. I am a frequent traveler with VRBO and therefore, decided to take the risk of booking a property that was a “new listing” and had no customer reviews. That was a mistake and my hope is to accurately represent the property so that other travelers do not have the same experience.
Review of the home and major complaints:
⁃ strong, musty odor immediately upon entry into the home
⁃ Hole in flooring upstairs- HUGE safety hazard
⁃ used/dirty washcloth left in shower which we discovered upon arrival
- large stains on both living room chairs which deterred us from using them
- bright red stains on bed linens on 3rd floor bedroom (Note: this bedroom was not pictured in the VRBO listing and therefore cannot be “compared”. The room was not represented visually whatsoever.)
- The AC in the home was only cooling on the 1st level and therefore, the sleeping quarters on floors 2 and 3 were not habitable due to the heat. The owner was adamant that the unit was “properly functioning” and that very well may be- but to me, that is irrelevant as I can PROMISE you, the bedrooms on floors 2 and 3 were beyond uncomfortable. The issue isn’t that the unit is “not broken”- the issue is that it is not sufficient. Especially when the outdoor temperature is 95+. The main floor temperature was not an issue, but unless 5 adults and 2 small children- one of which recovering from major surgery- slept in the kitchen/living room… we would have been miserable. Needless to say, we chose to pay for hotel accommodations and I am out a pretty penny as the owner refused to give validity to any of my concerns and therefore, refused any reimbursement. (Thank goodness my credit card company agreed to reimburse me in full after supplying proof of misrepresentation).
As you can see in the host's responses to other reviews, I was told multiple times that my complaints were unfounded and that this home is worth "X"- which is irrelevant. However, the most ridiculous (and insulting) part was his conclusion that my complaints were due to being "nervous" about my daughter's surgery. Insane.
I would not recommend this property to travelers.

Philly Trip
Pros: Really enjoyed the neighborhood and the surrounding area. Lots of quality walkable restaurants. Other main attractions were a short uber ride away. Parking was a bit challenging but not a major issue.
Cons: As noted in the one review, the overall cleanliness was poor, and this home has a lot of unfinished work that needs to be completed i.e. vents w/o covers, missing wood in the upstairs floor, etc. The sofa in the main room was highly stained, and overall furniture quality was poor and or dirty. The sink in the main floor powder room had a significant crack in it. The master bedroom lamps had no light bulbs. There were 2 frying pans, that were highly scratched and unusable. We stripped the sheets on one of the beds (then stopped) bc the mattress had multiple stains on it. There's more but you get the idea.
This could be a great VRBO but it needs to be made clean and comfortable for future guests who plan on having a clean home to enjoy on their trip.

Decent place in Philly for the right group of people
This property served us well for our time in Philly. However, there are a few things to be aware of, that I wish we knew before we booked.
1. This property is in south Philly. We knew this based on a map before we booked, but having never been to Philly before I had no idea what that meant. The streets are extremely small, and parking is difficult to almost impossible to obtain. I mention this because if you’re planning to drive a car in, you may have to park blocks away from the house. We were able to move the car closer the next morning, but then we just used Uber because we were terrified to lose our spot.
2. The host is extremely kind, and easy to communicate with. I feel like by the time you’re reading this review these issues might be resolved, but for us there were concerns over cleanliness. The floors had crumbs, the counters had some stains, there were areas upstairs with clutter in closets. There were also broken locks on front windows that made our security feel a little more tenuous. The house itself is beautiful, and well decorated inside. We were told the owner was switching to a new cleaner and would have a handyman fix the windows but that didn’t happen during our stay.
3. This house is old. Not a bad thing but it has very small areas, like the main floor bathroom. If you weigh more than 180 pounds sitting on the toilet and having room to turn could be tricky. The stairs are also extremely narrow. And steep. People who struggle with stairs or have mobility problems may have issues. There are no bedrooms on the main floor so everyone will have to climb stairs. The stairs also lean (likely due to age of house) so care should be taken. (Don’t run) The master and one other bedroom are on the second floor; the kid room is on the third floor and requires two more flights of stairs.
4. There are some safety concerns, the locks I mentioned before, the security system that doesn’t work (ADT), a back door that locks but could easily be broken in to. There are also some hazards like a piece of missing floorboard in front of the second bedroom. My father almost fell and tripped twice because of it.
5. The beds are comfortable, and the upstairs bathrooms are plenty big and adequate: the master toilet however is also small, and in a tiny closet. If you want a spacious area to relieve yourself, the second bedroom bath is your best bet.
6. There are plenty of kitchen amenities, and plenty of towels, trash bags, and toilet paper.
