Room was small but clean, and had a comfy bed. Tea and coffee making facilities were in the room, and the bathroom was small but had decent water pressure which is really all you need. The location couldn’t be better for Glastonbury! The staff I met were all nice.
Kind of noisy from the music in the pub, even with earplugs. But it’s not a dealbreaker, just need to be aware if it’s not your thing.

Drinks a bit expensive.

Location was brilliant
Small room, very squeaky doors , tv didn’t work, windows old and not opening or locking properly. Bad layout of furniture

The location is great, the bed was comfy and it was reasonably priced
There was black mould along the windows

Cleanliness

The Market House is situated in a perfect location right in the middle of Glastonbury town centre with some parking at the rear of the premises which is marvellous.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, cosy and very comfortable.
We enjoyed it so much we have booked in again to stay there again this Sunday!

Booked a room and received an email saying our check in time had been approved. When we arrived at the property we were told to wait for up to 30 minutes so the guy at the bar could find our reservation details. Poor shoddy grubby standards of hygiene and cleanliness at this property. When we entered our bedroom we found an open bag of old rubbish on the desk which the cleaner had obviously forgotten (?!) to take away. Hairs on bedside tables and behind them in full, plain sight. Everything dusty. Black mould in the bathroom. The only thing that seemed clean was the bed. But the bed was super hard and uncomfortable, and the walls of the room were so thin we were kept awake by noisy neighbours and general staff moving around the pub. Avoid this place until they up their standards. Nobody wants to see human hairs, black mould and someone else’s rubbish when they’re paying to stay there!
Bed was hard and uncomfortable
Walls of the rooms were thin so there’s a lot of disruptive noise, no solitude or peace
Black mould in the bathroom
Old rubbish left in the room by the inattentive absent minded staff who don’t care if a room is clean or not
Human hairs in the room - disgusting!

- great location in town centre
- good value for money

- The music from the bar downstairs was very loud in the room until midnight. Don’t stay here if you want to sleep before then

Excellent location, Rooms lovely and clean and staff were helpful.
Alot of noise from the road (recycling lorry) , but would expect this with the excellent location in the town center.

In the heart of Glastonbury town.
Comfy beds. Nice fresh rooms with fresh towels.
Tea provided. Free parking.
Great breakfast
Bit noisy when there is a band on but staff did inform me which was fine.

Location was central- car park at rear helpful. The room was clean tidy and overlooked the back.
Kareoke session did not stop until midnight. The decibel level was so loud in our room that the TV could not be heard over it. We assumed it would stop at 1130 and when it continued made an enquiry and were told midnight. Staff attitudes were less than helpful. We came down for breakfast at 830 and found the door to the main lounge locked. The shower needs a thorough scrubbing with anti mould and anti limescale.

They found us a quiet room at the back but we needn’t have worried because any noise stops when the pub closes. We would probably have had a view of the Abbey with a room at the front. We were able to park in their car park.
The style- It must have originally been a nice old pub but the menus, even the breakfast menu make it seem like a fast food joint.
There is no one on duty once the pub has closed. Guests let themselves in and out by a street door.

The wonderful staff and locals. Lovely room, very clean .

The location is fabulous, right opposite Glastonbury Abbey, walk to Chalice Wells and the Tor, and the village. Friendly and helpful team.
Wifi must be initiated down in the pub and regularly drops out in the room - very sporadic wifi access which is an issue. The hotel is on the main street, so is noisy at night/early morning.

Good price. Free (but limited) parking. Well placed in Glastonbury, comfortable bed, good shower, good towels, good staff - Kelly was exceptional.
Music until 11:25 one night, breakfast not possible as partner gluten free ( they had been informed on booking); rooms not cleaned/replenished; bathroom only adequate.

Free continental breakfast. Room was fine. A no frills pub. Cheap & cheerful.
A little run down.

The location, the helpfulness of staff, the breakfast and service, and beer were all excellent. The staff were resourseful and let me store my festival trolley in a safe place. The pub / bar had a modern decor and had good sized beer garden.
The double bed was two single beds stapled together, and there was a damp patch by the window which was by one side of the bed. For comfort, that was the downside and therefore I think it was a bit pricey.

Big bedroom, lovely view and great food at reasonable prices
Noise outside in the morning
5.0 / 10.0
The bed was comfortable, though the duvet was too thick and hot for summer. There was no alternative, other than taking out the duvet and just using the duvet-cover as a sheet
Very over-priced.
Booking online, I was caught in a non-refundable booking before being told that the hotel often has loud music at night. And it does. Wednesday night was OK but Thursday loud music started up in room below me at 9.30pm and continued till midnight, followed by loud voices talking outside for some time.

The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. They suggested places to eat and where to find entertainment. Perfect suggestions. Room was amazing. Warning ahead about noise as is on the main street.

Fantastic staff Kelly especially is a credit to the place,
Room very clean, bed best I've stayed away in for a longtime so comfy.
Breakfast fab 👌
My only niggle which is minor was the squeaky doors in hallway at night purely as I didn't want to wake other guest when I popped out.
Maybe wd40 could help 🙂

In middle of town so central easily able to walk to Tor, Chalice well white springs etc. Abbey literally across the road. Goddess centre down road. Room was ok good price. This is key here if you want a cheap stay in middle of everything, perfect. I was happy with what I got for the price . If your using public transport bus stop literally outside door. Perfect if you don't drive as everything in walking distance. Lady that first greeted us was lovely and allowed us to store our bags as our coach got us there hour before check in. Overall fairly nice little pub but maybe go elsewhere to eat and maybe not if your a bit OCD for cleaning. Got to be said though the bed was very comfortable and I actually slept really well and I do suffer from insomnia and struggle to sleep away from home so that was amazing! Would stay again just for the bed! Some fairly decent towels too nice and fluffy. Pillows were even great too. Staff were nice and helpful but seemed a bit rushed/busy at times.
Could be bit cleaner wasn't filthy but bit dusty shower door hanging and wouldn't stay closed bit tiny ensuite to get in and out but we are skinny people and was one night stay so it was ok for us. Food could be better bit touch and go depending on what you order but again I feel price reflects this but in order to keep guests in rooms with you food really needs improving. Chips were awful steak was ok mine was bit rarer than I'd asked but was ok for a tenner but rather pay bit more and have a chef? Drinks menu was totally rubbish and we only had 1 drink there. Could do with more information on check in as one guest kept bothering my companions in another room giving them his rubbish as if they were staff even tho they told him didn't work there. Luckily he dealt with my sister and not me as that really irritated me. He also asked me if I worked there I said no and just walked into my room. We had one night and had to pander to him I'm unsure why he didn't just go to the bar and bother the staff. Also we had a key to side door but someone kept putting latch on (probably same idiot that was bothering my sister) which meant we had to keep walking through the pub and at one point band was playing and it was really awkward as we kept having to walk past them to get to our room. However all that aside I would stay here again as location is perfect but probably only for few nights. Again Price is key.
