The bed was really comfortable and clean.
The room generally was nice and tidy and rustic.
The bathtub was filthy , you could see a layer of dirt around the rim of the tub and the base. When Getting access to the rooms , the stairs were filthy. To be expected I guess but still a little off putting when paying over £211.50 for an overnight stay.
The room was directly over the entrance which was noisy.
When arriving to the pub , we had booked for tea with hopes to try the bar menu. The young man greeted us was lovely but we were literally stood about for ages waiting for the manager to see if the kitchen would allow us to try the normal menu ! We were offered two choices which neither of us liked. We had booked a meal with the intention of dining for evening meal off the bar menu and then using the room afterwards. Unfortunately as soon as we got there it started off negatively which completely put us off. We were only able to have the special menu which neither of us liked and hadn’t originally booked for.

Very good wine list.
Breakfast was only available at 09:30 hrs.

Lovely room, friendly staff.
Long wait for food and everything seemed very chaotic in the restaurant..not sure if short on staff.

The room has been tastefully refurbished with quality furniture and bedding, bathroom was quirky with a mirror that connects to your Bluetooth and plays your music. Very very clean. Included breakfast was delicious.
My room was a tad small. But my fiend’s room, the King Suite, was very spacious and well appointed with a copper bath and shower in the bathroom.
4.5
Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Nice lighting and a generally lovely room.
The bathroom although lovely was very hot as the radiator was on

Beautiful location and stunning service. Nice to be called sir and madam for the entire stay. How a real pub establishment should be ran. As for the food- speechless, absolutley stunning. Well worth every single penny.
NOTHING- apart from the fact that I couldn't take the cuddly cow home !

It was very welcoming. All the staff were helpful . The accommodation was perfect.
We liked everything.
4.5
The rooms were modern and stylish, with excellent bathrooms, but loudly banging doors were a problem at night.
It took an hour from ordering dinner to receiving it. The service was frankly slow and poor. Breakfast was also slow and not available until after 9, which delayed our departure.

A lovely place , breakfast amazing & nothing was too much trouble. We even had a nice Chocolate brownie on arrival , very nice!
It can be a little noisy from the road next to the pub. However , it doesn't really cause any problems.
It can be noisy hearing guests going up/down the stairs / closing doors to their rooms. The main rooms are literally off the main stairs.
Given this I would certainly stay again as the food /location & staff were very good 👍
4.5
The room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed and the most luxurious bathroom with copper roll top bath. The restaurant food was fine dining and an absolute delight. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.
A very minor thing at breakfast was I had to ask for a fruit juice, which was not offered initially. Also we both felt the sourdough bread was not suitable for toasting as the crust was rock hard!
4.5
The bed was very comfortable. Good quality linen and towels.
The bathroom was a little ‘too’ open plan to the bedroom.

taste menu!
nothing

Lovely pub with very attentive staff. We took advantage of the early bird 5 course taster menu in the evening and it didn't disappoint, food was exceptional. Fresh milk kept in a fridge was a great touch rather than uht sachets.
Room could have been a little larger but fine for a one night stay

clean, modern and Bath tub

Mark and the team were wonderful friendly and welcoming, the room was fantastic, with such an air of peace, the bathroom (and bath!) glorious, and food to die for - great wine list too. Lots of thoughtful extras, and always a real feeling of care for the visitors.
Nothing at all!

Food (some of the best I've tried) and staff were amazing! The bath was exceptional and the bed was so comfy!
The WiFi was poor especially in the room. The milk was uht. The toilet was very exposed to the whole room with minimal privacy (no screen or door) these are minimal though and didn't affect the great stay.

Our hotel room with the Copper bath was beautiful! Just as described on booking.com. Newly renovated and so comfy! Can’t wait to return again.
The taster Menu was fantastic, and meeting chef patron Mark was the icing on the cake!

Beautiful room and a lovely little pub.

Beautiful and very large rooms. The copper bath was an added bonus. All done to a very high spec and hosts couldn't have been more accommodating. Would highly recommend

Excellent room and facilities. Lovely Breakfast and had an enjoyable stay overall.
Booked for an overnight stay after a day walking in the Peak District during our Christmas break. Had no idea when booking, only finding out the day before, that the restaurant wouldn't be open on the night of our visit, disappointed further to find out via a phone call shortly before check in, that the bar wouldn't be open either. Probably wouldn't have booked had we known this before. Would advise to check the accommodation website for the restaurant and bar opening times before booking. That said, this is the only reason for the overall score mark down. Would have been a solid 10 had we marked on the room and facilities alone.

excellent choice for breakfast, top quality produce
nothing everything was first class. All staff warm and welcoming

The staff were amazing. So helpful and friendly. We stayed and had the A La Carte menu for dinner. Just incredible. Those cheese and onion profiteroles, wow.
Nothing. It was perfect.

The room was exactly as described and we had lovely service from staff throughout.

Breakfast was excellent, hosts were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were great. We also had a few drinks on the night of our stay and the Bulls Head projects a very cosy relaxing atmosphere. It is also within a short 15min drive from landmarks such as Chatsworth House, which was the main reason for our visit so location was ideal.
The green emergency light in the Double Room was very bright which affected our sleep quality a little bit. Also, the door at the foot of the stairs was difficult to open, not very convenient when it is raining! The above being said, we would happily come back again.
4.5
Everything was perfect. The room was very comfortable with a luxurious bathroom, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was amazing.
4.5
Room was very relaxing and the breakfast was excellent
There is no signal so access to terrestrial TV is via apps (i-player, ITV-HUB, etc..) but the apps (other than BBC i-player) don't provide live streaming so if you want to watch a particular programmer real time other than on BBC, you can't. I appreciate TV isn't everything but there is nothing in the description that advises on this so you won't know you can't watch your favourite programme until you arrive. Also, the pub doesn't serve food on a Sunday evening but only found out when we arrived Sunday evening.

A fabulous little gem of a find. It was bijou snuggled on a country Road in a a beautiful area. The pub had character with new & old. Food absolutely amazing. Staff had great team work & easy to talk too.
We loved everything 💜

Chef Patron Mark was very much available and involved, the room and bed very comfortable with top notch food.
WiFi and mobile signal is weak but that’s the price you pay for a stunning rural valley located
