We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Here are the pros and cons of the place:
Pros:
-beautiful view of the mountains
-there is little hillside and wooded area on one side of house; nice to walk and sled
-house appears newly renovated
-nicely decorated and furnished
-very clean
-very convenient to surrounding towns and the mountains
-owner responded almost immediately whenever we contacted her
Cons:
-listing describes property as "private." not quite. house is right along a two-lane road with a lot of houses on it (although it is in the country). house fully visible to road, and cars go by very fast. so house itself is not private at all, and definitely can't let little kids or dogs out and not have to constantly keep an eye on them.
-there were a few things we immediately noticed upon checking in--kitchen faucet leaking, and backdoor not locking. owner was responsive when we contacted her but there was a lot of back and forth and these were not things that were fixable without having maintenance come by; we were only there a few days, so we elected not to do that. owner seemed responsible so I assume these things would be immediately fixed once we left.
*Just to be clear, neither of the above are dealbreakers at all (thus the four star rating); the house is VERY nice and the view is killer; just be aware of first con above because there's no way to know that with the information VRBO gives you

Cozy and clean cabin with an incredible view. Perfect for us and our dog. The weather didn’t cooperate but the location is great; private but not far from hikes, restaurants and lots of other NH attractions.

Darcie,
Thanks so much for sharing your wonder house with us. Everything was perfect! We are hoping to get back next fall for the foliage.

My husband and I went to see the foliage in New Hampshire and boy did we. The views from the all glass sunroom in the back was well worth the trip. The house was nice and clean perfect for a romantic week with just my husband and I. Even though we never met Darcie she kept in communication with us throughout our stay.

Home was clean and sufficiently stocked. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Working fireplace and wood is easy to find. Home is about 15 mins. north of Plymouth where you will do most of your shopping. Pictures are accurate.

Cabin has a mix of rustic & updated features. It was equipped with what we needed for the stay. The appliances are new (washer/dryer very efficient!), bathroom is re-done & deck and patio are also new/nice. The back windows and deck are awesome for viewing the sunrise and mountains.
Darcie provided us information ahead of time and was very responsive to us when we were there. We had one issue that Darcie had someone at the house within 10 minutes of us texting her. We enjoyed the stay and it was a very good point to access north, south, east and west in NH and Vermont. Here’s a few hints from out stay.
Google maps and Waze think the address is .2 miles further and around the corner.
We have T-Mobile, cell coverage was spotty and internet even less reliable when driving around. This impacts the ability for Waze and Google maps to start. We found we had to start a trip to each of our locations at the cabin, so they were in the memory already. That allowed us to pull up maps using just the phone’s GPS feature.
If road still open, turn right out of the driveway and head down to where it turns into Stinson Lake Road and to Rumney. It is a beautiful drive (on gravel) through national forest land and the trees form a canopy over the road. Stinson Lake is also pretty.
Go to Kancamagus highway, which after driving you can then turn left in Conway and take it all the way around to the north and west, coming back through Franconia Notch Park, only 30 min away.

We loved the property as a whole! The house was very cozy and fit us perfectly. We loved the sitting area in the middle of the house and the fireplace made the room.
The yard was amazing! The sheer size of it was incredible.
We weren't sure, but we figured our hosts had released the deer every morning as that is what we woke up to each day and it was fantastic!
We are a nature loving couple and this place fit us to a T. The peacefulness every morning made us feel so comfortable and happy, we did not want to leave.
When we are in the Plymouth area again we will look to rent this property if it is available.
Thank you Darcie!

Our stay was absolutely perfect and lovely. The home was very clean and set up was perfect. The furniture was all very comfortable, we loved the porch and appreciated everything available in the kitchen. I spent a lot of morning taking long walks and the hills were a great workout! Darcie was a perfect host and great to work with, great communication. We also appreciated the BBQ restaurant near by - great food and wonderful service. Would stay here again!!!!

The Gaelic phrase "Cead Mile Failte" means "a hundred thousand welcomes" and is prominently displayed over the fireplace. Our stay at the cabin felt welcoming and enjoyable. Darcie made sure we had everything we might need. The property itself sits on a high hill which gave us a scenic view of the mountains in the distance. We even had a visit by a large doe the morning we were leaving. Thanks for the relaxing stay.

Lovely house, comfy bed with a view, great kitchen and patio. We had a great stay. The bed was wonderful after our last place had a not so comfy mattress. Views were beautiful of purple mountains. Hikes near by, great place to relax and recharge.

This was our second summer staying at this property. It is in a beautiful country location with amazing views of the mountains. Private location but close enough to town. The cottage is always spotless and has everything and more that we could need. We definitely would hope to stay there again if we are in the area.

Everything about our stay was perfect. It was a lovely cottage with a beautiful large yard. The mountain views were fantastic. It was very private and pet friendly. It was close to a lot of hiking trails. It had everything we needed for amenities. The linens were especially nice. Checking in and out was very easy. Many thanks to the host for sharing the property with us.

The property is very privately located. The backyard was beautiful and the mountains seen out the living room was so pretty. The house is very accommodating and spacious. Lots of utilities and appliances for use. One of the more comfortable trips we’ve taken up north. Thank you!!

This place was amazing! We always love coming to the mountains of NH & finding this property made the frigid subzero trip even more worth it. Taking in the views of the mountains from the giant windows while cozily basking in the sunshine safe from the cold was the best!

We enjoyed our stay in this cozy home which was clean and a great base for a ski weekend at loon, just under a half hour away. Darcie cares about her home and was easy to communicate with. Would recommend and stay at again.

We feel that this property was a great find and lived up to all of our expectations. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable and met all of our needs for a relaxing get away. The two main things we were looking for were dark skies for star gazing and quiet. This cottage more than covered that, with the added perk of a fire pit! The night sky is breathtaking from this location! Not to mention watching the sun rise over the mountains every morning. We were fortunate enough to have clear skies the entire time there. Although secluded and private, we felt near enough to the places we wanted to explore on the “93” side of NH.
Although we had no needs during our stay the owner, Darcie, responded quickly to all communications during the booking process.
This was a wonderful place to stay and would truly love to return!

We were looking for a quiet getaway after a family death. We were lucky Weatherwise was still available. Quiet, rural; yet close driving to many activities. Perfect for hikers, kayakers (Stinson Lake is 3 miles away). Darcie made it known she was available if needed! No complaints at all! Will be back!

The views are beautiful & love the wild flowers growing all around the property. The fire pit is great to enjoy some needed relaxation.
It will be helpful to dog owners to include where to throw their dogs feces since we were informed not to put it in the trash. Adding bigger fans or having an air condition unit will make for a comfortable stay during summer months. Lastly, our dog got his leg caught between the back porch & the house. There is too big a space between & is a hazard for furry friends. We used the throw rug as a bridge so his foot wouldn’t get caught again. At the end of the trip, there was an infestation of little, I think flies, that were in the bed & all over the kitchen wall.
The location, yard & view are fabulous & that is what sold us to vacation here.Next door desecration of trees was unexpected though, not a beautiful sight.
The best restaurant around Compton is the Covered Bridge. So good we went there three times.

The outdoor property was beautiful, the view is stunning. Nice, clean cottage. Plenty of sitting space for two couples. The only reason I didn’t give it 5/5 for everything was the sleeping options. One queen bed in the bedroom, but the double futon was not big enough for 2 grown adults

The house and views were lovely. The house was clean and stocked with everything you could need. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The entirety of this experience has been phenomenal. The booking was very easy, Darcie’s communication was quick and responsive. I can’t say enough about the property: the view is fantastic and can be viewed on the deck while enjoying meals, opening the blinds in the bedroom or the living room through the large picture windows. The patio with a fire pit comes with its own spectacular view of the night sky (download a constellation finder app).
The property is so quiet it’s hard to believe a gas station and a VERY good BBQ joint is about ten minutes away while grocery stores and a Dunks are under twenty minutes away. It’s a short drive to tourist areas like Lincoln, Woodstock and White Mountain National Park, but far enough away to avoid the business of those areas.
I loved this property and would give it ten stars if I could.

Close to Franconia notch!
My family and our dog really enjoyed staying at Darcie’s cabin! The backyard was huge and perfect for our dog to run around on. The cabin itself was clean, had lots of natural light and very homey! We would come back again next time we are in NH.
