About this cabin rental
Welcome
When you lead a busy, hectic, overscheduled life, you need the peaceful, quiet respite that a Georgia mountain cabin rental provides. You’ll find it at Cartecay River Dreams, the perfect place to slow down, decompress, breathe the fresh mountain air, and relax in an idyllic wooded, waterfront setting.
About the Area
Surrounded by trees in a gated community in Ellijay called The Bluffs of Cartecay, this gorgeous Satterwhite-built log home sits on two secluded acres, with over 200 feet of Cartecay river frontage and no other cabins in sight. It’s the ultimate in privacy, but less than two miles to the shopping complex, four miles to the restaurants and antique shopping in Ellijay and just miles to downtown Blue Ridge.
The Spot
If you love the water, you can enjoy it in several forms here, whether it’s listening to the sound of the rushing river from the back deck or the brook from the front yard, soaking in the hot tub, or sitting by the backyard pond. The Cartecay River is just steps from the back door, so you can fish to your heart’s content and grill your catch for dinner on the outdoor grill overlooking the river. The outside areas are designed for outdoor living, with rockers and patio chairs to relax in, a 50” TV, wraparound porches and three fire pits to warm you.
The Living Area
Inside, the cabin is a beautiful mix of rustic elegance and modern comfort, with soaring vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, and large windows overlooking the Cartecay River providing a bright and airy feel and wildlife décor to highlight the nature theme. Reclining chairs, sofa and loveseat, a stacked stone gas fireplace and 65” TV with DVD make the great room a warm and welcoming place to relax and unwind.
The Kitchen
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped and furnished with solid wood cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, an icemaker, coffee maker and more. The adjacent dining area seats up to seven, plus three at the breakfast bar.
The Bedrooms
You’ll slumber in comfort in your choice of three bedrooms, each with luxury bedding, a 50” TV, and ceiling fan. The master bedroom overlooks the river and features a king log bed and zero gravity massage chair, and a private bath with granite counters, walk-in shower, double showerheads, double vanities, and a walk-in closet. The second bedroom also overlooks the river and features a queen log bed. The third bedroom is set up with two twin log beds. Both share a bath with a step-in tub/shower, granite counters and a linen closet.
The Game/Movie Room
The cabin comes with a well-equipped garage game room, featuring a pool table, foosball, darts, A 50” TV and a multitude of board games for every age. The movie room above comes with a 75” TV with streaming service that will keep the kids occupied while parents enjoy some quiet time.
Other Amenities
The cabin’s other amenities include Wi-Fi, Roku, washer/dryer off the kitchen, paved roads throughout the neighborhood and leading to the cabin, a large gravel driveway with plenty of parking available on the driveway or on the parking pad in front of the garage, a fishing dock, and stairs that lead directly into the river. It’s dog friendly too, so you can bring your furry best friend with you as you enjoy your unforgettable getaway at Ruby River Cabin.

House was very nice ! Very well equipped and host was always timely with communication.
The river was all you could want for tubing.
I would definitely stay again.

We go to the north Georgia mountains every year with our family to fish and relax. We had a wonderful time at this cabin on the Coosawatee River in Ellijay. The cabin and surrounding grounds were beautiful and had everything we needed. We’ll book it again.

My family had a wonderful time. The Cabin was very clean and beautiful. We will definitely come back.

We had a great time relaxing by the river! It was the perfect getaway. The accommodations were very nice for our little family. My kids loved being able to fish by the river, warm up in the hot tub after hiking, and enjoyed s’mores by the fire almost every night! The host was even so gracious to help us find something we left behind after we realized it upon returning back home. It was a wonderful week or relaxing and family time, and we will absolutely stay again when we come back to Ellijay! Thank you!

Usually I would start a review with a list of all the positives. In this case, I want to mention the negatives first so that other travelers will hopefully see what I missed. Not only did I miss some of the more truthful reviews, the descriptive listing provided was a bit misleading. This property is NOT quiet and secluded. Directly behind the house is a beautiful river. But then you are looking directly at the back of a paint and body shop that is on a loud and heavily traveled highway. Unfortunately, the noise made worse by dumpsters being emptied. My last complaint is the mention of three outdoor fire pits to stay warm by. There’s one with no starter or wood to burn.
The house itself is great!! Very, very clean and comfortable with everything we needed.
I was looking for a quiet, secluded mountain getaway to enjoy with my family. While we enjoyed our time together, this particular property with the given description was disappointing.

The curb appeal at the front of the cabin is everything we were hoping for. The front yard is very large and the overall appearance of the front of the cabin is very appealing. The neighborhood where the cabin is located is very nice. The furniture in the house was very comfortable. It was a cozy place. The location to the grocery store was very convenient and we really enjoyed the hot tub!
There were some issues with the cabin that are worth mentioning before the next group arrives: The blinds need dusting really, really badly. Only half of the screen on the outdoor TV works. The other half of the screen is black. The water pressure in the cabin was never strong enough for our kids to use their own shower—they used the shower in the master bedroom for the entire stay. Although we knew there would be road noise, we were bummed that it was so loud and so busy. Also, the listing mentioned all the fishing we could do at the cabin. There was no fishing equipment that we could find on the property, which was a huge let down to our little boy who loves to fish. The remote control car in the game room also never worked, which was also very disheartening to our kids who wanted to play with it. The bag of complimentary marshmallows was open upon arrival, so we had to throw them away. We are not a fussy family, so we tolerated the issues with the cabin. However, the next bunch may not be so forgiving.

The property was everything clean inviting
relaxing and the hot tub was amazing. Had a great time with family. The only negative was the directions on the GPS wasn't great and it was hard to find. The furbabies had everything they needed to. Bowls a crate . I took there wireless fence and they to enjoyed the property and privacy.

What a wonderful home away from home! The hosts thought of EVERYTHING!!! Beds & couches are comfy, linens are plush (robes included), tons of kitchen essentials, surprise S’Mores kits, exciting game room, inviting porches & fire pit, lovely hot tub & absolutely beautiful river with easy access! This cabin is PERFECT.
One thing to note ~ Please be aware that this property is right on the river, which is awesome, but directly across the river is a pretty busy highway & the road noise definitely changes the “feel” of the property. You get busy road noise from 6am - 10pm.

Beautiful cabin, very relaxing.

Our family enjoyed this property so much! It was a perfect place for a family getaway. We also loved downtown Elijay and it was a short drive up to Blue Ridge. We would love to stay here again!

FYI mosquitoes were bad in the garage/game room unable to stay in the room due to bites.
The flowers for my mom were very thoughtful and appreciated.
Location and view to the busy road was disappointing.

Had everything you can need to have a wonderful time

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The home was beautifully laid out, the back porch was great and we used the firepit every night. The river views were gorgeous. A little road noise from across the river but didn't detract from the beauty of this spot.

Highly recommend staying at Ruby River Lodge. The location is great; convenient to the grocery store, gas station, downtown, restaurants, boutiques, and antique shops. The host has paid attention to the finest of details. We had the comfort of not just a hotel but that of a home away from home. While we brought our own dog kennel, it was delightful to find there was one provided at the house for our use. Anthony, our host, was very responsive to all our questions.

Great place for rest and relaxation!! Make sure to download the app for directions. Booking process super easy. This property close to everything but far enough out for some much needed rest.

We recently experienced a loss and needed to get out of our house for a change of scenery. This location was just a short road trip from our home and easy to find. We throughly enjoyed this one-level cabin and felt rested and relaxed. There is a busy highway on the other side of the river that is not pictured, but it didn’t bother us at all. My husband also caught a trout and was determined to catch more spending most of his time in the river there.

The house was beautiful and so clean! I couldn’t believe it was pet friendly. The property was flat and very private so my kids and dog enjoyed running around. Every little detail was thought of for example: Keurig with pods, shampoo and conditioner already in the showers, games for kids to play, cornhole, fresh towels located right by the hot tub, etc! We really enjoyed our 2 night getaway

The weekend was supposed to be a 60th birthday relaxation trip to the North Georgia mountains... the house was beautiful but it backed up to the river which backed up to 2 manufactured buildings and a very busy highway 52.
The listing is very misleading and very loud traffi noices and not a North Georgia Riverview peaceful atmosphere.. We checked out on the next day and called it a wash. I suggest that the owner be more transparent in the listing and photos and also there was no pantry. Game room is not heated and was cold. Plug in heaters.
Very disappointed.

We all love this cabin and the location

Ruby River Lodge is beautiful and welcoming to all. The house was fully stocked for all our needs and made settling in easy- from the k cup machine stocked with coffee to the dog bowls filled with dog treats, to the game room and loft! It’s location allowed us to tube/kayak a level 2 rapids (a big deal for us 😁), visit 2 vineyards & a brewery, hike multiple trails, apple pick, fish from our backyard, play corn hole, and make s’mores in the fire pit. And then after an adventurous day, relax with family in the hot tub on the deck. Great vacation!

We had a wonderful time!

This cabin and the property was more beautiful than the pictures! It is in perfect condition and is very clean. My son loved the oversized hot tub. The outdoor areas provided many different spaces to enjoy the creek, the scenery, and time with family. My family and I had such a good time! We will definitely be coming back!

There is not 1 single detailed overlooked by the hosts of Ruby River Lodge. The home is absolutely breathtaking. The attention to detail is out of this world. From a little can of doggie biscuits on the bookshelf, to soft snuggley bath robes hanging in the closet. This place is a wonderful relaxing get away from the hustle and bustle of your life.
The river is stunning, and pretty quick moving in front of the cabin so unless your an expert fisherman.... I wish you luck! We sure had fun catching tree branches and river grass though! Super cool to see people floating down river in tubes and kayaks right out in front of the cabin!
Perhaps our favorite memory was sitting in the hot tub at dusk watching the fireflies zoom around the tree tops! I've never in my life seen so many fireflies in one place!
We definately got to enjoy our fare share of the gaming garage! I had forgotten how much fun a game of Foosball can be!! And that movie room... oh my gosh! Rainy weather during your vaca?? No worries!! Snuggle up on those giant bean bags and watch a movie on the sizable TV while listening to the rain fall!!
Ingles grocery is a 5 minute drive from your little slice of paradise and don't sweat what you grab to cook!! There are accommodations in the kitchen for absolutely any meal your heart desires!! Blender, toaster oven, crock pot, rice cooker... And for you coffee snobs... no worries there either!! I counted at least 3 different coffee pots/pod makers!
If you choose to leave your little river oasis, (no one will blame you if you dont!) Downtown Ellijay less than 10 minutes away is absolutely adorable! Or take a quick drive out of town and visit Cartecay Vineyards and Reeces Craft Cidery located a 1/2 mile from each other, both offer live music on the weekends and super awesome vibes and atmosphere! Not to mention delicious wines and ciders! We spent one morning on a 1/2 mile uphill hike to falls branch falls and had a picnic lunch at the top of the waterfall. It was stunning!!
This cabin is nestled in the most perfect location, offering some absolutely amazing amenities and I've got to honest... we like to vacation. We've been to some pretty amazing spots... this one definately takes the cake on hardest trip to walk away from!! Everyone in the family wanted to move in! If I could give Ruby River Lodge and Anthony a 10 star rating, I totally would! And we, for sure, will be back!!
