About this cabin rental
Cara's Cabin, a charming log cabin from the 1800s, is a cherished part of the Ephraim Historical Foundation. With a delightful blend of vintage charm and modern amenities, it stands as the coziest log cabin in Ephraim. Situated near the serene 26-acre walking trails of the Door County Land Trust, it is an ideal destination for a romantic getaway, solo retreat, or a vacation for up to four people.
Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Door County Land Trust, conveniently located just steps away from the cabin. Explore the trails, indulge in activities like hiking, dog walking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and birdwatching. As our valued guest, you can freely enjoy the provided bicycles, kayaks, and fishing gear throughout your stay.
Inside the cabin, you'll find an open-concept studio-style layout featuring a queen bed and a full-size futon couch. Ideal for two guests, it can comfortably accommodate up to four individuals. The cabin boasts a full bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen, a back deck overlooking the woods, and a cozy propane fireplace. Enjoy the comforts of free Wi-Fi and ROKU TV, and a fully stocked coffee area complete with a regular and Keurig machine.
Outdoor enthusiasts will relish the array of activities at their fingertips. We offer two fold-up kayaks with paddles and life jackets, two bicycles, fishing gear, a fire pit, and a gas grill. Take pleasure in outdoor seating options, both in front of the cabin and on the balcony overlooking the nature preserve.
For those working remotely, the cabin provides a laptop-friendly workspace on the futon and coffee table, complemented by free Wi-Fi connectivity.
We extend our hospitality to both your furry friends and little ones. Your dogs will feel at home with the provided dog crate, bed, toys, and leashes. Please note that a pet fee of $35 per day per dog applies. Additionally, we cater to children's needs with a pack 'n play, high chair, and kid-friendly utensils for your convenience.
Conveniently located on the same property as Chatham Hills, another vacation rental property, Cara's Cabin offers a private entrance, driveway, and parking. While you enjoy your own space, please be aware that there is another property nearby. The cabin provides easy access to all the attractions of Ephraim Village and Sister Bay, merely a one-minute drive or a scenic 10-minute walk to downtown.

1. PET POLICY: Dogs are allowed with prior approval from management at a rate of $35 per dog per day. We kindly request no cats due to allergic family members.
2. A security deposit of $500 is required. You will receive an email after booking to provide your information. This deposit serves as a hold, not a deduction from your account. It is placed one day before your arrival and released following your stay if there are no damages to the property and the house rules are adhered to.
3. We do not offer refunds for circumstances beyond our control. Thank you for your understanding.
4. While the Wi-Fi generally provides fast and reliable service, occasional spottiness may occur due to the rural location.
5. We strictly enforce occupancy limits and do not allow unauthorized guests. We apologize for any inconvenience, but no exceptions can be made.
6. While we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of this advertisement, errors may occur. We strive to keep all information current and precise. 7. Despite our diligent efforts to combat bothersome insects through measures like monthly pest control, regular cleaning, and weekly trash services, be aware that when booking a home in nature you may encounter certain pests beyond our control. The presence of fruit flies, gnats, May flies, horse flies, mosquitoes, bats, mice, and other such creatures does not reflect on the cleanliness of our home. We enjoyed our stay at Cara’s Cabin. It was relatively quiet despite the close proximity to other rentals. It’s a quaint, cozy cabin ideal for 2 people.

Very cozy cabin, perfect for two plus our dog. We all felt welcome! walking distance to the Anderson pier. we realize the second time there was a little side road to take without walking along the main road, which was very beautiful and scenic. Our dog loved it. Although it sleeps 4, I wouldn’t recommending bringing for adults that might be a little cramped two small children it would work. We would definitely come back again!

Neat, cozy, rustic cabin for exploring Door County. True cabin like look and feel with gas fireplace, but all the comforts too..cable TV wifi. Access to bicycles, folding kayaks and grill are a plus. Walkable to center of Eprhaim and short drive to other similar towns and Pennisula State Park. Well organized, neat, clean with responsive host.

Adorable little cabin! Fantastic location. Couldn't have asked for a better little getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay, it is a very old, but very solid log cabin updated with a little kitchen and bathroom added on, but still has a lot of charm. The doors on the balcony open so you can enjoy the view of the trees, and it’s close enough to Ephraim and Sister Bay to get out and about easily to enjoy yourself. It’s nice to not be in a hotel or motel, it feels more private. There was plenty of linens and supplies, and I love that it’s dog friendly! It’s not huge, but it was perfect for me and my partner. It felt very relaxed and cosy, we loved it!

Loved the ambience of the cabin, it was comfortable and really made it feel like we were living back in time (minus the modern additions). We were thankful the night was cool so we could use the fire place.
4.7
Cozy, well equipped, larger than it looks in pictures. We stay for a week with our family of 23 staying next door. Nice to go on hikes in nature preserve that is accessed from the property. Emily, the property manager was great to work with. Exceeded our expectations. Enjoyed having a fireplace for cool mornings.

The property was conveniently located just a short drive to Sister Bay, and within walking distance to downtown Ephraim. The property was cozy and had everything you could need during your stay. We utilized the bikes to get us downtown Ephraim (3min) and enjoyed spending our mornings on the back deck. We will be back!

Spiders. No kitchen table. Bathroom was good. Kayaks were paddle boats and way to heavy to transport to the water. You would have to cross a very busy road.
4.7
The cabin was very clean which we appreciated. Enough for 2 people. The refrigerator however needed to be defrosted so the freezer part was not able to be used and that was not appreciated. We would have liked a few more small pots in the kitchen. But it was quiet and that was nice.

Anniversary
Parking was a little awkward, and the front step was a little high to step up on. Otherwise we loved ❤ the cabin it was perfect for us.
Thank you so much for such a lovely spot

My wife and I spent 3 nights in Cara's Cabin and had a wonderful time. The Creamsicle exterior is surprisingly appealing, it really works on logs. Inside, the walls, floor and ceiling are all natural and bring a feeling of warmth and coziness, and the Stone fireplace adds to the ambiance. Being a gas fp It also comes in handy on chilly mornings.
The cabin was in great condition and the interior was very clean. So when we go to the Door we go for the food as well as enjoying the outdoors activities, so we eat most meals out. A 10 minute walk will get you down to the Old Post Office for a great fish boil dinner or Wilson's for the biggest 2 scoops of wonderful ice cream you'll ever have running down your hands. For people who want to cook on vacation there is enough supplies and utensils for anyone wishing to do so. Plus a 4 burner stove, grill and microwave, and 2 coffee makers, drip & Keurig. You don't see that very often!
There were plenty of hooks to hang items from, and tables, cabinets and shelves to stow things in. There is a lot of space in Cara's Cabin so my wife was able to use her hula hoop. For a rustic cabin there was plenty of natural light, plus wall, ceiling and table lamps for the evening.
The bathroom was clean and well equipped with plenty of fresh smelling towels
The location is very convenient for touring the Peninsula. We hiked Peninsula, Northport and Whitefish Dunes (best of the 3) State Parks and all were within a 30 minute drive, and all were wonderful. We also hiked at On Deck, probably the best apparel store in the Door, with 2 locations. Sister Bay and Fish Creek. If you prefer biking or kayaking, that equipment is available at the cabin for free, no worries!
We highly recommend Cara's Cabin if you are looking for a warm cozy place to spend some time close to everything Door County has to offer. You won't be disappointed!

The cabin was very comfortable and affordable for what we were looking for. The location was great because anything we wanted to go see during our stay was close. The only negative thing about the cabin was the wifi was insufficient-- but that wasn't very important to us for this trip! Overall, we enjoyed coming back to Cara's Cabin each night to settle down!
