If you have difficulty getting into and out of a deep claw foot tub, this might prove to be a problem at this listing; otherwise it was perfect đź‘Ť

Note: driveway parking not guaranteed, and not likely available. There is another rental upstairs. When it is occupied, you will be told to park on the street. Upon this happening to me, I complained and was offered reimbursal for the street parking nightly permits. For me this was no deal as I had searched specifically for places with off-street parking. Luckily I was able to exchange info with the other guest and we shared the driveway in tandem.
Otherwise, the bathroom accommodations could some work. 2 bottles of cheap Suave and some leftover nearly empty baby shampoo bottle on a table by the tub was sad. It’s like a middle finger, actually. Suave? I’m not at my cousins. I paid to stay here. Anyway. Minor details missing at this place.
But overall it worked.

This place deserves a 15 on a scale from 1 to 10 for location! A 1923 bungalow rare gem that is centrally located near the sights of Pasadena and beyond. Quiet tree line street in a historic area. Spacious, open floor plan with windows galore. Absolutely what we expected based on the photos. The host has literally thought of everything a guest might need. Comfortable, clean, and very well appointed. If you are considering this spot- book it!

We used this house as a base for a 4 day grandchild and family visit where we used the full kitchen to cook for our daughter and her husband. They were able to bring our grandson over for a visit when our son joined us. We brought some specialty stuff we did not expect to be there and used the appliances and cookware and it worked out perfectly. Having the tv was good for unwinding with a movie and all the furnishings are tasteful and perfect for the nice open space. The bed is very comfortable!!

Me and my girlfriend loved this place! So charming and cute. The hostess was very responsive when I told her the network didn't work for the tv, and although I was initially scared at the sound of neighbors upstairs, she was quick to let me know that there were other guests up there. Overall, beautiful house and excellent customer service.

Nice house and great location for what we were looking for. Much nicer than a hotel as you get a backyard to relax in and living room if wanted. Would stay again as perfect size for a couple.

Beautiful and safe neighborhood. Property was immaculate. Gorgeous decor. We stayed for a festival at the Rose Bowl and ended up walking everywhere from this home base. Some fairly long but pleasant walks. Area is very pretty and quiet. Kitchen well equipped. Only thing not there was hot tub/spa/whirlpool in the listing although it wasn’t a huge deal. There is a lovely claw foot tub in the bathroom, that is more set up for showers than baths. It was lovely and I’d stay again!

The bungalow is delightful--clean, well-furnished, airy, and full of light. The only drawback is the driveway which we chose not to use. The entry is narrow and the first part of the driveway is lined with low concrete walls. A small car might fit, a larger one not so much. The shower works great but it requires standing in the bathtub with plastic curtains keeping the water in the tub. The location is great, and the neighborhood is full of charming (and a few truly eccentric) homes. The host was responsive without being intrusive. Highly recommend.

Great place to stay! Property is tucked in a quiet neighborhood with grocery store, coffee shop and restaurants near by. The host was quick to respond to questions. Bungalow was very clean, aesthetically beautiful and equipped with everything we needed.

What a little gem this house was. Travelled to Pasadena from NV to support our teen in an honor choir at the convention center. The house was close to the venue, but more importantly it was perfectly pristine, homey, cozy, and serene. Could not have asked for a better place to stay. Our host was kind, quick to reply, and very accommodating. 5 stars across the board!

We have family here and it was nice to be close to them but also Old Town. A lot of great restaurants and cafes near by. House was clean and had everything we needed. As noted in other reviews, you are not allowed to park in the driveway and have to pay for overnight parking online for $3/night. There is a tenant upstairs and so you can hear then occasionally coming and going. Bathroom is also in the bedroom, so that’s something to note as well. Otherwise really great price for what you get!

Reservation went exactly as described and planned. For a couple's getaway in Pasadena, it served our purposes perfectly. I love good communication from a host, and that's exactly what we got.

We had a great stay over Christmas. There was a problem with the door lock, but it was resolved. Very clean and roomy, would recommend.

We loved our stay for the Rose Parade. This is a wonderful home for a couple or a small family. The kitchen and little details through the home are wonderful. Only a few miles from Old Town. In Pasadena you do have to pay for street parking and there is a tenant upstairs…all of this is stated before you check in. This home made our Pasadena trip comfortable and calm.

This was our second stay. The kitchen is actually well stocked -- much better than other properties -- and there are fhigh-end laundry facilities.

House is perfect it was clean and very comfortable.
The only thing I would suggest is a chest of draws so that guest can unpack and have a place to put their cloth and undergarments. The shower/tub combo is an old claw foot tube which is charming and fitting for the property. We could never figure out how to use the hand held portion so we gave it up . I would stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a quite comfortable. stay.

Very comfortable stay. Only issues very slow internet and no regular programs on TV. Was staying for game at the Rose Bowl and would like to have watched college football on Saturday. Nice location.

The location was great!
The kitchen is spacious, and the living room was perfect for our family and very comfortable. The bed did feel like a full versus a queen. My husband ended up sleeping on the couch (it is not a sofa bed) because my toddler and I only fit on the bed. The manager should note that there was someone upstairs beforehand, so we were taken by surprise. The bathroom only had one entrance through the bedroom, which at night was annoying, mostly because we wanted to make sure we didn't wake up our toddler.
I did have to reach out to the owner for the entry code, but it took a bit -- we got lucky because the cleaner was still at the home and let us in. Check-in is at 3 p.m., and we were there at 3:30.
All of these minor things were listed when she sent the note, but it would have been nice to know before the cancelation deadline. To us it wasn't a big deal for others it might.

The place was lovely and clean, and communication with the property owner was easy. Great location near Rose Bowl for an event we attended there. We were able to park one car on the driveway which was super helpful as well. Overall great stay!

Wonderful little bungalow in the heart of Pasadena. Comfy and cozy. My only complaint was the brightness of the street. It was very dark with not a lot of street lights. But other than that the unit was nice l, clean and has central air.

The home has a bright light and airy style. It is clean and the bed was very comfortable. We experienced a series of unfortunate malfunctions that left us overall disappointed in our stay. The first night the air-conditioning was not working. The owner called a repair person for the next day, directed us to specific windows that opened with screens to get air flow and attempted to have a fan delivered. It was fixed by the time we got back to the house from our second day adventures. However, that night we discovered the microwave and brand new oven was not working. We changed our meal plans and limped through the rest of our stay. We highly suggest that owner put as much effort in verifying her home apliances are in working order, as she has done in remodeling and decorating the home. Among other items we discovered the hand held bath sprayer also lacked water pressure, and there is a resident skunk in the neighborhood.

We felt very safe & comfy at this sweet lil home. We loved that it was in close proximity to all we wanted to do ( Universal, Walk of Fame, Melrose) but in a quiet neighborhood.
I think disclosing that there is someone upstairs should be important only for the simple fact that he parks right outside of your bedroom window and he’s coming and I’m going to make the motion light go on all through the night.
I also was disappointed that the 2nd bathroom door was locked so when my son had to use the restroom he had to come through our bedroom in the night.
Definitely not a deal breaker but I think this could be important for some people.
We would definitely stay here again, the coziness and the safety was amazing.

This one bedroom home was super spacious, well decorated, clean and adorable-felt much bigger than a typical one bedroom. Updated appliances and very comfortable to be in. The neighborhood was nice and safe feeling. My only two drawbacks were parking-you have to go to a local fire station to get a parking permit to stay overnight (Super cheap-$3 per night, but would've liked to know that at time of booking). Also, there is an upstairs tenant who is very quiet, however, the way the construction/doors are located you can hear everything including their TV. If you're sensitive to noise, that would be a bummer.
Otherwise everything was lovely, I would stay here again!

My family booked this place for the week and we were very pleased with the location, amenities, and communication with the host. They were very supportive of our time here. And the proximity to Pasadena, Glendale, and the rest of LA is pretty good. The only thing to be aware of is street parking, as you need a permit. But overall, great place. Thank you.

The home itself was nice and clean. Neighbors were pretty quiet. The kitchen had a good mix of dishes and appliances.
For downsides, driveway was narrow width and steep. I had issues on first night, so got a street pass to park on curb for the rest of stay. We arrived after dark, and house number was hard to read from road. Tough to open windows and keep open for a breeze. The shower was narrow and surrounded with plastic curtains, which my arms kept rubbing onto.
Reasonable stay. Not super thrilled, but also not very upset. It accomplished the need.

This home was perfect for my husband and I to go to LA or hike in San Gabriel. House was clean, equipped with most everything you need ( even washer and dryer, which wasn't in the description.) A chest of drawers in the bedroom would be great, because what couldn't be hung in the closet had to stay in the suitcase. The owner was quick with responses and a delight to deal with.

The house was nicely decorated, and comfortable. Parking was more of a hassle than expected. The driveway was far too narrow (with concrete walls on either side) for an SUV, and street parking required a permit (which was available from a kiosk at the firehouse, but the directions on which pass to get were a bit unclear). The second bed actually was a couch (with no pillow, but with a top sheet and blanket in the bedroom closet), which worked well enough for our teenage son, but might not be sufficient for an adult. I got the impression that this was a relatively new home on Vrbo, and that the few items above will be addressed in due time. Overall, the home was lovely.
4.0 / 5.0
This is a really cute little house. A lot of care has gone into making it bright and modern without losing its vintage charm. Kitchen is darling with lovely upscale appliances. Other pros are proximity to downtown and having a cute, clean, comfortable place to return to after exploring Pasadena. Some cons to consider: the driveway is tight with tall retaining walls on each side making it hard to use (open doors) even in a smaller car. Overnight parking on the street requires a permit which is explained in the listing but I missed it-that’s on me entirely. Just know you’ll need the passes which are inexpensive and not a huge deal. The yards are not as nice as the house and I wish there had been a cover over the back patio for the inclement weather. There is an upstairs tenant and not enough insulation between floors. He was quiet and polite but we could hear him even just talking on the phone which was not ideal. We tried to keep the volume on the tv low so as not to disturb him. Small items to consider adding for comforts: aluminum foil and cling wrap for leftovers, wine glasses, and maybe something to filter the water. These are items that aren’t necessities of course but we’ve had them in most of the VRBOs we’ve stayed in so I thought I’d mention it.
