Is the property located directly on the water?
Yes, the house is directly on the water, no other property separates you from Lake Erie. There is a hill that was built 30 years ago to prevent the peninsula from flooding, so you must walk up a hill located 40 foot out the back door to see the water.
Can you swim, is there a beach?
While I don't recommend swimming, you can. It is very rocky beach out back. Some people have brought kayaks to launch and have had no issues.
Is there room to park my boat? Can I fish?
You can fish out back, pick your lucky spot on the rocks and cast a line! There is room for boat parking, I will just need a heads up. The local launch is about 2 miles away, and you are split pretty even between Catawba and Detroit for fishing!

My friend and I had a lovely time at your house. We really appreciated how reachable the owner was, and loved the cute house. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the shower was delightful.

The owner, Justin, did an amazing job updating this house. It is quaint and located close to the shoreline of Lake Erie. My wife and i enjoyed our time. All of the rooms have been upgraded and electronics connected via Alexa. (That took a little getting used to.)
A few items to note:
1. The lock for entry is on the side of the house & the owner recommends using the back door for carrying things in/out. This is good advice as the side entry has higher steps which my be ackward as well as a 90 degree turn into the kitchen.
2. The beds in both rooms have new matresses. These were a bit too firm for my wife's and my liking. If you prefer softer for sleeping, the couch worked better.
3. The two best places on the couch are the reclining seat nearest the kitchen and the "corner". I sunk in other spaces and could not get the second reclining seat to "recline".
4. Alexa randomly spoke and/or played something without being called upon.
5. There is a gazebo directly behind the house. There were some people partying (end of labor day weekend) and we were initially told by the owner to stay away as the gazebo is private property. Later, he indicated we could go by it but noting it was a work in process. (Recommend this be clearly described in the posting.)
6. Two items outside of the owners control were (a) brown/copperish water for a period of time and (b) intermittent internet connectivity. These didnt last or impact the stay - just some inconvenience.

The house was tidy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was responsive and easy to reach. It's a beautiful home we hope to visit again.

Nice little house in quiet neighborhood on the lake. Unfortunately couldn't launch kayaks from the property but found other places to go. We had a great time celebrating our anniversary!

Even with neighbors, this home felt secluded and comfy. We didn’t use the backyard much, but the view from the living room was nice and the retaining walls kept it private. Kitchen was well equipped for normal use. Absolutely LOVED the shower! 10/10!

Great place to stay , there was no beach or fire pit but that is ok the only real problem was with the WIFI . it was a very very week signal , there are tv's in every room but we could hardly watch the one in the living room. ( TV is on streaming service )

Nice clean quiet place to unwind or use as a place to explore the lake and Toledo. Kitchen was great for preparing breakfasts. Although the host did not plan this, we enjoyed watching the rabbits enjoy themselves in the yard.
Thank you for your hospitality

Everything about this house was great! The location is on a quiet street. We were able to get to the zoo and the beach easily. The house was clean and comfortable. My kids loved that there is a TV in the bathroom. The host was friendly and communicative. I was also able to adjust my stay by a day pretty last minute which I really appreciated.

Warm and very welcoming. Justin was a great host. We enjoyed our stay at his house. What we loved the most is the view from the living room - great way to wake up and see the beautiful sunrise. Very quiet neighborhood and nice place to retreat after a long day.
The place is clean and stocked with all things necessary. Will stay there again.

Beautiful amazing property. Hosts were wonderful. Would definitely stay again when I come back into town to visit family.

The house was nice. Had everything we needed. The trees were full of birds singing, there are a couple eagles who stayed in the trees just outside and the squirrels were friendly too. The water was brown and unswimable, but overall, absolutely beautiful. Happy we booked here! Check in and out was easy and owner was responsive to messages.

Very easy check in process and the owner was very quick when I had questions. The only thing I will note is that the bed made noises at any little movement, and it kept waking me up. Also, the back deck really needs to be redone. Overall I was very happy with my stay.

Take your lawn chairs to the top of the backyard stairs and enjoy a wonderful, private view of Lake Erie. The house is on the northeast point of Toledo, and it’s an easy 20-30 minute drive to most all the attractions and points of of interest. Quiet neighborhood and house is just as described.

We wanted a place to just relax and recharge and this was just that place. Very quiet neighborhood and the house was immaculate and beautiful. We even survived the tornado and golf ball size hail the last night there! Justin was a perfect host and even checked on us after the storm! Thanks Justin!

We liked staying at the beach house! We adventured down to the beach for a fire, the bed was super comfortable and everything was updated on the interior. The bugs are bad around all parts of Lake Erie so they didnt bother us at all!

Absolutely beautiful little cabin right on Lake Erie!! We really enjoyed sitting on the berm and watching the sunrises and the eagles catching their morning breakfast or sitting out in the afternoon and enjoying the breeze off the lake. ❤️
We loved how close this spot was to Meijer for groceries and to I-75 for getting around the city quickly, but also was a very quiet neighborhood!! We enjoyed going to the zoo, the mall, Put-in-Bay, the casino, Webbers (just around the corner) and neighboring towns to visit some wineries! The owners were absolutely awesome and ensured we had all we needed and to not hesitate to reach out if we had any issues. Even helping to ship my Yeti's after I forgot them. 🙈
We had a wonderful week and would definitely visit again in the future! Thank you Justin and Renee ❤️

The interior was beautiful. I would have bet I was the first to rent since remodeling until I saw the note from the cleaner after the previous rental. Everything looked and worked like brand-new. Truly excellent space.

Easy to find and comfortable home! About a 20 min drive to the Toledo Zoo. Presented well on the interior and outside needed some spring cleanup. Side doorstep is very high to step up to so front door was used. Enjoyed playing cards there and felt safe! Alexa started playing 'funeral music" not long after we went to bed the last night ....might wanna check that!
3.0 / 5.0
First off, if you’re only staying for a short period of time, like a weekend to four days, this is definitely worth it pricewise. That being said, I personally felt like some of the surfaces could have been cleaner. There are minor things that could have been improved, such as curtains that don’t cover the entire window, having no dishware that can be microwaved, and the beds felt a little unstable. There is definitely a strange smell in the house. My husband believes it is a cat smell, so whoever owned it prior may have had cats and the odor is just persisting. The neighborhood was nice enough and it’s right on the lake, which was nice. There definitely is not a ton of good food in the area. Typically needed to drive about 15 minutes to get really good food and coffee. But it was close to everything we came there to do and decent enough for our purposes!

Our stay was pleasent. It rained a ton, so we spent a lot of time in the house. It was very cozy and was as listed. Communication with the owner was fast and he was very friendly.

The interior of this cottage was clean and efficiently organized, with new stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, Alexa, and basic cooking tools, coffee, foil, plastic wrap, and attractive dinnerware. Every room, including the bathroom, has a wall-mounted TV. Living room TV works without a hitch. The place was not as spacious as the photos suggest, but it worked fine for the four of us. The real problem was the outside. Front and back yard were not cared for, with rough looking grass, debris from the previous fall and winter against the berm, and a little broken concrete in one border area. Surrounding homes are not well cared for - miscellaneous worn-out belongings and trash outside and open to view. The property owner told us that the outside of the cottage is "a work in progress." He seems like a pleasant person and very cooperative. Hopefully as weather improves, he will smarten up the property. But the neighborhood is what it is, unfortunately.

Had a wonderful stay my kids absolutely loved it very nice and clean as well the lake is right behind you and the sunrise is beautiful
3.0 / 5.0
The home has clearly had a lot of work done to it and it looks great! But it is so uncomfortable. The plug in air fresheners were way too much. The kitchen table and chairs, while they look cool, were too tall. The couch was ok, but the living room tv was too high, I had to strain my neck to see it. I think you could argue that I was there to see Toledo and not hang out at the house and that's fair. But with that argument, we would still want a comfy bed. One bed was a cheep, stiff boxspring. The other was all foam, it was hard to lay in and get out of and very hot. We left early because of the bed. It would have been cool to have a comfy place to hang out, but this was not it.

The house is fully renovated and beautiful. Very homey and comfortable while also technologically advanced. A short walk up the back steps delivers you to a spectacular view of Lake Erie. We enjoyed the sunrise over the Lake!
Additionally, the property owner was great with communication. The house was very clean and fully stocked.

This interior of this cottage has been newly remodeled, and it is VERY nice!! The gas fireplace is a nice touch: beautiful to look at and provides warmth. The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. The only complaints I have are that the heating system sometimes made a loud knocking noise that could be heard in one of the bedrooms, and the hot water is on a variable heating system and didn’t seem to ever be consistently hot. (I never showered, though, so maybe if it runs long enough, it stabilizes.) The beds were memory foam and were extremely comfortable, which was fantastic!! Overall, We loved this place and would stay again!

Great rental. I will most likely stay here again for my next trip to Toledo. The property manager is always available and responds promptly. The interior is newly renovated. The online details regarding the exterior say landscaping is in progress and needs work but to be honest it seemed just fine to me.

My stay was great! I needed a quiet location for my writing and this lake house was perfect. I appreciated having dishes, flatware, and kitchen supplies too. Justin was very responsive.
