We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Harwinton at John’s home. It was perfect for us and offered very nice amenities. The property is very well maintained. A bonus was not having to purchase firewood for our nightly camp fires. We would highly recommend this place for any small group and would happily rent from John again.

The house was lovely. The kitchen and bathroom are in wonderful condition, and both are stocked with all kinds of things you might need. We enjoyed the grill, fire pit, and playing games in the yard. The lake is across the street, but you need to walk a couple houses down the street and around the corner to get to the nearest beach/access. John is great, and we used his canoe and 2 kayaks for a peaceful trip around the lake a number of times. We put the roll-out cot in the smaller room with the double bed, and it was a little tight, but our teenage daughter was quite happy sleeping (and lounging) on it and being able to share the room with our family friend. There is also a bottled water dispenser which was a wonderful addition.

Absolutely perfect cottage by the lake. Immaculate, simple and comfortable. Owner has thought of everything you might forget and provides many staples. Our second stay and we loved it again!

Awesome place! The host was super helpful and accessible. We had such a nice visit, fishing and using the lake. House was clean and quaint! Couldn’t have asked for a better time and place! Definitely would stay again and recommend to anyone!

Very nice and well equipped cottage. We enjoyed our stay and was pleasantly surprised how accommodating and quite the cottage was. We would stay there again.

A great lake house ...steps to the beach...the owner John thought of everything! Loved it!

My friend and I took our kids (ages 7 and 10) up for a little lake get away. We had such a great time! It was great for kids, but would also be perfect for a couples trip. The lake is so clean and the owner let us borrow his very nice kayak and canoe. So fun! The house is very well stocked, and all the details of the place were very well thought out. The beds are so comfy! The picnic table outside was great for a pizza dinner (there’s a great pizza place very near by). Our first night we enjoyed s’mores by the fire pit. We will definitely be back!

The rental unit is a secret gem. Very clean and one of the best well stocked rentals I've ever seen. The rental was fantastic. It worked perfectly for what I need it while traveling with my mother. I will definitely be coming back.
