We were so pleased with our stay, that we will be booking again for next year. I felt that Todd and Jodi have undersold the cabin on VRBO. It went above and beyond to meet the expectations of our family. We had more than enough space (including an additional fridge in the basement-which we loved), located on a private bay wich was perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding, but yet easy access to the big lake for pontooning. We needed a crock pot and Jodi ran one over. I highly recommend.

Perfect spot, beautiful place! It was just as pictured. Unfortunately, our only issue was some chilly weather! But the grandkids still had a blast . We saw a bear, deer, loons, beavers, and a huge turtle! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a quiet, beautiful bay with easy access to Nelson Lake!

We had a very comfortable stay at Serene Lake House. We appreciated Todd's attentiveness to our concerns and questions. (Following Todd's advice, we had no issues with the pup next door but we were vigilant about keeping our dog leashed when outside and our dog stayed within the rental yard.) The Master suite is wonderful! and there was plenty of room for us all (four adults and two young children) to crash and relax after a day on the lake. Not too far from Hayward which was an added perk. Todd was very accommodating and quick to respond to our questions.

The house and lake access suited our family of 8 very well. The house was clean and well stocked for our stay. We loved being able to have our small dog at the house but note that you must cross the neighbor’s property to get to the public road and the neighbor has a dog that limited our ability walk out to the road with our dog. Thankfully the neighbor has an electric fence so their dog did not come over to our rental property. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful vacation spot for our adult children and grandchildren. Cabin had more than enough room for 8 adults and 4 children. Cabin had everything we needed and exceeded expectations. Located at the end of a dead end road and was quiet and peaceful. The bay provided hours of calm & protected kayaking for the kids. Dock easily accommodated our pontoon and fishing boat. Lots of fun tubing and fishing. Nearby bike parks and mountain biking enjoyed by kids and adults. Highly recommended.

The property was great, especially loved the deck. We did a lot of kayaking and fishing. All the kids had a great time and so did the adults. My only complaint is we could have used more toilet paper and the propane tank on the grill was empty.

We enjoyed our time at this cabin, especially the deck and the lake. However, there are several improvements that would’ve made our stay much more comfortable, especially when considering the price point of the property:
1) The address listed on VRBO is incorrect.
2) The kitchen was not well equipped with necessities; more utensils and serving bowls would be helpful and only 1 kitchen towel and dishcloth. With no dishwasher, more are needed.
3) It was very disappointing to have to supply our own paper towels and toilet paper.
4) No curtains for privacy in the downstairs bath or the master bath. We hung towels by thumbtacks to cover the windows.
5) The master bedroom with the bathroom; It would be better if a there was a curtain, wall, or any sort of separation of the toilet and shower from the bedroom space.
6) There were no dressers or closet in the master bedroom, and one of the upstairs bedrooms; this meant living out of suitcases and having to pile clothes on top of the nightstands and floor.
7) The owner sent a message saying a gift basket would be arriving on our third day. It never came.
8) There was some odd wiring, which required the basement lights to remain turned on all night, for the upstairs A/C and bedroom lights to work.
9) No A/C in master bedroom, this wasn’t mentioned in the property listing.
Again, considering the price point of this property, the amenities should have been closer to what one would expect for that price.

The home worked out great for our 4 families to get together. The house was very clean. Bedrooms upstairs were comfortable with individual air conditioning units. Large deck and gas grill. Gentle slope to the water and sandy area in the water was great for the dogs and kids to play in. We really liked the "No Wake" area we were in. We also appreciated allowing dogs and being able to book less than a 7 day stay. You won't be disappointed staying here.

This house and location was wonderful to stay at. Excellent location near Hayward. Easy to go out the back door and play on the lake. House was cozy and warm. Easy for 3 to 4 couples to stay at. Kitchen was well stocked with kitchen utensils, including lots of plates and cups.
Wonderful hosts who where always available to answer our questions.
We are looking forward to our next stay with Todd and Jodi. Thank you Todd and Jodi for all the work you put into this house. Is shows and we love it!

It was a great place for our group. We were there for my son's wedding at our new inlaws' summer home, which is located on Neilson Lake zo it was convenient. Beautiful view from a gorgeous deck.

Great location near Hayward. Helpful host. Hard to find house initially since address is listed wrong on VRBO. Arrival directions would be useful to know to go all the way to end of the road. We would stay here again.

We had a wonderful time. The property is perfect for a lake vacation. Plenty of space for a family or group. The 4 bedrooms gave us each a place to call our own. We spent a lot of time on the beautiful Lake Nelson. But it was so nice to come back to a cabin with air conditioning on to clean up relax and get ready for the next activity. We will choose this home again.

Hayward vacation
We were there 4 nights and had a wonderful time. House was clean and very accommodating for us. Each family was able to sleep together in same room. Loved being on the lake with a boat landing and a dock. Able to fish and had a great pontoon ride on the lake. Only down fall was there was no grill. Also other rentals had a notebook to have rules in and we could leave comments. Over all, it was a great, quite place. Was able to pontoon to near Bars and Grills for a bite. Would definitely come back.9 out 10 stars.

Back to the lake
Spending time in the north woods on Nelson Lake over Memorial weekend was a great way to start summer in Wisconsin. The property was perfect for a long weekend getaway with the Labradors. The location was ideal, only one close neighbor and a large deck that overlooks the lake to enjoy the sunsets.
We hope to be back!
