About this apartment rental
Brand new one bedroom apartment in the loft of a working horse barn, with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The farm is situated in a very quiet and private location yet only minutes from the Virginia Horse Center and from downtown Lexington, home to the Virginia Military Institute and Washington & Lee University. The farm is also located only one quarter mile from the "New Field Farm at Timber Ridge" wedding venue. Enjoy walking the farm fields and woodland trails. Horse boarding facilities are available. You are welcome to bring bicycles.

As a family with a daughter who rides horses, we found this a perfect stay for a horse show weekend at the Virginia Horse Center. The drive to the horse center is a litle further than the standard hotels we typically utilize, but the comfort and ammenities are immensely better. Doris was a pleasure to communicate with and perfectly responsive. The kitchen was stocked as described, and the bed was firm but comfortable. Everything was clean and updated. She had the couch made up for our daughter upon arrival. The property is stunning, and it made our standard horse show weekend more of a mini vacation. Will definitely stay here again!

This place is incredible. Dennis and Doris are such sweet hosts and made us feel so comfortable. The loft is exceptionally clean and decorated. Very comfortable and they have thought of everything you could possibly need. They have anything you need to cook and the milk and eggs were a special touch! You do not hear any noise from the barn below. Morning coffee outside was so relaxing. There are more things to do in the Lexington area than we expected. Hike to Natural Bridge, a nice downtown with good food and the Drive thru Safari Park was a big hit. We highly recommend this location and will visit it again. Dennis and Doris are such wonderful hosts.

This loft apartment above the lovely horse stables is off the charts! Owners are so welcoming and have gone out of their way to provide an unforgettable stay in the Shenandoah Valley. Our only regret was not staying a week!

We were visiting the area for a horse show at the Virginia Horse Center. This was the perfect retreat after a busy show day. Beautifully furnished, comfortable, great views, and terrific hosts. We would love to stay again the next time we are in the area!

One of the best experiences we've had with vrbo! Dennis and Doris were lovely couple, very kind and accommodating. The loft apt was just right and the view of the mountains incredible. Our son loved walking out in the morning to feed the horses. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Very convenient to Lexington. We had a wonderful time.

My 3 day stay was truly food for the soul. This peaceful and beautiful location was wonderful. Pastoral views with horses grazing and Mountain View’s in the distance. Morning coffee in the sun while listening to wild turkeys come off the roost to begin their spring ritual. Evening glass of wine sitting around the fire pit looking at the moonlit silhouette of the Blue Ridge mountains. Was truly a great stay. The barn loft apartment has everything you need, full kitchen, roomy living area and quality throughout. Owners/host have done a great job creating this escape and anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful, bucolic setting can find it here. 10 minutes from vibrant historic downtown Lexington with 2 universities creating a cool and diverse vibe with shops, cafes, stores, and places to eat, drink and stay make it even better.

This is by and far the most well-appointed rental I have ever stayed in. They have thought of everything to make this apartment ridiculously comfortable. We are already looking at open weekends to come back for another stay.
The owners are lovely, sweet and kind, we enjoyed chatting with them as much as everything else. If you are looking for a quiet oasis in the woods, this is it!! A 5-star rating isn’t high enough for this property and it’s owners.

This place is a gem. The apartment is has everything you would need. It's very comfortably decorated and the host has furnished it very nicely. The surrounding area is beautiful. Horse, cats and dog you can pet if you like. Just an overall great location and experience. So glad we stayed here.

Love, love, love this place! The hosts, Doris and Dennis couldn't be more welcoming and they have created a homey space above their barn. If you're worried about it being too "barn-ish" and smelling like horses, don't be. It doesn't. What you do get is the absolute peace of the country, in a super comfy barn-apartment. It is well stocked and thought through, with everything guests might need. including basic groceries and very nice linens. Everything here is well done, with taste and comfort in mind. I am very much hoping to get back there soon for another visit!

We’ve stayed in Lexington many times but this special place tops them all! It’s hard to know where to start. The view, the horses, the hospitality of Doris and Dennis, the cleanliness, the view again, morning coffee with the horses, the perfect location, all the little extras in the apartment - spices, coffee, fresh eggs and cream. We cancelled our dinner reservations and decided to cook because who wanted to leave this beautiful setting? Don’t even look elsewhere and don’t wait for a reason to have to visit Lexington, make this place your reason.

Doris and Dennis are amazing people - they have built a beautiful apartment. It’s a magical place with amazing views. The accommodations are clean, comfortable and elegantly decorated even with a lovely bouquet of flowers from their gardens. We had a wonderful time grooming the horses and playing with Jake their pup.

Didnt Want to Leave
I have stayed in quite a few VRBO's and Air B&B's and I can honestly say this is the best, bar none. Doris and Dennis are top notch, excited for you to be there and wonderful hosts. The apartment is furnished and outfitted perfectly. Extremely clean and well maintained. The horse farm is gorgeous and you are only minutes from downtown Lexington, Natural Bridge and the Horse Center.

Well- stocked and adorable lodging
The loft above this horse stable was so thoughtful, well stocked and the perfect size for a couple. Doris was so thoughtful in all the things she puts in the loft. The A/C works beautifully, you don't hear or smell anything from the stable and the views are gorgeous.
