Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Fishing, kayaking, swimming, and relaxing by fire.
Local UTV rental was fun as well as our evening visits to Moose alley Cones before driving Moose Alley to find a moose-we did see a young bull!
House was clean, lake was fabulous. Well stocked home with all amenities. Prompt answers with the few questions I had. Thank you!!

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. The listing was accurate. The house had everything we needed. The communication between. The owners was wonderful when we experienced a problem. The septic tank backed up we called the owners and they addressed the problem promptly. we would definitely book this property again everything about it was wonderful.

It was a rainy weekend but the house was warm, dry and cozy. The little sunshine we did get, we enjoyed in the beautiful lake and around the fire pit in the backyard. When it rained, there was a huge selection of games to play in the house.
The house, private beach and quiet lake were a perfect combination for our fun weekend getaway. The property manager was always quick to respond to all my questions and even helped us with what we needed while we were there.

There are 6 adults and 2 kids in our family. The kids loved the "cabin" which is large, really a house. We had plenty of room. The bedroom with all the beds is the loft so it's open to the living room below so our late night shenanigans kept the kids up but they slept well after the first night. There were two private bedrooms also. The fishing wasn't great for us but we sure enjoyed trying. The proximity to the lake couldn't be better. The kids swam even though it rained almost every day. The rain didn't pose a problem because there was plenty of room inside to hang out and catch up on some reading, snacking and drinking the vacation spirits. We will def. go back again. The whole family voted yes before we even left. Bring or buy your own firewood. A couple things to improve: towels need updating, more kitchen towels, hand towels. You can't use the laundry, plan accordingly, the freezer handle was broken and had a unique hinged door that took getting used to and the stove top had to be lit with a lighter. We have a gas stove at home so no problem for us but it could be uncomfortable to some. Could use a little more cupboard space for guests but the under stair shelves worked out. The deck is badly in need of repairs and paint but the aesthetic didn't hinder us. The deep step on deck could be fixed and the slider. All of us had the best time. Be sure to go to Green Acres for English muffin bread and cinnamon buns. The buns are huge and the best we've ever had. We'll be back!

We absolutely loved the location on the beautiful lake with breathtaking views. The house had everything and more for supplies. While I did see pictures online of the trophy animals on the walls, it still didn’t prepare us for all of the animal “decor”. It was everywhere, in every nook and cranny with pictures on the walls of their “kills” and graphic pictures in an album on the table near the Wi-Fi. All of my family are animal lovers and this was quite off-putting. Speaking of the Wi-Fi, don’t depend on that. We were able to get on only the first day, and three of us had to rely on other’s hotspots to check in with our pet and house sitters. Near the end of our trip, we did get a possible solution to get it to work, and it did for awhile, but then was hit or miss. The stove was cracked on one side and one of the burners didn’t work. The septic system can’t handle 10 people, even if only 3 or 4 showers were taken in a day. It would cause the septic to back up into the yard. There was plenty of room in the beds and bedrooms, although someone mentioned the large king bed on the first floor wasn’t comfortable. There was a deck outside, badly in need of stain or paint. There is no shade, so we were happy someone brought an easy-up canopy that fit perfectly on the deck. That being said, we all did have a wonderful time and the lake and view made up for the other things, as our family brought kayaks and floaties and loved sitting on the deck to read, as well as having campfires.

Great cozy cabin right on the lake! Perfect for anyone that loves fishing, lake swimming, or any kind of boating (canoeing, paddle-boards included). Super easy access to the water.
Great hiking locally and close by food options if you want to go out for a meal instead of cooking at home.
Very quiet area you can find a lot of peace and quiet here!
Weather wasn’t too cooperative for us but enjoyed the fire pit by the lake one night and it was amazing. Be sure to bring your own firewood and fire starter as that is not supplied (but can be found easily super close by too).
We were super lucky and able to see two otters and several loons right from the beach. Husband caught landlocked salmon while fishing and when we were out and about we saw several deer and fox. No moose but we didn’t try to hard either.
House had pretty much everything we needed (except food obviously) but no dishwasher. If you have a larger group, house will definitely sleep 10 comfortably, bring paper goods so you don’t have to spend so much time cleaning up!

We enjoyed this property very much. Lake was nice and quiet, not a lot of activity. Cell service was better than expected up there which the kids were happy about. Great selection of books and games to keep busy. ATV rentals nearby made for a great adventure. All in all it was a great time

Amazing!
This cabin was perfect for our family! The location is amazing! We really enjoyed our stay. Coffee on the deck in the morning with the moon glistening on the water at night by the fire. Great spot for kayaking too. Daniele was a fantastic host checking in to see if we had settled in ok and if there was anything we needed. We can't wait to book again next summer!

More than I wanted to see
While I wanted a “rustic” cabin experience, I was expecting a rental as well. This is a “very lived-in” property without personal items of the owners removed before we arrived. The freezer was full of personal food leaving me no space for my groceries. When you opened the chest of drawers in the bedrooms, there were clothes still in there as well as items like toothbrushes, hairbrushes etc. still in the bathroom. While the location by the lake is beautiful, I was not impressed with the preparation of the rental prior to our visit.

We had a blast!
We loved the location and the house. It was clean and well stocked with necessities. The lake was beautiful.
I tried reaching out to the owners with a couple of questions and never heard back from him. Even when I told him the power was out. It didn’t ruin our fun…just thought it was irresponsible of him. Also, the grill grates were rotted through and the toaster fell apart when I tried to use it.

The photos don't do this home justice
This was an amazing vacation rental. The location cannot be beat. Looking out across the lake to forest and mountains as far as you could see. This home had it all. It had the rustic feel of a sportsman's cabin combined with the comfort of a country home. Lots of room for a large gathering. Two bedrooms with king sized beds and easily room enough for 10 people (even though it said 8). I haven't been to Pittsburgh in a few years, this has access to what I view as the best ATV trail system in the state. The owner Thomas was friendly and accommodating. Easy to contact. We primarily went to fish, but as it rained for most of the trip, we spent a lot of time in the home. But with the wood stove keeping us warm, we sat and played board games or just talked. There is no tv or internet or phone service at the home (which was refreshing) So if you are going on vacation to sit and watch tv or play on the computer this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for outdoor activities, this is the place. Thank you Thomas for opening this wonderful place for our use

Great Place for our Winter Ice Fishing Trip on the Lake
We were truly excited to find a place so beautiful on First Connecticut. It was exactly the getaway spot that our group was looking for, a rustic camp feel with amenities. We were able to ice fish right out front . The fully stocked kitchen was nice to have and allowed us to stay in and cook. Two king bedrooms and multiple twin beds in the loft worked out great. The weather was cold for our long weekend, but they had plenty of board games and books to enjoy in front of the wood stove. Tom was great to work with and we look forward to renting it again!

The cabin is beautiful and welcoming. It has plenty of room. Also a great view of the lake.
Easy to get to and very accommodating. It has everything you need as far as appliances and other kitchen tools. It has games and a great beach even with the rocks (just bring water shoes). My kids loved the water. And at night it was nice to sit on the porch and watch the sunset. Loved it! Would rent again next year! Thanks Tom

Great lakefront camp
We spent two nights just relaxing at this beautiful camp.Every possible thing you would need could be found in the kitchen. There were two grills on the lakefront, great for grilling and chilling. The inside of the " camp" had many unique and interesting features. We rented boats to cruise the lake, and could beach them right out front.Fire at night and coffee lakeside watching the sunrise, both with the sound of loons on the lake. Will definitely be returning.

Wonderful quiet camp
What an amazing time we had. This is a very quiet location with beautiful views of the mountains. Relax on the deck or on the lawn chairs while listening to the loons. You will not have cell service in this area which is what my boyfriend and I were looking for. This camp is very cozy and filled with games and amenities. The owner is very nice and accommodating. I recommend this place and will be coming back.
