Everything was great except that there was a little more activity around the lake that i expected. There were a few big parties and the music was pretty loud. Other than that, it was great.

Overall the cabin location was great. It looks due West so the sunsets are amazing over Back Lake. My daughter enjoyed the very tame ducks. I knew by the description that the cabin was going to be old and rustic so that wasn’t a surprise. I was a little disappointed in the amount of spiderwebs and bugs inside the cabin. I was also disappointed in the fact that we lost about $120 worth of groceries when the refrigerator decided to stop working. I got in touch with the host and he said a repair person couldn’t make it out till the following week which I understood but he never offered to refund us for our grocery loss. There also wasn’t a welcome sheet of any kind with any check in or check out procedures If the refrigerator gets fixed and someone spends some time going through the place cleaning out the webs it would be a great little cabin to stay at. I’m not trying to write a bad review, just an honest review. Thank you.

If you're looking for a rustic cabin with minimal amenities, this is the place for you.

We arrived on Monday, unpacked and sat outside listening to the Loon's and watching the sunset. My buddy and I stayed last year, and it was just what we wanted. This year, we had a total of 4 guys. We all had a awesome time. The cabin was what they expected. Just as we described it. The sleeping arrangements fit our needs. Everything else was what we wanted. Thank you for letting us stay in the cabin for the week. We will be booking this next year. The location is spot on for us fisherman.

It was great for myself & Husband. Only downfall, no wifi and of corse my cell wasn’t working well in that area either. Husband went snowmobiling/ ice fishing and I enjoyed the view and a puzzle.

This cabin was well located, however, the appliances (stove and fridge) were not working properly.
Not the most comfortable stay either, but if you like rustic and are on a strict budget, then it works.

Overall, this property was everything it was described to be. It is nothing fancy, but it is quaint and cozy and it was clean. It is in need of some minor updating, but that doesn’t take away from the experience of being on the lake or in the Pittsburg area. Owner was very responsive and helpful with every communication. It would be helpful to mention in the listing that Wi-Fi is not available instead of saying contact owner for details about Wi-Fi. Phone signal, depending upon service provider is very good. Enjoyed our stay. Slept well and would stay again.

My wife, a few friends and I enjoyed our stay! Convenient ATV trail access made it the perfect main hub for our daily adventures. Made fires everyday while enjoying the lakeside view. A much needed retreat!

It couldn't have been any better. Rustic is what we wanted, and that's what we got. The cabin had everything we wanted but a spatula,LoL. Perfect location, perfect quarters. The wood stove was a bonus.

had a great memorial day weekend. It is a rustic cabin. Nothing fancy, could use some updating and definitely WI-FI as much as i liked my phone not working it would have been nice for calling back home and checking on things or watching movies at nights. great view and the lake was perfect for kayaking

Nice cabin. Hot water to bathroom took forever with the on-demand tank
system and is loud. Bathroom doorway not accessable with rollator or walker. Path to waterfront and firepit very pitted and uneven for anyone with walking challenges. Mattress hard as a rock. No WIFI Cabin is great as long as you dont have any disability.

Great owner and great place. Rustic but that is exactly what I wanted. I hate to say more because I want to go back and don’t want it booked.

Everything was great except there was no direct TV as advertised. Also one of the stand up fans broke very easily just moving it to a different room and I had to balance it with my bags for it to stay upright so I could still use it. Only other thing that came to my mind during our stay was that we weren't given a phone number in case there was an emergency or maintenance problem, glad that didn't end up being a issue! Still overall a very good experience!

Rustic but that is what we expected. Great location for everything. Fished everyday and caught several, even though they weren't always keepers it was fun. Had great neighbors and wildlife. The geese can stay in the water but the ducks were fun to feed (one we named gunshot he had recently been shot but was healing well) the highlight was the red fox that we fed right at the porch sooo cool! We also ate at Buck Rub Pub and had a great seafood meal. Will defiantly stay here again!

We’ll be back
We will and have recommended “Moose Camp” to our friends and family.
Sometimes you never know what to expect going somewhere new on vacation. This place is even better than as advertised. If nature and quiet is what you want, this is the perfect place.
Thank you Jeff!

Best view
Me, my friends and family stayed 4 days in the lakefront cabin with a particular spectacular sunset. The cabin is simple but has everything we needed, cool and rustic place, some places had cobwebs but everything is well organized. The houses around the lake set off fireworks and the view was splendid and to night we light a fire and roast marshmallows. Next to the cabin we rented a small boat and went fishing and boating on the lake, the lake is not deep so we swam together with the kids. The cabin not have internet or Wi-Fi and we took the opportunity to play on the grass with the ball. In short, we love each other and recommend it to those who want to relax and enjoy a wonderful sunset.

Great location
Location was great. Owner is a poor communicator. Very slow to respond and clearly couldn't be bothered based on responses. Older and very dated property.
Dirty pans left in oven. Amenities in need of updates, knives, coffee maker, cooking utensils.

Moose cabin winter yrip
Nice little place. Bedrooms get a little cool when very cold out but leave the doors open and run the fan.

Winter stay
Great camp located on Back Lake. We could snowmobile right from the camp to everywhere in Pittsburg.. This trip was to go ice fishing (which you cannot do on Back Lake); but a quick 5 minute drive to Lake Francis made it super easy. The camp was clean, warm and cozy for the guys ice fishing weekend away.
My only suggestion would make the house number more visible for when you first arrive.

Great location!
We were there mid January for our first snowmobile ride of the season. It was a great cabin for us located right on the edge of Back Lake for easy trail access. Very cozy home! Had everything we needed and easy communication with the owner, Jeff. We would definitely stay here again.

Tranquility
Beautifully rustic and peaceful, with close proximity to boat rental, general store and local attractions. You can even fish right off of the property and boat dock.
It may be comparatively close to adjacent properties, but I can't overemphasize the tranquility this property offers - you feel as though there's no one around for miles.
My ONLY recommendation is that while there's a TV that does the job perfectly, I'd recommend a larger one mounted on the wall for more space and impatient kids.
We absolutely loved our stay and we'll definitely be returning in the winter.

Wonderful cabin on a lake!
This was kids first time to a cabin on a lake. Something that I did a lot as a kid. This was everything I’d hoped for for their first trip. Lots of wildlife, hikes, swimming, and board/card games. I wish the listing mentioned that you can’t really swim off the dock. But the beach was within walking distance and we were able to dip our feet in off the dock.
All in all a wonderful vacation.

Property is run down and outdated and very close to other cabins. Lake is very rocky and shallow.
It is very dangerous to get in and out of lake in front of property. Shallow and rocky. Screen door off its hinge, needs new set of dishes including mixing bowls. Could use a good kitchen knife that is not serrated. Mattress in the main bedroom is like sleeping on a pool table. OUCH!! House is run down . Thank God we brought a fan and our own bedding. Best thing about this rental is its comparatively cheap but other rentals nearby offer better accommodations for the extra money. I would rent oneof them next time.
