About this house rental
Beach's Reach is nestled away in the seaside town of Peel on the west coast of the Isle of Man. Just a minute on foot from Beach's Reach, as the name may suggest, is Peel beach! This sandy beach is a favourite for locals and visitors alike, enjoying a storied setting with nearby Peel Castle, a medieval castle located on St Patrick's Isle. There are a range of places to eat nearby, where you can sample today's catch, independent cafes and locally produced ice cream!
Beach's Reach itself is a recently refurbished property, with a comfortable living area complemented with a log burner for those cosy evenings! The kitchen is well-equipped and modern, located a on a split level, a short flight of stairs up from the lounge and dining area. The three bedrooms all benefit from a light and airy design, with the two bedrooms on the third floor featuring skylights.
A working fishing port, in Peel you can still see Kippers, fish that has been split from tail to head and smoked being cured in the traditional manner at Moores Kipper Yard. In addition to Peel Castle, the House of Manannan provides a fascinating insight into the history of the Isle of Man, from the Viking past to exploring 19th century Peel with a walk around the sailmakers loft, chandlers shop, quayside, complete with sights and smells from the Manx kipper yard, and uncover the importance of the sea to the lives of the people on the Isle of Man. Don't forget the Leece Museum or Knockaloe Internment Centre, where 23,000 men were housed in an internment camp during The First World War.
Check out Peel Centenary Centre, a local venue for theatre productions, exhibitions and live music open year round.
Peel is also a great base for walkers and cyclists with an abundance of hills and countryside nearby. Don't forget to take a look at the Raad-Ny-Foillan coastal footpath which winds through Peel, a perfect way to explore the coast. Alternatively there is The Triskelion Way Trail, offering varied walking conditions, glorious countryside and coastal views and historically significant places. Watersport enthusiasts are also catered for with kayak hire, fishing, boat trips and Basking Shark watch. It's also very common to see Dolphins in the bay! The Heritage Trail follows the old steam railway line from Douglas to Peel and provides an easy route for cyclists and walkers alike.
The local bus stop is a two minute walk away, allowing easy access to explore the Isle of Man!

The property was a perfect location to explore the island. There was plenty to do in Peel and as it was so close to the beach front, shops and restaurants we just walked everywhere. The three bedrooms are a good size and worked well for our two teenagers. The kitchen was well equipped and the games and dvds came in handy too.

I would highly recommend this property. It is in an excellent location and only a minute walk away from the beach. This house catered perfectly for a family of 4. It is very well equipped should you want to cater for yourself. It refurbishment and layout is very modern. 5/5 for our family.

Really enjoyed my stay here with friends during April. House was spotless and excellently equipped - it was a lovely touch that some food items had been left for us! We also made use of the numerous films and board games. Rooms and beds were a good size, and bathroom large too. We did find the shower a little slippy! Location was excellent, right in the heart of Peel, very close to Co-op and many pubs, as well as was a minutes walk from the bus stop to get buses to Douglas and Ramsey.
Island escapes were good at keeping in touch with emails and texts, and were responsive to any requests.
I would stay here again, and would also choose to stay with Island Escapes again.

The house is clean and tidy with good facilities. The stairs are typical of an old fisherman's house however so not ideal for elderly or disabled people. The beds were comfortable and the diner/lounge big enough for our party of 5 including a nine year old.
Be aware that there is no parking space and you are on a restricted corner, so be careful when exiting the doors. We parked on the promenade (a couple of minutes away)

Clean and the same as last time we stayed. Crisp packet and a nurf gun from a previous stay behind bed but basic cleaning was great.
The internet doesn’t work and this is the same as last time.
Everything else was great and the welcome pack was a nice touch.

House was perfect for us, well equipped and a good size. We really appreciated the welcome hamper and the Christmas decorations. We were worried about the house being cold but heating was good and so was the wood burner.

Altogether a comfortable, attractive and well kitted out cottage . Our one glitch was the wi-fi which was very slow and contantly dropped off.

The positives: Easy to find; close to everything you need in Peel; decent living, dining, bathroom, kitchen and bedroom space (for two of the rooms); plenty of pots, pan and utensils; nice touch with the welcome gifts; ample wardrobe space for hanging up clothes; when we had an electrical issue Island Escapes rep came very quickly and was very friendly and helpful.
Suggestions: Glass tables in living room are not kid-friendly; could do with another small small table in the living room; too many fake plants – collect dust and get in the way; washer/dryer could do with an update – drying setting didn't work; bath is very deep - be careful if travelling with someone elderly; no decent drawer storage in the bedrooms; small attic room is way too small for a double bed – should be a single; window seal needs replacing in that room as bad draft got in and my son was cold in the night; bin collection day needs updating in the file – it's Wednesday not Friday; more info on how and where to recycle would be useful; and could do with making it very clear where you can park for free (i.e. without a permit) in Peel - we were able to park outside the back door most days.

A lovely house in the heart of Peel, close to the beach, castle, cafes, shops etc.
We had an excellent stay and the dogs enjoyed the walks on the cliff tops from the door!

Nice property, staircase was awkward. Kitchen well equipped, and all mod-cons included. WiFi flakey, not really good enough.

Over to visit family and this was a great place to stay.
The whole place has been so tastefully decorated, just lovely.
Beds very comfortable, not always a given when you stay away.
Overall a great place.

Great place to stay in peel. The house gets damp at this time of year and the layout is different but you get use to it. The back door key can be a bit dodgy.

Amazing property and great service by Island Escapes. 5 Star
Thanks to Island Escapes who assisted with our experience at the IOM TT 2022. We hired multiple properties, which were of an excellent standard through to include Beaches reaches.
