About this lodge
Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall, it's ALWAYS Mountain Season! This 6 bedroom/4 bathroom house is the perfect mountain getaway for your next family or friends get together. Located in the four season Wintergreen resort with quick access to skiing, golf, hiking trails, and gorgeous views, and a 15 min drive to Devil's Backbone, the southern end of the Nelson 151 tasting trail – you won’t ever want to leave!
Ideal layout for 3+ families, 4-6 couples, or large family groups. Upstairs you will find the main living space – kitchen, dining and family rooms – in addition to a primary bedroom, a guest California king bedroom and bathroom, and a laundry room. The lower level has a large media/rec room with a gas fireplace and ping pong table. There are two bedrooms with a bathroom on one side and two bedrooms with a bathroom on the other side, allowing for flexible sleeping arrangements.
Our comfortable family room is the ultimate space for gathering. Cozy up to the wood burning fireplace in our large family room with vaulted, beamed ceilings. Firewood is provided to get you started, but if you plan to burn through a large amount of wood, we ask that you contribute to the pile so that we don’t run out for the next guest staying. We have a large collection of games and puzzles for the whole family, as well as a built in desk tucked in the corner and another desk on the side for the teleworkers or virtual students who still want to be close to the action.
Fantastic outdoor space abounds! Lots of both open and covered deck space where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine as the sun sets. Grill up dinner on the gas grill or relax after a day of hiking in the large hot tub on the back deck. There’s an outdoor dining table seating 6, as well as several chairs to lounge in on both front and back decks.
Entertaining little ones? We have a bin stocked with a variety of outdoor toys such as balls, frisbees, bubbles, and sidewalk chalk. During the summer you will have access to an outdoor heated pool with a playground and covered and screened in picnic area, all within a 4-5 minute drive from the house.
We are just a short 5-10 minute walk from the stunning Devil’s Knob overlook!
Our house has 6 TVs - all are signed into a guest Netflix account and the main room TVs are signed into a guest Disney+ account. We’ve got 300Mbps Wi-Fi so you never need to worry about having enough bandwidth for your group..
Our kitchen is well stocked for cooking for a large group. You will find coffee/coffee supplies in the cupboard, and a bottle of wine in the wine rack!
We have both traditional drip coffee makers, as well a Keurig (bring your own pods). We have a crockpot, electric griddle, and dozens of pots and pans (send inquiry if you are wondering about anything specific not mentioned).
We provide all linens (to include 8 towels for hot tub use) and toiletry items, as well as basic supplies such as TP, paper towels, soap, kitchen sponge, etc. Our goal is for you to just show up with clothes and food and enjoy your stay!
Coming with small children? We have 2 pack n plays, a highchair, booster seat, and gate for the stairs.
Bringing a pet? No problem! We even have a crate you can use, and pet food/water bowls with a mat so you can leave yours at home. We do charge a $175 flat fee per stay for 1-2 pets - please send an inquiry if you would like to bring more than 2 pets. (Note: if the $175 pet fee does not cover wear and tear or damages, we also have a $500 security deposit in place. We also respectfully ask that you do not bring pets that are likely to cause damage).
Guest membership to The Nature Foundation at Wintergreen is included - free guided Living with Nature Hikes and discounts on other events and purchases.
Early check in will be available when there is not a group checking out the same day.

Our family loved staying at this home. It was clean, and beautiful, and just perfect for all our family. We’ve stayed in Wintergreen before, but never this home. Would stay again!

This house was great for our family of 13. There was plenty to do in the house for the kids in the basement while the adults enjoyed the upstairs. The communication with the owner was quick and she even registered us ahead of time for the pool in the resort. We enjoyed the mountain and forest views from the house and even saw a bear walking through the neighborhood a couple of times.

The house was beautiful! Very clean. Everything was as advertised. Owner was easy to contact and she got back to us with our questions very quickly.

This beautiful home had everything we needed for a great stay.
Plenty of room upstairs or downstairs to hang our as a group or separate.
The bedrooms are well layed out and comfortable.
The huge dining table let us all eat breakfast and dinner together, and the kitchen had everything we needed.
The hot tub is oversized, and a welcomed treat at the end of the day.
There was plenty of firewood for the upstairs fireplace while the downstairs fireplace is gas.
We had a great trip and defintely plan to return - hopefully when there's more snow.

We had the best time at the Mountain Season Lodge! It was one of the cleanest VRBOs we’ve rented, and it was perfectly welcoming in every way. Each room was wonderfully appointed, and the beds were very comfortable. The hot tub was a few quick steps from the master bedroom, and we enjoyed many laughs in it after our fun days on the slopes. The house is close to the spa, which meant we could catch the shuttle and avoid dealing with busy parking at the slopes. The host was easy to reach and very helpful, too. The only reason it didn’t give location five stars was that parking was a little tight, and the backyard backs up to the neighbors. We would definitely return!

Perfect home for a large family gathering and the most well equipped home, I’ve ever rented. Communication with the owner was easy and I look forward to another visit.

We had a great stay at this property! We have a group of 7 couples that do an annual trip somewhere drivable from DC. This was by far our favorite house over the last 6 years of doing this trip. The kitchen was very well equipped for a rental, the house was stocked with firewood, and provided lots of information of things to do in the area. Great stay, great host, would definitely recommend!

We had 9 people in our group and house provided plenty of spaces for all of us. House was very clean and kitchen was well stocked. Stephanie was very responsive and flexible with our check-in, check-out schedule. Having the ping-pong table and plenty of games kept the kids occupied. There were many thoughtful extras that made the trip easier like travel size toothbrushes, toothpastes, extra towels, etc. Overall we enjoyed the stay very much.

Our extended family had a wonderful spring break in this house. The house had lots of room to accommodate 3 generations of family members. The kitchen was well appointed with everything to be able to cook and enjoy meals at the house. The ping pong table and hot tub were a hit with teenagers and adults.
We loved being able to walk to the Old Appalachian Trail and enjoy the views that the trail has to offer. Stephanie was very easy to work with and she had wonderful recommendations regarding activities and restaurants in the area.

My sister and I spent Thanksgiving week with our combined two families totaling 13 people (all adults). The house was perfect for our needs. The house is clean and well decorated, the beds were comfortable, the fireplace was cozy and the hot tub was a fun bonus! The scenery all around and views from the mountain were spectacular, and we went on several hiking trails walking distance from the house. We were only slightly disappointed that we didn't spot a bear lol. Would definitely rent here again in the future.
