Pared-back yet boasting plenty of Old World charm with its beamed ceilings and wood floors, this home has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Kick back on the sofa with a glass of locally-bought Italian wine or sit down to a meal at the dining table as the light pours in through the tall windows. The two bedrooms – one of which is on the mezzanine floor – are stylishly minimalist offering the perfect canvas for a restful night’s sleep and leaving you rested and ready for another exciting day of sightseeing. Speaking of exploring, you’ve got plenty to see within easy walking distance, including the Basilica of Santa Croce (four minutes), Piazza della Signoria (ten minutes), the Uffizi Gallery (also ten minutes) and the famous Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (fifteen minutes). Home truths: *This home is on the second floor of a building with no lift, so it may not be suitable for those with limited mobility *The apartment is laid out over two floors with internal stairs leading up to the mezzanine bedroom *The mezzanine bedroom is open to the main bedroom and living area *The one bathroom is accessed via the main bedroom *The kitchen is compact and lacks an oven or a microwave *Your host may be able to accommodate pets on request, by written approval only *The shower can be slippery – we recommend packing shower slippers *You will need to bring your own basics to get you started, including shampoo *The building's entrance is shared with the other residents *24-hour self-check-in is available
