Big rooms. Walk to town. Great view of town. Chris was most accommodating to get us breakfast before 7:00.
Our room did not have an attached bathroom. We still had a private bathroom but it was across the hallway.
Driving there was circuitous on very narrow roads.

Lovely home in a fantastic location. Room was well appointed, very comfortable and as advertised. Chris was a great host with good local information. Really enjoyed the fresh cooked pancake breakfast. Beautiful gardens.

Chris and Louise are the most fabulous hosts. We just needed somewhere to stay while cycling the Traws Eryri; what we actually got was a beautiful home away from home. They have considered every detail and want this to be a place that restores your soul. I now want to work out all the reasons I can to go and stay again!

The host couldn't do any more for us, excellent place to say, a very enjoyable experience, I would highly recommend.
Nothing.

Bryn Mair is a lovely period house, very clean and well furnished with great views in an elevated position above Dolgellau. Chris and Louise were very welcoming, helpful, and good to talk to. They were splendid hosts all round. The breakfast choices were great and we particularly enjoyed Chris's pancakes with maple syrup and bacon as well as excellent coffee. We had two rooms, one for our daughter and both were spacious with excellent facilities and lovely bathrooms.
Nothing really.

Stunning house in equally stunning location.
Very friendly hosts and two gorgeous dogs, although if we hadn't met them outside, we'd have never known they were there.
Lovely breakfast.
Room was wonderful with a marvellous view and a nice touch of fresh flowers for my birthday.
It was all great

Wow, what a fabulous property, beautiful, well decorated rooms, gorgeous gardens and breathtaking views. Wonderful, friendly hosts, great facilities.
We loved everything, beautiful little town to wander round and eat in. The road is very narrow up to the property but once you’ve conquered it the first time, it’s fine.

Chris & Louise could not have been more helpful during my 3 day stay last weekend. The house is very clean and well appointed with great views over the town and beyond.
The room was very comfortable with good facilities and excellent coffee 😊.
The breakfast was whatever you wanted, so I opted for the Croissants which were fresh, hot and served by Chris in his pinny 😅
Nothing to dislike, it was just what I was looking for.

Really beautiful building in a tranquil and quiet setting with gorgeous views.
The town is also beautiful.
There was a good level of communication prior to my stay, I had a lot of questions so it was reassuring to have prompt replies back via email.
The owner kindly leant me a usb plug as I had forgotton my own.
I didn’t stay for breakfast as wanted to get out of there but the options did all look nice.
Guesthouse is run by a husband and wife couple (didn’t say their names) I was greeted by a man who told me I seemed stressed - went on to say this multiple times. if someone is visibly stressed and anxious perhaps the thing to do is try and put them at ease instead of keep pointing it out. He seemed incredulous at the fact I was only staying one night for some downtime. It’s really no one’s business how long I stay anywhere or why.
They have two large dogs which I discovered off lead on going to explore the gardens. I said I wasn’t great with large dogs to which he said he would catch them if they came over but didn’t. He actually went to grab me at one point rather than the dog. Owner was a little tactile whilst speaking to me on a couple of occasions - maybe just his way but I wasn’t comfortable.
His wife did not come over and say hello or deal with me once, which as a solo female traveller would have massively put me at ease.
On showing me the room, I was advised to use the handheld shower rather than the main overhead shower, due to potential for water to get everywhere. Said I would need to mop excess water up with toilet paper “so best to use the handheld”. I ended up not even showering as felt too paranoid to use it.
The room was overall clean but the bedsheets did feel gritty which I mentioned in the morning as it had made me itchey. Suggested to me it was bobbling but it felt harder than that.
This is obviously just my opinion and these things may have not bothered other people but I wanted to share to help others make a decision.

Beautiful property, great breakfast, welcoming hosts and short walk from town centre.
Old property so sleep was slightly disrupted by creaky floorboards/ sound of people coming and going.

The owners were very kind and attentive.
It is a pity that there is no reference to the Welsh setting in the house, apart from its name. We were Welsh language tourists so this invisibility of the local language was disappointing.

We had a wonderful 4 day stay at Chris‘ and Louise‘s accomodation. The room was clean, the breakfast great and they gave us good tips for visiting Snowdonia, especially Cadair Idris. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden with many different flowers and you have a great view over the village Dollgelau. And their dogs are very cute. Thank you for having us! :)

Everything really . Beautiful location and room was exceptional, comfortable and clean . Bathroom was not en-suite but it was close and robes provided . It really wasn’t an issue . Lovely large shower with good water flow .Hosts were very welcoming and friendly
Hot Breakfast was good quality and coffee was top notch !! A personal preference would have been tomatoes and mushrooms with the breakfast possibly instead of sausage and beans !! Also, some fruit and yoghurt would have made it exceptional instead of being very good .

Amazing property, gorgeous views from our window.
The owners preferred to not have any lights on during the day, so it could be quite dark inside. Our bathroom was across the landing, not in our room.

Firstly the setting and location was great, with beautiful views. The host was very welcoming and down to earth.. What a beautiful home, tastefully decorated and very clean. Fabulous bedroom, beds very comfortable, with tea, coffee and chocolates waiting for us, after and long drive. The fresh milk was kept in a little cooler in the hallway in cute little milk bottles. Although they have only been doing this for a year, you would believe they had been doing it forever, they have it spot on.. Breakfast was great, cooked if you fancied. We met their red setters, who they clearly love. Thankyou for letting us stay in your home and keep doing what you're doing.
No negative points at all.
