This property is one that needs improvement. It is not suggested if you are traveling with a large family in a large suv and it will scrape the top of your car when you park. Hallways smell and rooms air blow out like it is a swamp cooler. We also had a cockroach in the kitchen. Beware

To our surprise, when we arrived there was no electricity or AC available in the room. It was out for about 3 hours the first day, and 3-4 hours the second day from 8am-12:30pm. The AC was also off the final day we checked out, so each day there was an outage of some sorts (total of 3 nights stay). The elevators were also down periodically, so once we had to wait 10 minutes for an elevator. There was NO notice in advance for this and no form of compensation, they only told us when we arrived to check in. The room itself was set up as expected, however, we found some garbage scraps on one of the nightstands beside the bed, and one of the drawers was unable to be closed and was taking up space in the room. The conditioner and body wash were both empty upon arrival. There were also many stains on the fridge and the fridge itself was very sticky and difficult to open. In general the room itself was also very dusty, and never once cleaned or housekept. Housekeeping only comes every 3 days here. One positive I will give is the view was quite nice from the balcony.

Would not recommend this property to anyone. Very outdated, reoccurring hotel power outages, was not clean, parking lot was a bit sketchy. Once I checked I checked out within 30-45 minutes.

Hotel was outdated, elevator takes so long, the floor in our room is dirty. It’s not worthy of the price we paid for. The only good thing about this hotel is you’re near the beach.

I’ve stayed at this property several times. For me it is close to UH where my son lives. I like the large bedroom with king sizzle bed. I like the Lani and it has a living room area and full kitchen. It is basic with no thrills but is perfect for my needs. I’ve been on several different floors. This time I was at pool level and there was a very loud hum in the bathroom/bedroom. Higher up floors didn’t have that..

We had two units with 8 people. Rooms we as advertised. Lobby staff very helpful. Since they are working on the hotel, we only had one day of power outage but not a big deal. We made several meals in kitchen; it was clean and utensils were adequate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at the Aston Waikiki Sunset from August 16 to 21, 2024, with our family. Despite positive reviews before booking, our experience did not meet expectations. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find our room small and outdated, with termite-infested furniture on the side tables. We reported this issue to the reception, but unfortunately, we did not receive a response. Additionally, the information provided indicated that room service would be available on the third day of our stay. However, when I called on that day, I was informed that room service was not available for stays shorter than five days. To make matters worse, there was an issue with the bathroom water, which took hours to repair after we reported it. Overall, our stay fell short of the standards we anticipated based on the reviews.

The hotel is a little off from Waikiki, where you can stay away the noise from Waikiki, but close to the Waikiki. We don’t use the kitchen, but one bedroom & living room layout is great benefit for my family with moderate price. We always stay this hotel in Oahu.

This place is really starting to show its age. Furniture very tired and not that comfortable Pool area is always windy and full of broken tiles. Checking out pool towels is ridiculous. Over all bathroom is clean but old. Sheets all had holes in them. Birds sit above the balcony and crap all over the patio furniture so can’t use it without cleaning it first. We stay here for long periods and it’s inexpensive and close to beach but we will have to start staying elsewhere in the future. Complained to front desk about baby roaches but nothing was done. Bought bug spray ourselves. It’s Hawaii we get it.

Property is showing age. Carpet is dirty and worn out, appliances are old and damaged, walls and doors are banged up, and elevators are terrible. The best way to describe this place is you get what you pay for. There are a lot nicer places in Waikiki but not at this price point. The worst part was the $37.00 per night “resort fee” that they charge. This is far from a resort! The location is awesome with just a short walk to the beach and a ton of places to eat and drink. 50/50 on this one. Didn’t hate it but didn’t love it either

I liked how close it was to everything, the amenities ( having a kitchen, bbq, swimming pool, gym beach towels, mini store) I didn't having to pay for parking lol, and there was construction going on but wasn't bad. Room did not get cleaned until day 4 But other than that I would stay there again !

Overall everything was great. I gave it a 4 because we paid for the week of parking and 3/5 days they oversold the parking so we had to park and pay at the zoo. Also bigger vehicles not a good idea as we couldn’t park one of our vehicles here at all due to height. We know for next time to get a smaller car too. But we paid for 5 days of parking and 3/5 days ended up paying somewhere else for parking. Property also didn’t fill our soaps and towels fully each time so we had to ask for additional and go get them, including toilet paper and paper towels. But staff was friendly everytime and helpful!!

The staff is great. Penny printed some documents for me and really saved the day. Rooms are clean, a bit dated, but comfortable. Parking is $25/ day, fairy cheap for the area. The beach and restaurants are a close walk.

This was our second time staying at the Aston Waikiki Sunset. Our first time was great. This time we had my handicapped mother. We called the hotel beforehand to request a toilet seat extender and a shower chair. It took one and a half days for them to bring these items after I called housekeeping and the front desk repeatedly. They seemed not to care. We will not be staying here again.
