Lovely hotel and brea with my family. The check in however was terrible. It took from 10:30 until 17:00 to check in and get our room's. The bookings were confused with one of our party being in a room two floors away. They blamed hotels.com for the confusion which was not true.
Great holiday, great hotel, terrible check in

Amazing and free parking.

Stayed for 1 night at Rock Hotel convenient location near cable car. Hotel feels a little tired and in need of a renovate. Breakfast and dinner service slow and pricey.
4.0
Great location and proximity to the cable car and the rock of Gibraltar (5 minute walk). Free parking which proved useful. It’s kind of “the” hotel due to its location to the rock. It’s a tourist haven (probably to be expected) and generally well put together with stylings of history and celebrity guests though it could be spruced up a bit. But it’s clean and convenient. The desk staff has a few less than helpful folks which was unfortunate but others on staff make up for it.

Iconic hotel wonderful staff and good clean room and a wonderful powerful shower.
The only thing I was disappointed with was the breakfast, limited choice and birds pecking at the pastries inside the hotel.
An excellent stay overall and would not hesitate to return.

Had problems with the first room assigned and then the next room was a bit uncomfortable for a big person la myself. The hotel is in great condition and has great views of Gibraltar. Staff super friendly.

Great hotel safe , modern and upscale
Don’t forget this is British territory so bring British electrical adapters (VS euro)

Nice bar area and terrace with a lovely and legendary bar staff.
Pool area nice enough but across road from hotel so feels a little detached.
Room wasn’t ready when we arrived and we were told we would get a call when it was available…no-one called…no apology either.
Woken by banging and hammering at 6:15 am…front desk couldn’t have cared less when I told them.
Not the service I expect from a hotel of this standard.

Comfortable hotel, I keep coming back

Amazing service. However, room was small . terrace did not have sunbeds. Aircon was too strong even on low. Breakfast outside was full of wild birds and bees. We had to flee inside. No fresh juices only some cheap stuff. Swimming by the pool was great however You have to cross the street in danger of speeding vespas. Be aware.

The property has excellent views, a good restaurant and bar, the swimming pool is decent. TV has 200 channels
I think some older people may struggle with the hill up to the hotel entrance.

Very welcoming and helpful staff, very clean and the room very comfortable . I would definitely return

The staff members at The Rock Hotel are the best! The rooms are clean, fresh, and aesthetically pleasing. We had a great stay!

Lovely staff , beautiful hotel, lovely pool area. However there are currently apartments under construction on the rock above the swimming pool and the noise from the two huge cranes is constant . However the cranes noise aside, we managed to have a lovely stay and the pool bar and staff were helpful and so friendly.

This hotel was located on the top of the hill. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful with an amazing view. There isn't much around but the lift to the top of the rock was in walking distance. You could also walk to the downtown restaurants. Walking back is all uphill and taxis are hard to find. It is doable though.

Nice hotel. Had the Junior Suite. Not great front desk communication. Restaurant and bar close too early, in my opinion given the location. Room needs a retrofit for the AC unit. The AC is quiet noisy. Nice room but the terrace is not cleaned. Be prepared when crossing the street. Thankfully hotel has safety signage around the property.

Mr Gines is super friendly and helpful. There was no option to pay in advance through hotels.com and he help with online payment so the guest didn't have to pay anything at the property.

The receptionists are good and friendly.
The space of the room is good and well layout.
Having problem with TV. The kettle inside was rusty. The tea pot was not cleaned after being used. The pillows were too hard and uncomfortable. The air conditioning unit blew out some dirts. We had to turn it off and open the window and balcony door instead.

Location and facilities were beautiful! Staff were great and attentive but our room was not ready at check in time.

Amazing location
Night time in April was bit cold. Room heater was locked and had to ask double extra blankets

Never fails to please. Excellent service in this classic hotel. Great location, good food. Rooms are a bit dated now and renovation is needed soon. But, a lot is forgiven because the staff are no nice.

The staff could not have been better. Check in/out smooth and professional. I returned to my room in the midst of housekeeping’s visit and was incredibly impressed by the thoroughness of their work. 13 out of 10. Grand dame of Gib hotels still has it.

We absolutely loved the cleanliness, charm, service and location this Hotel provided, from the moment we arrived until we departed the front desk staff, porter, bar & restaurant and maid service were just fantastic. It rained our three days in Gibraltar so we ate all of our meals here and every one of them was excellent!
Would we stay here again? Without Question!

The property was incredible. The views from our room were second to none. The people were fantastic right from when we first arrived, all were helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. I honestly just can’t say enough about this property and Gibraltar in general what a fantastic and beautiful place yes it’s small but there’s so much to do and this property is truly a landmark. I compare it to the Plaza in New York the Royal York in Toronto true landmarks.

They reassigned our balcony room to a lower floor, giving the higher floor (quieter balcony) room to someone else, assuredly who booked direct instead through Hotels.com.

I stay here every year but this time I felt cold in the mornings.A little heat in radiators would of been nice

Reception staff weren’t very accommodating or friendly. I know it’s only a 4* but we did expect a little more. The hotel is run down, we went over valentines and there was no valentines celebrations at all.
Stay here once and probably wouldn’t go back again. The restaurant staff however was very friendly and the food was nice.

Nice quality hotel in good location with great views. Staff were very attentive and helpful.

My stay was ok, but the wooden floors in the corridors to the rooms are a disaster and incredibly noisy.
Also greeted with brown water from my shower so overall a dissatisfactory stay. I mentioned the 'brown water' when checking out, no hint of an apology or any form of compensation. Unfortunately this is just not good enough and I will be staying elsewhere when I next visit Gib

This is a classic older hotel but very well maintained and updated. Rooms are small and pricey, however the location is excellent and the staff are superb. It is a very short walk to the cable car and downtown. If you want the Gibraltar experience, this is the perfect choice for your hotel.
