The hotel is set in an old building with quirky corridors and corners. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed the bar.
It’s in a convenient location, is easily walkable to the old town but far enough away to not be too noisy. Having said that when we stayed there was a massive party of students who ran along the corridors for hours at night. That’s not the fault of the hotel but be aware they book coach tours so it can get very busy.
The tap in the bath / shower had the hot and cold the wrong way round - not a major issue once I’d realised, after a freezing cold shower! There weren’t many plugs in the room, and some of the fittings were a little dated - for example a couple of chips in the sink.
The positives definitely outweigh the very small negatives and I would definitely return.

The property needs a serious overhaul. The rooms are dark and dingy, the smells in the public spaces were horrible, trying to get ready in the bathroom was impossible, and the condition of everything is rough. I immediately informed the staff that our room was not going to work because of how bad the condition was and they showed me two more rooms that were just as bad. In one, the door knob even feel off and the hotel staff could not put it back on.
The staff tried to make it up to us with free drinks which was kind, but as I told them the only solution for me was for them to cancel my reservation so I could move to another hotel, which they would not do.

Kind staff but the property needs to be updated.

Great location to the city. You can always step by the hotel as the weather is unpredictable sometimes. Prefer 2,60 euro parking 10 mins walking at Oesterparking which is very cheap.

Perfect hotel, high quality , close to everything and reasonably priced. Would totally stay here again. They even had umbrellas to rent which helped us on our rainy day visit.

Excellent location, close to the grand train station.

A nice hotel which was conveniently located for the family. The room had two double beds which was a great size for us however the bathroom was very tired looking and wasn’t that clean. Staff were friendly but not only helpful with free maps of the city, recommendations or directions to their dinning area. It is little things like this which would make me rate the hotel 5 stars.
Otherwise this hotel is worth the money, great for families and ideally located.

Fanstastic location, close enough to all the main attractions of the center but in a quieter neighborhood. It was very convenient and comfortable.

Very quiet and dark room. Perfect location, walking distance to centre and train station. Wonderful staff - all three people working the reception desk were lovely and so helpful, going above and beyond (unfortunately didn’t get their names but cheeked in April 6th and checked out April 7th, so whoever was working then).

Overall hotel was ok. Room occasionally had a musty smell to it. Cleaning of the room could be better as it is not always consistent. Stayed for 4 nights. Little things were always left out or not topped up after each night. Our teabags were refilled but no milk, hand soap was empty but not refilled, We started off with 4 towels on first night but reduced to 2 towels subsequent nights even though there were 4 of us and our tables were never wiped down. The crumbs and food stains were always left on the table. The sink in the bathroom was never cleaned properly. On our first night there, there were bits stuck to the inside sink that was clearly left over from previous guest’s use which was a bit off putting.

The hotel has a cool castle-manor theme. Large rooms and giant bed with super cozy lighting. I was surprised how big everything was. Elevator was a little wonky. Extremely convenient location and good value!

The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The location was fantastic and the service was amazing. However, the room was a bit dated and extremely dark. Also, the insulation was not good enough, we could hear everyone around us. The bed reading lights were made of metal and would get EXTREMELY hot, when having children around, it was a potential safety issue. Luckily, our children were old enough to understand. The water temperature in the shower fluctuated whilst having a shower.

Comfy and great location!

The staff were absolutely amazing and very very helpful.
The few thibgs that kind of let the score dow was that we were staying in a room that had no loft to it. Not a problem but you would expect this calibre of hotel to have a lift.
The bed was really bad as it was like a fold up bed. Very creaky and noisy. We were there for a conference and we did not get good sleep at all. My husband missed the morning training as he did not sleep very well. There was a gap between the edge of bed and where the pillows were placed. This was a big letdown for our experience.
The room did not have any tissues. I had to ask for more tea bags etc.
It is a beautiful hotel but very dated i feel.
We travel alot and we were happy but with these few points could have been better.
On a positive the staff were amazing. Breakfast is very good!
Facilities in reception like water, tea, coffee etc outstanding.

Unpleasant surprise for a NH property. It needs maintainace, Room could not be more noisy you could hear every step from all guests above, lamp on top of bed would not turn off, and they never fixed it, a towel had to be put over it to be able to sleep, torn fabric on the window curtains, shower curtain dirty. Staff at front desk just claim there were no other rooms since the host "groups"and it seems is the priority and it should be level as a group-noisy hotel! We ve always favor NHs brand while traveling and this was a total unpleasent surprise. Would never recomend it

This is a nice hotel in a lovely city. I had a lot of difficulty with the front desk as I had paid through hotels.com in advance and the hotel claimed I hadn’t. That put a damper on my visit. Luckily, the hotels.com virtual chat assistant saved the day. Thank you hotels.com!!

Great location, helpful staff, nice hotel. Room spacious, just not that clean. Bathroom had alot of hair left in it on the walls in the shower and sink. Glasses also dirty. I would stay again

Plenty of room for our family of four. Great location in an amazing city. Easy to walk down Main Street. Close to train station.
Very helpful staff.

Hotel was very tired, worn out furniture, worn out decor, worn out carpets. It was the worst hotel I have stayed in for a long time. Rooms were cold, no heating in the bathroom. Haven’t a clue where all the other 10 out of 10 reviews come from. Bar was quirky and about the best thing about this hotel.

Large room, comfortable beds, Clean and great service, as we had come in from a tour in the cold rain they brought us robe’s and slippers. The breakfast was fabulous and the location is great. Close to the bus station and I would suggest taking the bus to the train station. Great restaurants that are very close.
