I'm not sure when the conference was, but there were tables with dirty dishes there all weekend. The windows in our room were filthy. Saw a cockroach in the courtyard.

The rep at desk was short - no kind greeting, did not advise of any amenities of the property.
Beds were very b uncomfortable.
Best part of stay was the view from roof top bar that I read about & was not advised I had access to.

We liked the Hotel except for one thing. We were kept up by a buzzing noise all night. I talked to Hotel staff about it and all they said was we are sorry. Noise kept us up all night but it was too late in the evening to try and move to another room. I felt they could of handled this better

Expedia took my $575.60 via Paypal and sent me a confirmation even though the hotel was overbooked. Upon arrival I learned that my Expedia reservation and confirmation were worthless and I could not have a room. Desk Manager (Julie) politely explained that someone made a big mistake, but they could not let me have a room even though it was paid for. Seeking refund now.

Great place!

Decent quality stay. Staff were friendly, although was rebuffed for late checkout on a very quiet day at hotel. Location is not very convenient.

Enjoyed my stay.

Breakfast was great.

Very clean hotel. Loved the valet car service for only 22$ a night! Other hotels in charleston are double that! Great restaurant inside hotel. Pool large and plenty of seating, love the fan in bathroom! So many hotels have no fan in bathroom making it hot and gross to shower. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again,

The bartender at the rooftop bar side eyed us several times and never helped us…he walked past us several times helping ppl who walked up after us several times. We finally left and went to the restaurant bar on the lobby floor and although helpful they we’re not sympathetic at all nor was anything done about it. We had our cocktail and appetizers and left. The hotel isn’t as close to things as we would have hoped but that’s on us I guess for not doing better research. Honestly would not book here again. The front desk person was lovely and gave us access to the concierge lounge which was great, and she provided an entire sheet of restaurant recommendation and a large city map which was helpful.

Nice hotel and friendly staff. However the hotel needs some updates.

Extremely disappointing Marriott. Clearly NOT a true Marriott. 1*. Not up to date or modernized. Arrived 2 days ago, noticed a cigar but in the fire-pit, its still there ?? Staff have NO idea of the local landmarks whatsoever. City shuttle bus scary & strongly advise not taking it. Rooftop advertised, but its on the 3rd floor therefore not top floor but its nice. Barmaid on rooftop said by law cannot lite up the firepit when i asked HOWEVER when i left same evening the 1st floor firepit was on. Carpet in room a disgrace bathroom fan like a truck noisy & did not remove condensation. Got eaten alive by bugs on the patio had to get medical help & perscription for bites. Very dated property. Do NOT recommend.

I almost always stay at Marriott properties. This particular hotel was disappointing. The pool was VERY cloudy, couldn't see the bottom for the entire visit and no shade in the pool area. In the room, windows were fogged up - permanently (between panes) where I would have had a view of the river. Bathroom was clean but old grout and noisy fan gave appearance of dingy. A couple of the outlets did not work which made charging devices. Saffire restaurant was fine, had one light lunch and a drink - bartender was great. Good news: The 'barista' at the coffee bar was wonderful, bed was comfortable, pillows and linens were top notch. I would not stay at this location again.

Was good, if you get a good deal then stay here but its not the best location to the downtown area. Entire property was clean and rooms were good but just a little out dated. The restaurant is not that great at all. Pool area is nice. I would stay again but only if we got a really good deal.

The staff was very nice and willing by to help and answer all questions. The hotel room itself was clean and updated. The pool was very clean and open

The property is in pristine conditions, clean and neat. Staff helpful and attentive. Fitness center available 24 hours. If you are not willing to go out for diner, the restaurant at the hotel is a great option, as well as the room service. Great bar to mingle and have a good time with live music, and if the weather permits, you can enjoy the rooftop or the nice courtyard.

Nice hotel and very accommodating. We used valet parking as not much more money and quick/convenient! Rooms were spacious. Bathroom was clean and shower was great. Pool was nice and open for long hours. Large sitting area around the pool and outside of the hotel was pleasant to hang out and relax later in the day!

It was a great place to stay to drop my daughter at college.

Loved the location and amenities of the hotel. Elevators were abnormally slow with lines when on the first floor. Floor hallway smelled very bad but room was clean and smelled fresh.

My room was ok … but it smelled like dirty sewage in and around the hotel. I know of others who stayed there and their rooms were below standard.

Overall this hotel was great. The room and areas throughout were clean and well maintained. The beds were exceptionally comfortable! While the room never had a bad odor, there were times when the hall to the room along with the side entrance area did. The only real negative to this property is the parking. Which is along each side and in the back. All valet parking is designated in the few front spaces and side that are closest to the entrance. To me this makes no sense considering someone bringing these cars to the entrance for the owners!!! While people who (pay regular parking) have to walk to their cars have to park the farthest away. There was rain during our visit and multiple areas of the parking lot flood making it difficult or impossible to park. Thankfully there are two side entrances but its still a long distance if you’re stuck parking in the back!

Charged a parking fee even though I didn’t have a car
6.0
The staff weren’t very welcoming. The parking was terrible and had a handicapped need unless we would have done valet parking which is super silly when it’s one parking space off and multiple places marked as valet. More valet parking than regular parking. I’m sure there won’t be park your own soon. Whatever the cleaning people spray in the hallways and rooms was overpowering. I could smell it in my clothes when I got home and took them out to wash.
