This is a gem of a hotel. Excellent service. Cozy and modern both
Sophisticated but not pretentious. Great location in the heart of things.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. All of the staff were so kind and helpful. If I ever go to Amsterdam again I will be sure to stay here.

Nice hotel...interesting history!

This is a lovely property with an amazing setup for rooms. Lots of characters but modern and luxurious. My room had a tiny balcony which helped me sit and watch the canal with wine. Staff was helpful at every point

Excellent hotel. Exceptionally helpful, friendly, & kind staff (thank you Lorraine). Location great, as walkable to majority of sites. Room was clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi was spotty but we had our own hotspot.
Highly recommend this lovely hotel for its charm, location, staff and cleanliness.

This is a unique and beautiful hotel that features special qualities associated with a luxury global accommodation experience.
The staff was kind, thoughtful, attentive, and thorough.
The intimate dining room has multiple nooks and is a peaceful and enjoyable place to take in the view of the canal.
We loved our stay. We hope we can return again!

The staff couldn’t have been nicer. They made us feel
Welcome and were constantly going above and beyond to help us. Room was clean and pretty with a view of the canal. Breakfast was varied and very good. Front desk staff exceptional. The red head- sorry forgot her name- walked outside with us and up the block to show us how to use the tram.

Central location and we opted for a room with a canal view which was really nice!!

The best feature of this hotel is the very friendly service. I would love to revisit this hotel.
The hotel has a good location close to cafes, restaurants and shops. A grocery store is a 5 minute walk away.
Great breakfast with a good selection of food and drinks. Everything is fresh. You can order lovely crepes/pancakes, and scrambled eggs, omelette etc.
We stayed in a canal view deluxe double room on the top floor. It was clean. The view to the canal was beautiful.
The room was OK in size (app 20 sq.meters), but no more than that. The bed and linen were top notch. There was a fresh and modern bathroom with a bathtub and shower, and double sinks. Not much water pressure in the shower though, but fair enough for what is basically a 17th century building.
The hotel has a cosy bar, and a lot of art/paintings are on display in the hotel lobby if you are interested in that sort of thing.
One small negative issue: please note that if you stay here during the summer on very hot days, you can’t expect the room to be cool even though it has air conditioning.
On our day of arrival Amsterdam had +30 degrees. The hotel provided an additional air conditioning unit in our room, and a fan. Well done by the staff. They were very helpful.
Still, the room temperature was around 26-27 degrees on the first evening, which is too much for me because I am used to a colder climate. Fortunately, the outside temperature dropped and the room cooled off during the night and it was fine.

I recently stayed at the Ambasse Hotel in Amsterdam and had a wonderful experience. This elegant and posh hotel stands out with its unique charm and character. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and even escorted me to my room, bringing my bags and showing me around the property. They also provided excellent recommendations for late-night dining.
The hotel's quirky, labyrinth-like halls add to its old-world charm, making it feel like a true escape. My room was exactly as depicted in the online photos, with no exaggeration. I highly recommend the Ambasse Hotel for anyone seeking a refined and memorable stay in Amsterdam.

Clean and quiet hotel. Nice restaurant. Simple breakfast buffet, with fresh fruit, pastries omelette made to order, juices etc.
Willem was especially nice and helpful with luggage and problem solving. Short walks to many attractions.

The hotel was very nice and we enjoyed our stay overall. The area was very convenient to all the sites and many restaurants & the area was very quiet. Our room was nice and we slept well in the comfortable beds. Sadly the coffee was not great and we did not find the breakfast to be particularly good considering the price. Also, it is important to note that there are many stairs in unusual places. It is necessary to go down multiple steps to enter the hotel with suitcases. Also even when exiting the elevator you may need to navigate a step or two to get to your room. It was fine for us but I imagined it would be difficult for someone with physical challenges.

Our first visit to Amsterdam was wonderful! The Ambassade hotel exceeded our expectations and we loved our stay there! Very friendly and helpful staff and the rooms were immaculate! Highly recommend!

Lovely hotel in fantastic location. All staff were very friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. Our canal view room was worth the extra expense and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Bathroom was newly refurbished and very modern.
Food was of good quality at breakfast and one dinner in the restaurant, if a little on the expensive side.
Would definitely stay at the Ambassade Hotel again.
Thank you for a very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Great hotel, very walkable. The quietest room we have ever had, with perhaps the most comfortable bed ever

The hotel was very appealing and in a great location that allowed us to walk to all the sites and tours we planned to visit. There were plenty of restaurants and shops in close proximity. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with a large and comfortable bathroom. Their breakfast was excellent with hot and cold offerings that were unique. We would love to visit Amsterdam again and definitely stay there again.

Our flight was canceled so we booked a night here and absolutely loved it. The owner is a collector of COBRA art (COpenhagen, BRussels, Amsterdam postwar art) and he has filled the hotel walls with prints and paintings from his collection. I absolutely loved the art, so this was a real bonus. And the library and reading rooms were full of great books on different subjects. I had planned to go out on the town, but found myself reading some of the books in the cozy reading room instead, and I didn’t regret it at all.
The room décor was not to my taste (kind of Hollywood glam), but it was extremely comfortable. The mattress and pillows were perfect, not too hard or soft, but just right. The floors had radiated heat which was lovely, especially in the bathroom which included a nice large tub! I can’t speak to the food in the hotel restaurant because we opted for a more casual dinner a few doors down. In retrospect I wish we had dined at the hotel because the food at the pub was underwhelming, especially if you like to eat healthily.

The Ambassade is one of the most wonderful hotels I have had the pleasure of spending time. It will be my go to hotel and the hotel I will recommend to anyone traveling to Amsterdam. The rooms are both elegant and charming. The bathrooms are spectacular with the best tub/shower I have ever experienced. The staff was always courteous and helpful. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious. I cannot wait to return!

It is a beautiful property and we enjoyed our stay. One thing needing improvement would be the lighting inside the room, as it was rather dim.

Wonderful staff who were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel’s location is ideal: very conveniently located within the canal district and centrally located without feeling in the midst of busy tourist areas.
10.0
Centrally located on the canal with serene views, comfortable clean accommodation, beautifully furnished, in a fascinating arty hotel featuring an exceptional COBRA art collection and a library of signed first editions in Dutch language of many many titles! Brilliant.

I loved the location...if youre coming to amsterdam this is a wonderful gem to spend a few nights in. Room 12 offers a 2 level view of the canal. The breakfast was top class and the staff was professional, pleasant and informative. I felt like i was priority, and im sure all other guests would say the same! Keep up the great work! Would definitely stay again.

Ambassade is an excellent hotel in so many ways - staff are exceptional and the public facilities are very good . However a word of warning- suite 11 is in an adjoining house- only an issue if it’s raining and you have to put on wet weather gear. The much more significant issue is the bedroom is upstairs via a very tight steep circular staircase and the bathroom is downstairs- this arrangement is problematic for older visitors and those with limited mobility .

Cozy beautiful boutique hotel
Amazing view of the channel
Perfect location , quiet and accessible to stores and restaurants
The staff could have not been more kind
