Exactly what you would expect of a luxurious Hacienda in Yucatán. Perfect, and sitting close to Celestún, Oxkintok, Uxmal, Merida and Campeche

Rustic elegance that transports you back to colonial times. For me, it was a journey to the past, when I used to visit my grandparents at “La finca”. Large rooms and spacious bathrooms. Bath amenities were extraordinary, made with local honey. Smooth and fragrant.
Food was excellent, but service was outstanding. Helpful and always ready to assist you in any way. We used it as a base to visit the many archaeological sites and Celestún, all within an hour drive.

Hacienda Santa Rosa will forever live in my memory as one of the most magical places I've stayed. Despite being managed by a hotel chain, it hasn't lost its patina and authenticity. It is more beautiful in person than in the pictures. I loved our tranquil room with sky-high ceilings, lovely tile work, and a view of a garden outside our window. Because there are only a few guest rooms, the staff spoiled us with attention and kindness--I've never been treated so well before. We were delighted with the vegan dinner and breakfast they made especially for our anniversary. We loved the sound of the birds on the property and walking down Santa Rosa's tiny main street to admire the colorful buildings and say hello to the neighbors. The main swimming pool (there are two!) is fantastic. Everything about this stay was perfect--except having to say goodbye. I will dream of this place forever.

This hotel is incredible, it's one of the most beautiful and quiet places I've visited in recent years
The staff is extraordinary, the cleanliness of the hotel and the service is worthy of the greatest hotels.
I wholeheartedly recommend this place

This property is in a remote area about 1 hour from Merida and 1.5 hours from Campeche. The property is beautifully maintained and has been renovated so it retains its rural and historic charm. The service and food are fantastic. Its a wonderful option if you enjoy the peace and quiet of the Mexican countryside.

The staff was outstanding, personalized. And the food was excellent. Really, our stay was unique.

Very peaceful and relaxing, the staff was happy to accommodate to our desires and make our stay enjoyable, like placing a table in the gardens or dinning options not in the menu. At the end of your stay you don't want to leave.

We had a separate pool behind our room (beside the main pool) which we enjoyed a lot. Food was good, staff friendly.

We had the Mayan casa which was very nice. However, the room had a bug infestation problem and every morning the floor was covered with dead bugs. We really did need the bug net over the bed. It was shocking and the hotel apologized and offered us different accommodations but hey, its the jungle. I would add that arriving at the hotel takes you through a profoundly poor village. In fact, the hotel is surrounded by poverty even though the property is outstanding. This hotel is in a remote part of the Yucatan and a great find if you were already planning to be in the area.

The misleading Hotels.com posting gave no hint that Hacienda Santa Rosa is in the middle of nowhere, at the end of a very long drive down dirt roads.
We had booked two very expensive rooms, but were shown to one room, which smelled bad.
When we realized that, because of a bad smell, we couldn’t sleep there, and that we were not comfortable in that isolated location, we called Hotels.com to explain that we could not stay there, and were leaving.
In the event, we found a comfortable, friendly place in Merida where we happily parked ourselves for the four nights in question.
The cost of the Hacienda Santa Rosa booking was non-refundable in spite of the smell and in spite of being shown to one room and having booked two, on the ludicrous grounds that the $2,400.00 for four nights was some kind of deal.

This is a small hacienda with only 12 rooms close to a very small town in the middle of the Mayan jungle. Very well maintained, large and comfortable rooms, magnificent , friendly and professional staff. Time to relax, enjoy nature, eat well, sleep like a king and learn something about Mexican history and cuture.

One of the nicest and most memorable experiences weve ever had at a hotel. The hacienda is gorgeous, the rooms are huge, quiet, and comfortable, the service is warm and attentive, and the grounds are amazing (especially the huge botanical garden). It was so relaxing we wanted to stay forever. We loved the intimacy of the property (there are only 11 rooms) and the lost-in-time quality (even though it has every modern amenity). The only two negative points Id mention is that the pool is very cold and the wine pours are on the skimpy side.

The staff could not have been more heady at the hacienda Santa Rosa. Beautiful large rooms and delicious homemade cooking. I was very happy there for two nights.

The old Hacienda is all you see in the pics and more. Food is not up to par and location is a bit far from everywhere (although that is probably true of most Haciendas in that region)

lady on the front desk was trying to sell her own stuff and bit annoying, but Edgar and other male waiters were outstanding - they created a really warm, romantic environment.

The pictures on the website did not do the Hacienda justice. It was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived until check-out everything and every detail was perfect. The Hacienda is very well kept as well as the grounds. The staff is extremely friendly, curteous, helpful and attentive. Our room was very clean and always decorated with fresh cut flowers. Every time we left our room it was quickly refreshed. Our private plunge pool in our private garden was icing on the cake. The dining was exceptional. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts as well as superb dinner experiences. Out of our 6 night Yucatan trip Hacienda Santa Rosa was by far the best. We would return in a heart beat and definitely recommend it to anyone. The experience is well worth the splurge. This is indulgence at its finest.

How many times have you gone on vacation and once you have checked into your hotel and looked at the room, realized you could be inside any of 5000 hotel rooms anywhere? Not the case at the Hacienda Santa Rosa, a restored Sisal plantation from the turn of the century. Only has eleven rooms, I have never seen such a high ratio of staff to guests, each came to me and introduced themselves upon meeting me and addresed me by name for the duration of my stay, daily I was asked if the staff could do anything to make my stay more enjoyable, from daytrips to specific meal requests.
