If you’re coming to Calcutta for pleasure to have long days of sight-seeing, eating, and walking for hours through this amazing dense city, the Taj will the perfect oasis to come back to I had a fantastic stay for 4 days and besides the beautiful rooms, restaurants, and lovely..endless breakfasts, it’s the staff and their care to ensure you have a wonderful stay as well as to help you get whatever you need and wherever you go. Special thanks to Samaritan Nandi and the fun & friendly Bimal. Thank you and I will be back.

We had an excellent 2 day stay. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had the breakfast buffet which was very good although being Indian the masala chai did not hit the mark for me, otherwise everything else was excellent. They really try to ensure you have a good stay.

The food quality was not at all up to the luxury hotel stamdard.Street and small outside restaurants serve better food than this.Food menus is very small and unappealing.The food didn't taste up to the par.It is very oily and not appetizing at all. The "Chai and Jhalmori " served was stale and not at all the luxury hotel standard. Overall very bad food being served is not edible at all during any time of the day.

Minibar charges were very high and we were not aware of them. Make sure you get both Breakfast and Dinner is your package as food charges are rocket high.

Exceptional Service and Care for Elderly Guests. I recently had the privilege of sending my elderly father, who is also a heart patient, and our family friend to stay at the Taj Bengal in Kolkata. From the moment they arrived until their departure, the staff's dedication to ensuring their comfort and well-being was truly remarkable. The airport transfers were seamless, thanks to the assistance of Sanjib Ghosh, Mr. Arjun, Tanmoy Biswas, and the entire team. Their attention to detail and personalized service made a lasting impression on me and provided me with the reassurance and confidence to send my elderly parent to this hotel alone again in the future. Throughout their stay, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my father and our family friend felt welcomed and cared for. Overall staff services are excellent. Hotel lobby look grand but the rooms to have some renovation. It very old and the room design I would say very not match. Housekeeping team need to improve the cleanliness, found previous guest hairs still in the room floor and toilet.

I love everything about this hotel . I am a regular . Twice a year I come over and stay here . They are very dependable , I get off at night and I know my transportation for the hotel is waiting for me . Also you will meet a gentleman at the airport who works for the airport and Taj I believe who will make sure you get in the car safe and sound . This is an amazing hotel , every one is so professional and friendly Love it

Surrounded by greenery this property is close to Park Street and Victoria Memorial right opposite Zoo. This makes it convenient for work and pleasure activities. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Food is awesome. Indeed one of the best places to stay in Kolkata.

I requested a non smoking room and was told upon arrival that they only had smoking rooms. I would’ve switched to a different hotel but it was nearly 1am so had no choice. Woke up in the morning with a headache from the engrained smoke smell.

The staff are amazing. I contacted the concierge several times to ask for information and to arrange airport transfers and a city tour and they responded quickly. There was always someone there to help if I had any questions. Sanjib, the concierge, was superb and came and found me to check everything was OK and to ask if there was anything else I wanted to do. My driver Aftab was excellent. A very good driver and companion in the car. Also Debojyoti on the travel desk made sure everything happened on time and as planned. An excellent stay. Would recommend for the level of service.

The stay was enjoyable and the customer service was impeccable. The only issue was the damp and mould smell in the room including the bed linens and pillows. It triggered allergies and we coughed and sneezed throughout our stay. We got an air purifier that helped a little.

Excellent stay. From the moment we checked in to checkout, the staff went over and above to give us the incomparable Taj experience. The room was impeccable and cleaned with care and thoughtfulness. Would not think twice to come back here. Bimal, Alpan, Nunet (?), Wazim, and everyone at front desk, Nizam at the restaurant, the housekeeping staff, every single staff at this property made sure to give us an extremely comfortable and luxurious stay - a big thank you!
