Clean, comfortable, well located hotel with polite helpful staff. Would definitely stay if we returned to Te Anau again.

Room was adequate. Bed was too soft. Good location for day trip to Milford Sound. Nearby restaurants fill up fast, best to make a reservation.
3.0
Property is centrally located in Te Anau. Walking distance to everything. Nice bathroom with jetted tub. Property clean but in need of some updating.
4.0
Great location and comfortable room. Breakfast was 'okay'; vegan selection was reasonable. Gym facility poor and not maintained well.

We were happy with checkin room comfortable but a bit
dated. Conveniently located for our trip. We would have
liked air conditioning but managed with fan , but on timer
and couldn't get it to run consistently. Breakfast was very good and lots of choices.

The staff was great and held onto extra gear for us for 4 days while we hiked the Milford track

Location was great

Good location, good staff, spacious however in need of a facelift, fixed position low shower is outdated with shower curtain. A bit dark in the hall ways and public spaces

Would have been good if reception had informed us of the nights that the carvery restaurant was open when we arrived, we missed out because our first night was the only one they operated during our stay and we didn't ask until the next day. It was clean and comfortable, although a little dated

Refurbished twin room was nice and spacious, and facilities adequate for our needs. However could do with better cleaning to the shower (liquid soap rather than bar) and better cooling/ventilation in hot weather. External timber access stairs/deck are a little sketchy and may need refurbishment soon.

the rooms are pretty hammered. Beds are pretty uncomfortable.

Wifi accessibility was absolutely frustrating. Would not recommend for stay during working trips.

The first impression was poor as a lobby was very dated, and when we went to room 170 it was very dark and the outside of the building looked old. It appears they renovated the rooms. However, the carpet was soiled within the first 3 feet of the room and the bathroom had hair on the floor which is unacceptable. it was a very dark room as one wall was a slider out to the car park and the other wall had a window out to the street so the drapes had to be closed all the time The big disappointment was it looked a lot better online than it did in person. I would not recommend this to a friend.

I did not realize that the property at a time before which you had to check-in (9 pm). I have travelled around the world and never been to property that has a time after which you cannot check-in. Due to unforeseen circumstances I reached this property at 12:30 am. When I reached the property, I rang the reception bell as their was no one at the reception area. Next thing I hear is a man yelling at me screaming F*ck You and then a women comes stopping into the reception area and starts yelling at me that I was so rude for showing up at 12:30 am. This yelling continued for 10 mins while I told the women multiple times that I did not know about the check-in time being before 9 pm. Also, I told her multiple times that I was sorry to wake her and her husband up as I had no idea they stayed above the reception area and yet she continued to yell at me repeating many time to read the "damn" contract. If not for my young sleeping kids, I would have left but I needed a place to stay and so apologized for a room. I have never ever gotten yelled at for paying $200 USD for a room and then being yelled and cursed at. If you run/own a hotel, motel, B&B, VRBO or AirBNB you should expect that there will be times when your paying customer will be late due to unforeseen circumstances and that you might want to be empathic to customer that shows up tired with sleeping kids and wife at 12:30 am. Nonetheless, i will never stay at this motel or this chain ever again

The woman on reception was amazing! Really friendly and helpful.
Very convenient positioning, 2 mins walk to lakefront, 5 mins walk to tour sites.

Bed could have been better. Extra pillows with less height is needed. Pillows provided were not convenient for neck. It was too late for us to ask, so it’s on us. I am sure office would have provided that to us if asked.

Dated property with dust mites in carpets and bedbugs

Great location. Good breakfast. Clean but dated.

Great room and such a convenient location. The restaurant employees are great, super friendly and so kind. Unfortunately, the front desk employees weren’t as helpful or friendly….especially for/to guests traveling at Christmas time. Regardless, I’d definitely stay here again.

Cons: queens bad are quite small. To include more vegeterian option in breakfast

Excellent stop in The Anau. A bit expensive, but conveniently located, nice facilities, and a restaurant that's open late. Water pressure was incredible and parking was included.

The rooms are clean and big. Breakfast spread was fantastic and delicious. Parking is convenient. Plenty F&B outlets with variety in cuisine within walking distance.
First morning during breakfast we had a good view a big layer of cloud over the whole lake. Beautiful sight! There is a laundry area on the property. Will recommend this property.
