We paid 284 USA dollars for such a horrid room for old night. Tonite we are in York st a new boutique hotel for two nights for the same amount !!
This hotel was so cluttered and junky. Room was awful. No water pressure. I had no hot water my husband did after 45 min. All night the walls or window had a loud noise if water draining. Got 2 hours sleep. Dated old furniture, hairs in shower.
Needs to be updated and prices lowered. Misleading online. Restaurant in Jacobean bar was very good.

Nice looking hotel, and night manager was lovely, room was a bit odd - bed was incredibly firm (and I like a firm bed), and there was a noticeable slant to the floor - as I say, bit odd.

I had room 5. The mattress was the thinnest I have seen since a 90s futon. The aircon unit outside the window made a terrible racket all night, the aircon unit in the room couldn't be used as it blows right onto the bed and makes an annoying noise. The young man in the restaurant can't be bothered showing anyone to their table and just grunts at you. The scampi was awful, oily, mushy and unpleasant, served with peas in a little bucket full of water. No one visible from the waiting staff during the time I was failing to eat the crappy food. Then asked for a gin and tonic, like it or not, I was having all the tonic. No option not to. When I trained behind the bar, the customer had the choice of how much mixer they had, not the barman. Altogether a rather poor experience.

Lovely clean, comfortable, gorgeous room. Very very quiet at night. The wedding we attened was a late finish and we were worried the nouse would carry upstairs but it didnt. Breakfast the next morning was one of the best we'd ever had in a hotel.

Stayed again in this lovely hotel.
Was in a room in the main building at the front, it was massive and has everything you need.
Staff very helpful and so polite.
Restaurant is great for breakfast and evening meals.
My goto hotel when in the area.

This was a great stay. I was in one of the (possibly) new suites which was a very good standard, set over two floors.
My only gripe was that the bed was downstairs and the bathroom was upstairs so it's a bit of a trek, especially during the night 😒
Food from the pub attached to the hotel was great, and lots of it, served really promptly.
It's hard to fault anything overall and I would definitely stay again, but probably in a standard room!

All the staff are friendly and helpful. Great evening meal selection and so many options for breakfast. The food has all been freshly cooked with high quality ingredients. Comfortable and cool rooms, a refreshing business trip!

How cool is that?

We stayed for one night in suite 18 and first impressions were fantastic. The room is really spacious and the mezzanine bathroom is very luxurious looking. I did enjoy my stay but there were a few things that could have been improved given that the price of the room was quite expensive. There was a TV on the wall opposite the bed and one near the bath, neither of which worked. The mirror on the dressing table was a little round IKEA mirror and the lighting near the dressing table was too dim to be of any use for putting on make up. There were drawers in the dressing table but no hair dryer, no plug sockets close enough to use straighteners so your only option is to sit on the floor near the full length mirror and use the kettle socket. There were no tissues or anything on the dressing table either, and after staying in other 4 Star hotels there are usually some nice little luxury touches to make it feel special but there wasn't anything. No room instructions on how to use the heating or details of how to contact room servic or copies of menus. The room has high beams so was quite chilly during the night, first thing in the morning and also when getting out of the shower due to the open plan design. However, the bed was comfortable, the bath was amazingly deep and the room was clean. I just wasn't as wowed as I was hoping to be.

Beautiful location and easy parking.

We stayed here after a family funeral tea which was arranged so well by the staff at Rogerthorpe. Everything was lovely, from the food to the professionalism on such an emotional day. We filled the room which was so very well presented and the whole event went perfectly. The building itself and the grounds are amazing. The quality of service was outstanding. Thank you to everyone involved. I would highly recommend a visit and a stay here.

Not a great stay. No hot water for the first few hours of my stay (no actual water coming from taps), then barely warm water for the rest of the stay. Shower hose so perforated virtually nothing came out of the shower head. Terrible memory foam mattresses that compress to nothing meaning zero support.
Music in the restaurant/bar too noisy to enjoy a quiet pint and meal. Food was OK, onion rings superb.
Music at breakfast equally as loud, not great when trying to start your day gently.

I tend not to write reviews unless I'm either very disappointed or extremely happy.
I was extremely happy in this case.
I travel regularly and am a Hilton Diamond member. The Hilton @ Doncaster race course was full & I had a difficult decision to make, finding a suitable hotel in Doncaster with EV charging.
Well I struck gold! I booked Suite 19, the only room left with 4 double beds & 2 shower rooms, it was more than enough for my needs :).
It was clean tidy, well decorated and set out, the coffee making facilities were good, always a necessity.
My check in with Simon was smooth & friendly.

The room was good, with everything one would expect, but it was swelteringly hot and a cabinet over the radiator prevented me from being able to turn it off so I had to open the window.
The Jacobean restaurant is not staffed well and two ladies were working their socks off to look after about 30 - 40 diners. One really annoying thing was that they would not let me have a tab to pay for everything at the end of the evening so I had to pay separately for each drink and course I ordered at the bar, and for a business user this spoiled my experience, and I now have four receipts to hand in to our accounts dept when one would have been much simpler. I was hardly going to run away when I was booked in for the night.

Lovely apartment, friendly staff, good food only downside was the early morning delivery right outside my room with a singing delivery driver, at 6:45am not good.

Lovely place to stay, the breakfast was really nice and the service was great too. The grounds are beautiful and the employees were friendly. Only thing that was a disappointment was the shower in our room was very poor, it had little power and wasn’t very hot.

Very nice place, will come again when visiting family.

Very friendly and good value. Excellent breakfast. Poor shower and wifi

Lovely hotel, room was very cold as heating didn’t come on until 4pm, but they kindly provided a portable radiator. Reception staff very nice. Evening meal of garlic bread, mushroom soup and a pasta meals was very, very salty, we did pass on this information to waiting and bar staff and again to receptionist, but got no feedback, spoilt the evening.

Room was disappointing it was very small, it wasn’t like what was in the photos, if we had been staying more than one night we would have checked out.no bath only shower. Plenty of good soft towels plenty of hot water. Room was clean. No view only top of a roof. The staff were excellent even though they were short staffed. The dinning room was freezing cold and very unpleasant. Though food was excellent we didn’t enjoy it because of the cold room..there is no disable facilities and there are plenty of stairs..it is a beautiful old building with nice grounds.because of the heating problems it may put me off staying again.!

The hotel is always clean and tidy. If you are there for business, be aware that the Wifi is shocking and doesn’t reach most rooms. Also, shower early as there is rarely hot water later on.

Disappointed as the executive room photos showed a bath with a TV. My room didn't have one so I asked reception who said executive rooms don't have TV's in the bathroom, it's the next level up which is very misleading!
Also, in room 2, the wifi was totally pants and was so poor, none of my devices would connect. So although the wifi was included, it didn't work in the room.
Room was fairly basic, although nice to have a little sort of living room. There was a TV in the bedroom and one in the other room bit but only 1 remote control which when you changed channels on one, would trigger the other TV which was well annoying!!
Staff were all friendly and helpful. Hotel was in lovely surroundings.

A friendly check in and a fantastically appointed suite. Beautiful surroundings, gardens and venue.

Clean rooms, prom going on whilst there which the hotel did inform me of, however, they did not advise our room was right above the function room!!
Food in pub was good quality but limited selection. Staff very attentive and service quick.
Will we return? No i dont think so.

The hotel looked nice on the outside and was sat in nice surroundings. Inside it’s got old charm too although didn’t experience much of it as didn’t get the chance. The room was clean so no faults there. It was however very hot - they’d put the heating on when it was 18/19 degrees in the day outside! The bed and pillows were so uncomfortable, probably the worst bed I’ve slept in before so only resulted in me getting around 3.5 hours of sleep.

Lovely hotel with character. Food in pub was ok and nothing special but overall good stay.

The room was quite small and had a very obvious slope which was quite off putting. It was very clean and comfortable and warm. Not sure I think it was worth the £140 we paid but we did like our stay Breakfast would have been nice if it was included but not for another £12.50
