We happened upon this hotel by chance and it is one of our favorite hotels up to this point. As soon as we stepped into the lobby we knew it was going to be perfect. The hotel lobby is the picture of a forgotten time. The dark wood floor, the velvet couches and chairs, and the open fire place set the mood immediately. The onsite restaurant was delicious and comparable in pricing to other restaurants in the area. The rooms are nicely kept with very comfortable and clean bedding. The touches of real flowers and sparkling or still water were perfect. There is an indoor widow's walk that one can check out while staying at the hotel. The free bikes and ocean walk are to nice to pass up. We loved this hotel and I cannot wait to visit again. Everyone we encountered on property were great!

Excellent place to just kickback and enjoy some peace and quiet. Very comfortable room and lobby. The food excellent especially for a hotel.

Overall everything was terrific. Loved the staff-all of them very friendly & efficient.
Only bad thing I would say is the Tennis Director, the older man, was very dismissive with an obvious disdain for BPI guests vs. members of the club. Twice he displayed an arrogant attitude to my wife that was simply unacceptable. However, the young French tennis pro was terrific and deserves praise.
Not sure if you have any control over his behavior but thought you should be aware.

Room was very comfortable and spacious. Elevator is vintage manual and requires staff to operate. Menu choices very good, but limited dining options in area. We came here for the cliff walk and Winslow Homer studio, only to discover the studio is not open for tours until 2023. Still, pleasant walks in neighborhood.

This is really a 140 year old inn, so they don't have to pretend to be a 140 year old inn. Laid back and unpretentious.

They should not be allowed to rent out room 101 (our room). In a hotel which we chose for the beautiful ocean views, we had a view of the walkway to the pool and the pool looked right into the other side of our room. And, we had to walk through the restaurant to get to our room. It was a disgrace.

Went to a wedding at the Black Point Inn. Was a beautiful location, staff was friendly and overall experience was great. One thing I’d change is that the elevator was old and needed an employee to operate. Not a deal breaker but minor annoyance

Wonderful stay for the ultimate coastal New England experience! Beautiful inn and the friendliest staff. Loved the property and amazing views—wish we had stayed a bit longer to enjoy more

Perfect place for a quiet stay. Beautiful views, but it’s VERY quiet... almost tip toe too quiet... a little music overhead so you didn’t hear your neighbors stepping or full conversations from the lobby would have been nice. But, if you’re there for quiet relaxation, this place is perfect and stunning views!!

Had a great room on the third floor with a wonderful view. Staff was friendly and well organized. They were well schooled relative to Covid precautions. Food was quite good. Breakfast on the terrace is a must.

Nice place with breakfast included. After we finished breakfast, sharing one entree so as not to abuse the "free" part, we were informed at checkout that Expedia customers were not entitled to free breakfast because of the fee taken by Expedia in the booking. We were charged $32.

140 yo hotel and still maintains the classic Maine hotel experience. 2 very nice restaurants at the hotel and plenty of things to do on the hotel and association land. Especially liked the nice sandy beach and the awesome cliff trail for a nice hike along the rugged Maine coast.

Not welcoming. Certainly not what one would expect for the price point. Claims to be a luxury resort are greatly mistaken.

I had a good time.

Staying at the Black Point was a last minute decision and whilst a bit more expensive than we'd been planning we really loved our room.
We had a nice comfy sofa and two balconies over looking the pool and sea. Dinner on site was very tasty but it took a while to get served - was clearly a busy night and I'm pretty sure we were forgotten until we went up to the bar to get drinks ourselves.
We were sad to leave and would have liked to have stayed a second night but unfortunately they were fully booked up

beautiful setting, nice beaches, great biking and waling stayed 3 nights
wine and beer tasting, quick ride to Portland for dinners
made some suggestions for room upgrades and conditions for the price paid
didn't like the automatic18% gratuity which we were aware of, but would rather pay for performance if
appropriate- understand it of course in that some people don't tip at all

This was a nice get away for my husband for fathers day. The Black Point Inn is quintessential Maine. It was such a treat to fall asleep to the sound of the surf crashing along the shore. The staff is wonderfully accommodating and pleasant. Our room was one of the few that has a view of both the bay and the ocean. It was also very clean and stocked with complimentary water and local popcorn. Most importantly the bed was very comfortable.
We enjoyed the scenic cliff walk that encompasses Prouts Neck and offers views of the ocean, Old Orchard Beach as well as Winslow Homers art studio.
Coffee, tea and muffins are available in the main lobby where there is always a fire in the fireplace.
