When i arrived the private car park was fill which lead to my son having to park on the beach 20 minutes walk from the hotel...also when i got to my toom there was a double bed indtead of 2 singles as per booking and advertised on expedpedia...i was traveling with my 28 year old son who really didnt want to share a bed with his mum also the jetted tub has hairs in it and the balcony was very dirty on the floor and the chairs...the information on expedpedia for this superior room was incorrect and no single bed was is available..i had to accept an upgrade to a larger room with a bigger bed which had a clean balcony and jetted tub but was still not ideal for myself and my son ..slept well and breakfast was very good with a good choice of hot and cold buffet..staff wete great and couldnt do enough to help .
The pool was clean but i didnt use it as had the jetted tub which was great ...will definitely stay agsin but would book 3 rooms next time

This was our second stay at Hotel Volga, and we came back due to our last incredible stay!! Location is an easy short walk to the beach, and a very short walk from the main strip in town, that is packed with shops and restaurants. Our room was clean and well appointed, and the cleaning staff is very thorough. Would highly recommend the breakfast buffet, it is full of options and the coffee available is wonderful!! We also went for dinner, which also offers a buffet and again, has so many options to choose from, including lots of fruits, veggies and salads for those that don’t eat meat. The coffee drinks available for purchase at the bar all day was also so welcome and convenient!! The hotel is quiet and calm, and one night there was also some entertainment in the bar; Flamenco dancers performed, what a treat!! Highly recommend this property!!

Property was nice and conveniently located next to the rail station which made traveling back and forth to the city convenient. But it was also an eyesore to have the dirty graffiti lined railroad blocking the view of the beach. Also the shuttle service did not leave us in front of the hotel we were forced to walk half a mile to the hotel which was inconvenient to us. We also had to walk to a meeting point it would have been nice for the shuttle to leave us directly in front of the hotel. We got lost and had to ask for directions. The shuttle drivers were a little rude and unhelpful. The staff at the hotel were excellent though.

Stayed here instead of barcelona, great choice. The station is a minute away so we travelled in everyday and got to stay in a quality of hotel we couldn't afford in barcelona. Hot tub on balcony room was wonderful, but i think all the rooms would have been good. Exceptional breakfast.

Nice hotel with pool area. Not a gym/fitness area though. Restaurant in basement. Staff at the restaurant super friendly and effektive even if they were very busy. Reception nice but not super friendly. Overall a good stay in a more quiet end of the city. The beach club connected to the hotel was amazing. Remember to book table for lunch and dinner. If there is no room in the restaurant ask for a possibility to sit in the outside deck chairs. They will bring the food there also. Worth mentioning is the train that goes though the city close to the hotel. At the 3 floor I was not bothered at all.

Good location, excellent hotel, friendly staff.
Great views from the room.
Only drawback was the railway line between the hotel and the seafront.

Nice but parking is extremely difficult if you drive. Good restaurants and night life on Main Street. Hotel needs an update

We spent 2 romantic nights here near the end of Summer. We could not fault any part of our stay. The Staff were all very friendly, and offered us a complementary Cava while we chilled, waiting for our room to be ready (we were early). We travelled via Barcelona on the coastal Rodalies (R1) railway line, and the Volga Hotel could not have been closer. We used the hotel pool and the beach during the day and free beach beds (because of staying at the Volga) just added to our break. We ate & drank at beach bars and the town restaurants, and loved everywhere we went.

Hotel Volga is a lovely and very friendly hotel to stay in. Very friendly and efficient staff; the receptionists, bar staff, entertainments young woman and chambermaids are all absolutely brilliant. The hotel is spotlessly clean.
Beach bar is amazing - beautiful and chilled music.
The local town is a little underwhelming but the wider area including trips to gerona and Barcelona as well as the many other seaside towns very nearby via a great train service mean it’s a good location.
Thank you Hotel Volga staff - esp the main bar man and the entertainments young woman.

Very pleasant stay. Hotel and room very clean. Staff very friendly. Food plentiful and chefs more than willing to cook dishes the way you want. Small pool but as everybody clears off to the beach hardly anybody uses it. Returnable 10 Euro deposit on beach towels.Terrace has the sun all day. Resort is very Catalunyian. Loads of shops 2 mins away but not much to do at night, except buy stuff. A few restaurants but no concessions in any shape or form to pub culture. Depending on your viewpoint English is hardly heard. And strangely a distinct lack of music. Hotel Volga lays on varied entertainment almost every night and some of it is very good. Female vocalist was excellent as was Flamenco night. Woman lead was outstanding. Say hello to Jose, who will serve you your drinks at night - top man. Calella is perfectly placed for 1 hour train trip to Barcelona. BEWARE: everything in Barcelona needs to be prebooked at least a day before! Girona is a must; very classy, 1 hour - a mini Florence. The train line is literally on your doorstep and is the obstacle between all the coastal towns and the their beaches. Didn't bother us as we saw it as a plus for moving around. Beach is huge but there is a charge for loungers (about 7 Euros a day). From airport, take free bus to train-station 5 mins. Train to hotel took 2 hours/ 2 changes, 5 Euros each. Taxi cost is 120 Euro. Great, relaxing holiday.

Well, first the good: hotel has its own stretch at the beach with umbrellas and towels, the location is pretty central and the bathroom of the remodeled rooms is quite nice. The breakfast buffet is extensive, but a zoo, so youll need patience. Now why I would never go there again: it is basically a low quality resort hotel with absolutely no reason for having 4 stars. The beds are super uncomfortable, hard (you can feel the metal springs in the mattress), cheap beige wool blankets like in cheap motels in the US and cheap pillows without feathers or any comfort. Staff is not friendly and instead of trying to help just tries to get rid of you as fast as they can. We got a room with 2 single beds pushed together to a double bed (still with single blankets!) and when asking if we can change the room, we got told two days in a row to come back the next day with no interest in changing the situation. Staff even told us it would be too much effort to clean our old room on top of the other one and therefore this is not possible. Same with the guy at the beach - half the chairs were deserted and not in use anymore and we were told that we cant use any of them because the guests might come back and in any ways he doesnt have towels anymore as they are all in the laundry. Not very pleasant. We might just not be the typical resort customer that accepts being treated as cattle for free food, but even though the hotel is not necessarily the worst I would not go back there.

Hotel staff are very nice and the hotel is clean enough. However I have never had a worst breakfast anywhere, would highly advise not going half board, we didn't dare try the dinner as the breakfast was revolting. There was not one edible piece of hot food it was either dry, drowned in garlic or stale. The bread or toast was not fresh, the cereal was stale.
