Overall quite pleasant. Definitely an older cabin experience BUT they have made it clean and comfortable. Priced a little high for the condition of the cabin, yet customer service was good.

the place is a real log cabin,we felt safe, and very much at home.

Cozy, not exceptional. All the professional pictures were clearly of the "up the hill" cabins not the Bonanza or the other one that shares a wall with it. Those 2 are 100 feet from the busy road and not nearly as nice as what was advertised. The amenities we have come to expect in our "cabin rental" travels were not there. No extra blankets to be found, mis-matched sheets, ill fitting comforters and spreads and did I mention the shag carpet kitchen? Where electric had been re-wired old boxes and lines are cut and left dangling. Certainly not dangerous but not professional at all.

Excellent stay. Such a home like atmosphere that made it easy to relax and chill after a day of site seeing. Comfortable beds. Quiet surroundings. Nice size frig and stocked utensils/pans made cooking for the family easy. Nice added bonus of a gas grill to use too. Very friendly deer wandering through. The overlook of Pike’s Peak was astonishing. Would definitely stay here again!

We were in the Independence cabin, it was a lot more roomy than I expected, very rustic, had everything that we needed. We would stay here again in a heart beat.

Very cozy cabin. Owner was very accommodating when we needed a later check in. Easy to find and near town. We would stay again.

The owner, James, was there to meet me and show me around upon my arrival. He even texted me while I was enroute to get an ETA so someone would be there for my arrival. The cabin I stayed in was the Cascade. It was clean and roomy and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances, dishes and pots and pans. It is situated near main roads that lead into Black Forest, Colorado Springs and Monument. I plan to go back on my next trip to CO.

Great place! We were pleasantly surprised with a separate living room and kitchen.

This was a cool, cozy cabin just outside of Colorado Springs. Definitely didn’t feel like you were close to a big city and was surrounded by trees. Wish I had booked a longer trip.

Safe and secure cabins; facility grounds have a nice view of the mountains.

The cabin was rustic, clean and spacious. It has WiFi and Netflix, although we did not use either. The kitchen has all of the necessary items for cooking. The bed was soft and comfortable. The Cascade cabin was closer to the main than I envisioned, but nice. The owner was very nice and easy to communicate with through technology! I would stay here again!

This little cabin was absolutely adorable! Over 100 years old so we were pleasantly surprised at how clean it was. We stayed plenty warm with the heat generated from the gas fire. The only disappointment was that the bathtub leaked (badly) so we couldn't take showers/baths! James was very gracious about it. He offered to move us to a different cabin for the 2nd night of our stay. Overall, we were very pleased with the service, the ambiance, and the cleanliness of the Black Forest Lodge. It is good to note that the Cascade Cabin is quite close to the road so there was a bit of traffic noise. The other cabins are further back into the woods.

Nice place... next to a main road so it felt safe. The room was simple but nice..

I had a wonderful time. Gas fireplace made it very cozy. Would’ve like to have the Jacuzzi bathtub working however.

We stayed in the Bonanza cabin. My 6 year old grandson loved the bunk bed and the living room in the basement. It had everything we needed including a rabbit and two deer that visited.

Fun place to stay. Close to town but yet feels secluded enough. Staff is fantastic and very helpful for families. Thanks James!

The Cascade cabin was fantastic! Really homey cabin with kitchen supplies. They even left a fruit tray, eggs, milk and OJ in the fridge! We woke up to a deer family in the yard every morning. Very peaceful in the early morning or late evening but it was a tad close to a major road so you can hear vehicles during the day. Not a huge issue but thought I would note it. I will absolutely stay here again when I am back in Colorado.

Property has 6 units with cabin like feel. We were given a top floor of a little cabin which had a pet urine smell to it. I asked if other cabins were available and was told no. From what I could see, only one other cabin was booked that night. I feel as owner could have moved us to a different cabin but chose not to

I liked the 100 yr. old cabin we stayed in and the wildlife we saw while there. There was a lovely event space with a great view of Pikes Peak. We liked how quiet it was and away from the hustle bustle of town, yet close enough to go get a bite to eat or hit Walmart for a few items. It was a lovely place to stay!

Relaxing unique cabin style experience. Netflix and internet and full kitchen

Beatiful location, fun quaint cabins, gorgeous trees in the area, and a great place for a low-key family gathering or wedding. From past reviews, I knew the place needed upgrades (no AC, worn carpet, some outside lights not working, etc.) and was prepared for that. However, there were very simple things that could have been done to improve the overall quality that were not done: refridgerator not plugged in & cold when we arrived, no hand towel in bathroom, only one table knife in drawer, no top sheet on bed (important during warm nights), and no instructions for when (TV) Netflix disconnected from WiFi. Also some of the photos on the website do not match the actual rooms or furniture in the rooms; website photos need updating. If we'd been warned, we could have brought our own hand towels, top sheet, etc. Also, the Black Bear Pass cabin room needs a warning that the whole cabin is open at the top & thus TV noise travels straight to the bedrooms. If we had been warned about that, we could have chosen a different room where this does not occur. Just a few simple touches and more information about each room could make a world of difference for this lovely place.

Our cabin was connected to another one and the bed in our cabin is located right next to an old doorway between the 2. This doorway has glass on our side and what appears to be plywood on the other side. As a result you could hear everything being said in the other room. Apparently they were playing a board game and you could even hear the tapping of yhe piece on the board as they counted. Along with the teenage giggle talking that webt with it. They weren't necessarily loud so i had no reason to say anything to them. This went on til 2 in the morning. It wouldn't have taken much to deaden the sound when they closed off the doorway.

This B&B had a beautiful view but had several unkempt areas as well. We never once met the owners or an employee. The WiFi was nonexistent (which was an issue for us since we were working on this vacation). We were given juice, muffins, and yogurt daily in a refrigerator as our breakfast. Unfortunately, if one has any type of dietary restriction, this does not work well. I would NOT recommend this B&B. It is also several miles from Colorado Springs, so thats another factor to take into consideration.

We never saw any staff- were greeted by notes on the door welcoming us. Unaware of having to climb steps - I have bad knees & back - making this rather difficult. It's a long ways from everything - nice setting, just inconvenient.

What a great bed and breakfast
Sandy was amazing
it was the perfect get away for my wife and I
We will be going back to this bed and breakfast
It was close to everything that we did

B&B was wonderful! Quiet and beautiful surroundings. Comfortable beds. Very reasonable rate. All rooms were in PERFECT condition and beautifully decorated. All amenities available. Warm baked goods, fresh fruits, milk & juice delivered each morning in a beautiful wicker basket. We were treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. There are places on the property were we watched the sunset and took small hikes. We even decided to stay an extra night it was so wonderful. We highly recommend this B&B and will diffidently visit it on our next visit to Colorado
