The staff at the Ruias is amazing; their purposeful hospitality stood out during our visit. Everything we requested at any hour was immediately got an immediate response. The hotel's location, near the main plaza, is very convenient.

Is a very convenient hotel, near Plaza de Armas. In a safe area, specially if you are traveling alone.
Just make sure that you are not place in a rooms that face that street because is very noise and not good for resting.

We arrived at 1130pm and was hoping to extend stay to 2 days due to late flights , the staff said we need to check out at 9am coz they were full , we had to change hotels due to that we had to go to the streets and find another hotel in a city we have never been

Lovely hotel and staff. The first floor is flooded with Inca artifacts and stories.

Good central location, but honking horns all night

Caring and compassionate from the doorman to the front desk and cleaning staff. My wife had a medical issue and the staff immediately assisted her needs. They also helped fix mistakes the travel agency had made in the booking. I can’t say enough good things about the hotel experience. It was the best part of our travel experience.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the breakfast options and that tea was available all day!

I really enjoyed this hotel. Its location, 2 minutes from the main square, was excellent. The customer service was also super friendly and helpful. I really only saw two drawbacks, and these may be true for any of the hotels in older buildings that are centrally located. Firstly, I had the option of taking a street facing room or not. I thought it would be nice to have a balcony to see whatever was happening outside. Unfortunately, this includes a dozen or so tour buses that show up every morning as early as 4:00am. That means early morning noise. Many day tours originating in Cusco begin very early each morning. This isn’t the hotel’s fault but is something to be aware of if given a choice of room. The only other thing to be aware of is that in older buildings it may take quite a long time for the hot water to make its way to your room if your up early for one of those 4:00am tours. This is just something to be aware of if you’re looking for a warm shower in the early morning but also something I ran into at a second hotel I stayed at.
Id definitely stay here again

First stay at Ruinas since pandemic…found hotel to be worn out…carpeting on steps worn through to backing, frayed, dirty and loaded with stains. Bedding was gross… felt very unclean and definitely old and worn. So for the price of 95 US dollar you would expect otherwise!
Breakfast included in stay, but it was same typical buffet; nothing beyond. No dietary restrictions options such as gluten free or without salt… so I had to go out to breakfast each day.
Location is great…
Front desk charged us for a night stay that we were adamant had been already paid for. And then ( thankfully) realized their mistake. Be aware and carefully… always get a receipt and keep email records!!
Had to change rooms as invaded by a horse of ants in first room & from looking at the picture one can see that they were after something sweet on counter like a circular glass… meaning that bathroom sink area hadn’t been cleaned from last customer. I was beyond disgusted!
Hotel Ruinas… not on my list of places to stay in Cusco. Not worth the monies.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights at the tail end of our Peru trip. They were very helpful, offering to hold our luggage while on a jungle trek. They paid for our taxi back to the airport when we left. Excellent Service.

The property location couldn't be better - walking distance to the centre of the old city. The staff were lovely, kind, and very helpful. The room was clean and had everything in it I needed. Definitely would recommend!

The property does not have elevators. Shower water is cold. The beds are old and sagging. The blankets on beds were Brown old looking blankets that seemed dirty. The. Rooms do not have AC. The only window in the all rooms open to central atrium through which you hear the noise of all guests coming and going as early as 4:00 AM. The smell of kitchen comes through the window into the rooms. I DO NOT recommend this hotel.

The location was great, rooms were comfortable and clean, and all the staff was super-helpful. Breakfast was wonderful too with many choices and the breakfast hours were convenient enabling us to enjoy breakfast even on the days when we had a very early start. We had a most enjoyable time in Cusco and would definitely stay at Hotel Ruinas again, if we return.

Pros: Property is located in a good location, the staff was friendly, and the hotel was clean.
Cons: Property doesn't have A/C in the rooms with makes it hard to sleep at night. You have to open up the windows which allows you to hear everything going on around you outside your room.
Overall a good hotel to stay at.

the quietness within the hotel is excellent due to its location away from the main square, just what I needed after a week in the jungle.

Booked the triple room to accommodate 2 adults and one 9 year old. Found the room to be very spacious and my daughter loved the 2nd level. Additional space with fireplace in a sitting area is unique. Breakfast did not have much variety but was fresh. Oxygen available if required to assist with altitude. Pricing reasonable. Pretty atrium, furniture and decor. Cannot rate this hotel higher.

We had a great stay at Hotel Ruinas! We stayed two nights, separated by a night when we went to Aguas Calientes, and the hotel was helpful in keeping our main luggage so we only had to bring a backpack to Machu Picchu. The hotel was very nice - rooms were clean and decorated nicely, and was a short walk to the main plaza. Staff was friendly; we appreciated the complimentary coca tea and the breakfast had quite a few options. Would recommend!
