The staff at the front desk is really sweet and cooperative. The room staff is also very unintrusive. The breakfaat buffet deal for those staying is great. Visit Manama in December or January and you'll love it.

Good for Familis with limited choices for breakfust.. very nice location ... everything is available in the room. There is a 24/7 supermarket at the hotel but the prices are higher the other supermarkets

I liked the staff and the late check-out time. The breakfast was good and the hotel location was good. Could walk to most clubs, market and fast food places.

Expedia booking was completely misleading about this

Small mall and Grand Mosque within (winter) walking distance. Nice breakfast, nice views (at least on the side our room was located). We arranged airport pickup and Jazeera got us there 5 hours late (as usual). Hotel had monitored flight and pickup was waiting for us. Friendly staff. Quick check-out. Small 'grocery' store on site.

The cleaning crew walked in on me awhile I was completely naked. They did not knock or ask if anyone was in the room. When I called to the front desk they kept apologizing and saying there was nothing they could do!!!

I booked thinking it was a hotel but it’s a serviced apartment. We were offered a larger apartment space (2 bed apt. But they locked 1 room). It had 2 bathrooms very airy and a nice large balcony to the sea. It was clean but the rug had some stains. My main issue was the toiletry, I hate when they offer 1 for all purpose type of soap/shampoo a very cheep hand soap brand, no conditioner. They don’t have a restaurant beside from a hall for breakfast, standard quality with good range of options but not that inviting. There was a home style toaster, too busy I couldn’t use. Juice was not fresh or good quality-sugary orange flavoured. Location is far from the shopping district but new developing calm area easy access to different parts, so it depends on your needs. Good secured parking. I found it very expensive (about 90 BD) for the room and breakfast but I booked late, I didn’t have many options. Didn’t feel the luxury or treatment I was wanting. No small special details that make the difference. Very standard and practical. Would recommend for families with children especially if they want to use the swimming pool which I found people coming from through the small lobby.

For the price of the room, it was lovely. Very clean and tidy The wi-fi needs to improve because I cannot do any work with a weak signal, therefore this will lead to less people staying here. Not much to do around the area though. Bahrain is still under a lot of construction Fantastic Gym facilities, however!

Fantastic with some exceptions like:
-You have to call the reception to get your room made up;
- We were told that the second room would have two single beds which was not. We were given a queen size bed;
- We were forced to sign an acknowledgment containing a list of furniture items with their skyrocketing fees in case they were damaged;
- The place was very hard to find and reach even when google maps are used.
- The breakfast was average. You need to go eat very early to avoid the waiting time. Also, their restaurant manager needs some training on how to deal with guests. He asked us improperly to leave the restaurant since he presumed that we were "finished"
- Kitchen is well equipped even with detergent.
- There is a little supermarket in the ground floor selling all urgent stuff.
Overall, the stay was marvelous and the staff were exceptionally friendly.

The Sommerset is a great alternative to hotels. Huge comfortable suites make you feel right at home. Breakfast is good. I love the Juffair area in Bahrain and the only reason I gave alow rating was due to the construction zone surrounding the hotel. Unfortunately, we had a peaceful room until the road work started and went on all night long.

Nice hotel/ex-pat apartments in quiet corner of Juffair area, but it's really a construction zone right now with new buildings going up all around. A very large apartment building, > 20 floors, is going up right next door on the west side of the hotel. Lots of dust, trash, and construction noise during the day.

Nice hotel with reasonable price, no entertainment facility

We had booked a delux room with Executive Lounge access. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a one-bedroom suite but informed that the Executive Lounge was closed (or non-existant). The location was awkward and in the middle of major construction but it was close to the grand mosque and Bahrain seems to be one big construction site these days, since we left the Middle East at the end of 2007. Overall, the staff and accommodation were excellent but amenities such as an Executive Lounge should not be a factor when determining which room to book if they do not exist.

This is our second stay at this hotel; it is clean, well managed and the staff are nice.
1.5 / 10.0
The hotel is in the shade for most of the day as a 45 storey building is within 15 metres of the hotel entrance. the building in question is the tallest (by far) in the Juffair area, its only use is a landmark to take you back to the somerset

My experience was great with this hotel. Everyone in our company enjoyed the service and welcoming attitude we are met all the time. The hotel combines both hotel luxury and apartment comfortable atmosphere. The furniture is somehow combining both luxuries. Gym was so great as well.
