Very welcoming reception. Spacious room with beach and mosque view. Delicious and banquet breakfast

What an amazing hotel! We absolutely loved the Grand Mosque view from our room. Spacious and beautiful rooms. The main pool has breathtaking views. We absolutely loved the gondola rides in the evening. These are free for in-house guests. There is a souk nearby however you can walk 10 minutes to the outdoor Al Qana shopping mall with dozens of great restaurants and amazing views over the canal. I fully recommend this place. Unfortunately the hotel no longer has a playground for kids.

Lovely property with amazing service. The Horizon Club is worth the upgrade with even better service and good food offerings. The buffet restaurant is a bit hit and miss but otherwise this property is outstanding!

Out dated place and poor quality food

Fantastic hotel, lovely beach although the view of the mosque across the water isn’t as impressive as the photos due to some property development on the other side of the water. Always a taxi waiting outside and there’s a souk next door. The service was good in the lobby and the beach and pool bars but could have been a little better and faster in the restaurant and lobby bar. The gym and fitness centre were lovely and clean too and very well equipped. Would recommend.

Fabulous place to stay.

This is a fabulous property with 5 star service throughout. The staff are all very attentive. Our VIP upgrades were added without us having to ask like we do at a lot of other properties. The facilities are fabulous especially the infinity pool and the food is great. We would absolutely stay here again.

Would definitely stay again. The only thing I couldn’t find was a charging point for my phone but apparently they were in the room. Overall was fantastic and the staff were very attentive. The restaurant and Breakie were delicious. Left happy :-)

Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, very quiet area and food at buffet was amazing. Prices for food and drinks are very high though

My sister and I had a wonderful break here at this hotel! The hotel is spectacularly designed and has a very luxury finish to even the smallest details. The grounds are beautiful, private beach and pools are pristine and the staff are ever so polite and accommodating. I would specially like to thank Usman, who welcomes you warmly at the door. He was very helpful in guiding us to local attractions and always asked how our day went upon our return. I would also like to thank Surjeet, Redolph and Harni from Sofra restaurant who looked after us very well every time we went for breakfast! They paid particular attention to remembering our requests from the day before and having everything in place for us before we asked the next day! They kindly served us a delicious goodbye cake on our last day too! The housekeeping were very attentive and did a great job twice a day of making your room feel like home. They were quick to meet any requests too. The reception team in general were kind and helpful. Overall, we will definitely be returning in the future and look forward to rhis very much! Excellent hotel with easy access to sea canal. Wonderful appearance. However it was disappointed that nearby 'Souk' did not recover from the pandemic time. People were very kind and helpful and ready to serve.

Excellent stylish hotel with wonderful and attentive staff. Views from the rooms were exceptional. The only thing that wasn’t up to expectations was the quality of food and cocktails - the tacos and fries were dry and the cocktails were cheap tasting.

A short 3 night stay led us as a working couple to choose this hotel. It sings the Shangri-La theme in style, decor and hospitality. This hotel has a huge physical footprint with reception at the centre. Our room was on the edge of a wing so it always seemed a bit of trek to get anywhere (pool - one large infinity, and one smaller wing pool, and gym - located in separate building nearby) but if you are holidaying then this might not matter. Service impeccable and friendly. Footman always v helpful and friendly. Some interiors feeling a little tired but always clean and not a leaf in sight. Location pretty good - we wanted closer to Yas Island. Would stay again. Thanks SL Abu Dhabi

We were at Shangri-La for 1 week and felt completely comfortable. Almost all employees were very attentive and friendly. On my birthday there was a chocolate cake and a bouquet of roses in our room. And also on the other days there were always small surprises such as some fruit, chocolates or fresh flowers. The room cleaning staff was super-eager to make us as comfortable as possible. The deluxe double room was spacious and tastefully decorated and the covered balcony was a real blessing. The only point that disappointed us a bit was that, contrary to the public photos, the balcony was NOT equipped with deck chairs, but only with a little table and two not too comfortable chairs. We had chosen this room category only because we had assumed from the photos that we would then have two deck chairs on the balcony. Here we would find it fair if the hotel management would change the official photos according to reality. We used the gym daily and found it great, as well as the pool at the health club and the beach. Our highlight was the evening ride on the hotel's own waterway with an abra. If we had known how wonderful this was, we would have done it more often. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our boat driver Rahim, who gave us an unforgettable last evening with his kind nature. All in all, we think that the Shangri-La is a hotel with a great price-performance ratio, which we can definitely recommend and have already recommended.

Loved the quiet pool areas & outside dining especially at breakfast. The views to the grand mosque were beautiful.

Peaceful and one stop

Outstanding service, breakfast buffet was amazing, so many choices, fresh and delicious. Room was big, very comfortable and great view. Loved our stay and we will be back. Thanks for making our stay a fantastic one!

We arrived three hours early for check-in after an overnight flight into Dubai so we were especially grateful to be able to access one of our rooms straight away. The reception team (Chen and Heeler) made a big effort to accommodate our request for adjoining rooms. The rooms are nice and spacious and the balcony is a lovely space overlooking the Sea and Grand Mosque, main pool and restaurant area. Although we had booked Horizon Club, to get the adjoining rooms we were in rooms 322 and 323 which was not a problem as housekeeping team gave us all the extras that come with Horizon Club such as L’Occitane toiletries. The pool and beach areas felt really relaxing and just what we needed on our first foreign holiday after COVID restrictions. We only experienced two problems during our stay; the first was long trousers are required (for men) in the Horizon Club during cocktail hour. Secondly we booked half board & were made to feel uncomfortable on the first night for wanting dinner at 630pm during Iftar. It appeared they wanted western guests to wait until 845pm for dinner yet I’ve worked in the MENA region for 10 years & have often been asked to break fast with my muslim colleagues. This was resolved by the hotel manager who ensured we could eat when we wanted. The team in the Horizon Club were lovely & worked so hard to serve us great cocktails each evening. Thank you to Jem, Bianca, Nikki and Madhuri and all who made our stay so nice.

Huge property and perfect if you need space and privacy. Service could be a bit better - mostly room service and restaurants. Cleaning staff were great.

Quiet and calm. Private beach and pool. Also the sauna area was top. At least the one is used.

Spacious nice hotel room with great amenities. Great charm (though a little "worn"). Hotel room a little smelly. Good business lounge though hours of operation were a little limited. Nice pool, pool area and beach area. Great breakfast and food options. Might consider adding a device to dry clothes to prevent guests from using balconies. I advised pool staff when I saw a young child climbing balcony railing - staff didn't seem concerned or wanting to intervene.

Fantastic

I haven’t yet received a receipt described in details since left the hotel. Furthermore front desk was asked to change the room but delayed it. Also additional charge (AED 700) was applied in check-out without prior explanation regarding room change. So embarrassed. Generally I mean, I feel downright cheated.

It is a nice hotel but it is on the outskirts of the city far a way from everything and nothing is a round you need to drive to get to anywhere . Nice place to stay if you want to spend all your time in the resort
